So the next time you read this, you should be banded... Welcome to LapBandTalk and the Loser's Bench!

I just bought a HRM today instead. It was a $110 for $30 at Buy.com! The HRM do the same thing but are more accurate. I was putting off getting one because the good ones start at around $100 and I didn't want to spend the money.

No, mine acts like a little old lady.

Tues. is track day. We did 2x 1200 fast followed by 400 slow and 2x 800 fast followed by 400 slow. I really pushed myself on the last 400 of the last 800 and I was shocked at how fast I could go!

Mini Gastric Bypass Surgery
MacMadame replied to alicez's topic in Mini Gastric Bypass Surgery Forum
Here's a link about this surgery: Is The Mini Gastric Bypass The Ideal Weight Loss Solution? I'm going to move this thread to the "Other surgeries" section, since it's not about the Lap-band. -
Clipless pedals scare me.

*Susan* revision from band to sleeve
MacMadame replied to *susan*'s topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I also think that I allowed some discussions on OH to influence me. I do know people whose insurance wouldn't approve a revision because they didn't weigh enough, but some insurance companies are real pills about everything related to WLS. -
That's crazy!

When I run, I have a teacher I think of who made fun of me for being out of shape in HS. Thinking a lot of f-you thoughts is very motivating! But it's a posting just to post thread. There is nothing in the title that says we have to READ the posts!

No exercise changes your skin. But it can give you muscles and muscles can disguise the loose skin a bit.

I am 11 weeks post op from Gastric Sleeve Surgery
MacMadame replied to Nia's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
A stall at about 3 weeks out -- generally when the move is made from liquids to soft food -- is very common with WLS. If you keep following the rules, the weight will come off even if the scale doesn't always show it every week. -
*Susan* revision from band to sleeve

Guess I misremembered. Thanks for posting that. -
*Susan* revision from band to sleeve

Aetna doesn't. That's who I had so I looked it up. I looked up UHC too because I could switch to them. But I believe you that some insurances will. They are all different after all. Yes, I was quite shocked to discover this. -
More swimming today. In the pool this time, though.

*Susan* revision from band to sleeve
MacMadame replied to *susan*'s topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
Plus aftercare can be done by your PCP. Since my surgeon is local, I see both. But I could just see my PCP, if my surgeon isn't available. Susan - I want you to know that your complications are one of the reasons I got a sleeve to begin with. I knew that you hadn't caused your own problems from lack of compliance and so it made slippage real to me in a way that some other poster's issues hadn't. As for standard of care, most insurance companies will pay for a revision no matter what your weight *if* the reason for a revision is a mechanical failure of the first surgery. But they won't pay for it just because you didn't lose enough weight with the first surgery. That's what their policies say anyway. There are a few cases I've heard of where someone was denied for a revision because they weren't heavy enough, so I think some insurance companies don't follow this standard enough though they should. -
Welcome to LapBandTalk. There is a forum for Lap Band strugglers, if you don't get enough responses in the Intros section Struggling Lap-Bandsters (NEW!) - Lap Band Surgery and Lap Band Discussion Forum

Let me at your DH for not setting boundaries. In my family, people keep their hair forever, but go gray early. I'm the big exception. I didn't start to have noticeable gray until a couple of years ago. Right now it's covered with brown & purple, but once it gets more even, I'll probably let it go gray everywhere.

Welcome to LapBandTalk! When I first got here, I read like crazy and I found it really helpful.

That must have been someone else who was nauseous. I never had nausea. For the acid, I only thought I had acid problems. It turned out I was drinking too fast -- which made me think I was hungry when I wasn't. So it was all inter-related. But lots and lots of people are hungry at first especially on the liquid diet. So be prepared! My biggest problem is that I wasn't drinking enough Water (because I tried to slow down) and passed a kidney stone. What can I say? I was DUMB! For calcium, I just use Citrical because I like to use stuff I can grab at the grocery store. If I have to order it online, I'd constantly run out. In the early days, I couldn't swallow the Citrical though so I was using Tums. My post-op manuals said it was okay for the first 3 weeks. But I kept taking them after that. (I misread that part. I just noticed later it said only at first.) So I got the kidney stone. Like I said: I was dumb!

Really? I feel like I've had a pretty easy time of it, over all. But I do want it to be *real* and not butterflies and glitter.

Welcome to official membership! Speaking of "tooting", did you know moving from the 300s to the 200s is called "entering Twoterville"? So welcome to Twoterville as well.

Cost of your Procedure
MacMadame replied to Lady Lap Band's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I got a quote for a breast reduction/lift and a bi-directional tummy tuck (which I think is also called a TT with anchor cut) and it was: TT - 6500 BR - 5500 Hospital fees - 2400 Anesthiesia - 1350 -
Housework does count but only if you do it continuously. But cleaning up on the weekend for 30 min. straight definitely counts! Today I did an open Water swim. OH MY GOD. That's all I'm gonna say here. I'll write about it in my blog though. Then we got out and went on a short run. I didn't have the time or energy to put on my Nike+ so no credit for it in my challenges though. I think I only went 1.5 miles in 20 min. so it wouldn't have helped much anyway.
