I just got the call this morning that my insurance approved my bypass surgery! Woohoo!! It only took one day (less than 24 hours) to hear back from them after my request for auth was submitted. I'm scheduled for May 24th, which is apparently the surgeons first available date. I was really hoping for sooner since I've already been waiting and working for 6 months +. I'm wondering if a 2 month wait time after insurance approval until surgery date is normal. I guess I had thought that it would be much sooner. Maybe I'm just being impatient, but I am more than ready. There is another reputable bariatric practice in the area, would it be totally lousy to shop around this late in the game?
