I think they'll all gain it back eventually. The only way to lose weight and keep it off without WLS is to lose very, very gradually so that your body's set point has time to adjust and catch up. That's the opposite of what they do on BL.

It seems somehow when I wasn't looking I became a size six. Since I had my first kid, I find myself tearing over the weirdest stuff... I'll be thinking in my head "that's so corny" but I'll get a catch in my voice and my eyes will get moist. It's very weird. It also happens over anything I'm the least bit emotional about. So I'm explaining to Mini-Mac who Rosa Parks is and I can't continue because I'm all choked up.

Oh, mine got smooth a while ago.

Siggy (signature) question.....

I see a bunny hoping. So did you figure it out? -
The surgery can mess with your hormones. Some people get a period right after, some stop having them for a while, etc. My first one after surgery was 1 week late.

Call your doctor and see what they will do. Some will do surgery even if you are sick as long as you don't have a fever and feel okay. Others will cancel. If you feel a cold coming on, Zicam often will kill it. But if you aren't supposed to have Vitamins, you should check if it's okay to take it. I was allowed to have vitamins, btw.

Aetna only counts high blood pressure if it's not controlled by medicine. I don't know about cholesterol but I vaguely remember it's the same. Their bariatric policy is here: Obesity Surgery It's got all the details.

Does anybody else feel cold or chilled at times
MacMadame replied to Angie919's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
It's so common that Bariatric TV did a podcast about it! :tongue_smilie: -
I have pictures on my blog. At 6 months, my scars are hardly noticeable, about half or 1/3 the size they used to be. I think they'll be totally gone by 1 year. I found they got darker before they got lighter though. So don't freak out if that happens to you.

That's great! My scale has consistently been high in the body fat % area. It's great on weight, but not on body fat. Well, it is over 20 years old. So it says around 30-33% but my doctor's scale says 27.5 and my calipers say 25%. I'm not sure who to believe!

Pre-op and ready to go
MacMadame replied to VaDarlene's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Welcome to LapBandTalk! The pre-op diet is a total pain, but maybe you won't have to do one. I didn't. -
I think you are lying. Because I found this pic and I'm sure that's you: MyHero on Flickr - Photo Sharing! I was laughing hysterically.

The date is set.. Now where are my dancing shoes???
MacMadame replied to Toolow's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
The other thing about that clinic is that they do too many surgeries in one day to save money. That's how Almanza got to do 200 sleeves in such a short time. By doing 10 surgeries in a day, which is not safe. If you end up with a complications due to his being fatigued when he does your surgery, then it's going to cost you more money than if you paid a few thousand extra to go to an excellent surgeon with a great reputation. There are quite a number of surgeon in MX with great facilities and reps who are in the 9000-10000 range. When it comes to our bodies and our lives, it's not worth it to price shop IMO. -

I'm on FaceBook and would love to add some of you guys. But I have trouble remembering who does and doesn't want people to know about their surgery. I told people before to not friend me if they were worried about me letting something slip, but then I thought about it and I think I'll just never say anything unless the other person does first.

Watch it with the Citizen Kane jokes. :crying: Hey, Mr. Mac gets his CPAP machine on Tues. I can't wait! They are making him take a class on it before they give it to him. That seems like overkill to me.

I know you are being a smart ass, but the article I read talked about how their fridges have all these ingredients in them that they don't know what to do with. Like leeks and bok choy. I thought that was sad. I have a chicken dish I make with leeks and tomatoes but I got it out of a cook book. Before I had this book, I wouldn't know what to do with leeks either. That's very mature of him. I need to tap into that attitude when it comes to my dealings with Mr. Mac. Heh, I thought you were serious until the QUOTE function revealed that your emoticon was 'bored'.
