    Post surgery Q - recovery

It's the lack on energy that is hard the first few weeks. After a c-section you can eat, not so after wls. Sent from my SM-G930V using the BariatricPal App
  2. I was off from work for 4 weeks and I worked at home for 3 weeks before I returned to the office. You will be drained the first few weeks after surgery. I wasn't prepared for the total lack of energy. Don't rush back to work if you don"t have to. Sent from my SM-G930V using the BariatricPal App

    3-7-16 Sleeve Buddy

I had my surgery on 3/7. I was down 35 pounds during my 1 month post-op appointment. I don't own a scale, so I have no idea what my current weight is but I know I am losing inches and pounds because my clothes, especially my pants are falling off of me. Atkins Lift protein water

They made me nauseous and I ended up returning a bunch to Walmart. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  5. It's too soon to not strictly adhere to your diet. You are still healing but the temptation is real. Today is my husband's but I resisted having even a sliver of cake. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    March sleevers

Sleeved on 3/7. I have moved to solids but I can only eat about 3.5 ounces at a meal. Getting in 64 ounces of water a day is not a problem. There is no hope for 90 to 120 grams of protein a day. The shakes are beyond nasty. My energy has been coming back and I had no post-op complications. I have tolerated just about everything I ate, except really spicy foods but I haven't tried bread or salad yet. I stay away from foods with Surculose. It makes me nauseous. I do get the slimes but taking a PPI helps with that. I am back doing Zumba 3 days a week and at least two other days, I walk at least 10,000 steps. I have been taking all my vitamin supplements. So far I am down 32 pounds since surgery. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Regret

I am almost five weeks out. Haven't thrown up and I only get nauseous when I eat/drink anything with nasty ass surclose. I do get the slimes but PPIs have been helping with that. Most days I can get the Water in. My issue is Protein. I never get anywhere never 70 grams. It will get better. I can drink 16 oz in an hour. I should be transitioning to solid foods after my doc's appointment next week. Hopefully I will do well with solids. It's a journey. Take it one day at a time. 8. I also was disappointed with Melissa. Her problem seems to be the no good husband. I figured she would have divorced his tired butt. Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App

Almost 4 weeks out and stalled

I don't have a scale and have no plans on buying one. I only weight myself at the doctor's office.

    Excessive Saliva Post Sleeve

My NP suggested that all weight loss surgery patients take a PPI for 3 months post-surgery. I purchased some before surgery but I didn't take any because I incorrectly assumed that the pill was a huge horse pill. You can't crush them because they are extended release. I finally opened the bottle and the pill is actually fairly small, so I was able to swallow with no problem. I hope the PPI helps.
  11. I am almost 3 weeks post surgery and I have excessive saliva. It's really disgusting. I am not nauseous. It happens constantly, so I don't think it has to do with eating or drinking too fast. Does omeprazole help?

    Time off from work?

I took off 4 weeks. 3/28 will be three weeks since my sleeve. I am exhausted. I have little energy. I am happy I still have another week before I return to work. I have requested that I work from home for the first month. Battling the NYC subway to get to work will drain me before I even start work.

    Going back to work

I will be out for a month but I plan on working from home the first month while I transition to solid foods. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Exercise/Lifting 1 Week Post Op?

My husband won't let me drive yet and I had my surgery on 3/7. He said that I am too weak. I loved to be chauffeured, so I don't mind, lol. I started on puree foods yesterday and my energy level has already improved. Other than my energy, I could have driven. I haven't had any pain meds since 3/10. Was this your first surgery?

I gave birth to my twins without a drop of pain meds and honestly, the labor pains were far worst than the gas pains I experienced post-surgery. Labor pains are no joke. I remember them to this day and my twins will be 21 in June. I had carpal tunnel release surgery on both hands, so I did have surgery previously and knew what to expect, especially as you sit in the pre-surgery area. I was more anxious with the hand surgeries but in full disclosure, I was late for my sleeve. I was supposed to be at the hospital at 5:30 for a 7:30 surgery. I got there at 6:10. By the time I finished the paperwork and testing, it was 7:15 and my surgeon and anesthesiologist were looking for me. I to rush and get gowned. I never made it to the pre-surgery area.
