Gender Specific Area Suggestion
MacMadame replied to Daisalana's topic in Website Assistance & Suggestions
We do track dups, but they can just say they are a husband and wife team and we'll say "okay." I just operate on the principle that everything you post on the internet is public. Plus I've been burned before by people playing games on the 'net including dating a guy who also had a made up persona as his hot sister. Now that was a hot mess! -
Mine was done as part of my sleeve. They are in there anyway and it's important to fix the hiatal hernia so you get the best results with the WLS. I've never ever heard of anyone having some stomach wrapped around it when they had it repaired as part of WLS. It's always closed off with a figure eight stitch.

Yes, but I only know surgeon's in my area -- CA. Also, they do sometimes want you to have co-morbidities.

Anyone have abdominoplasty covered by insurance?
MacMadame replied to Christine_California's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I've heard of them doing the panniculectomy, but never an abdominoplasty. Some people get them both at the same time and the doctor charges them seperate for the abdominoplasty. It's a lot cheaper that way. -
Gender Specific Area Suggestion
MacMadame replied to Daisalana's topic in Website Assistance & Suggestions
Would it bother you if men registered as women (i.e., lied) just to see in there? Because I bet some would. I don't participate in those discussions either and I wouldn't even if there was some kind of criteria to get in. You never know who is reading your posts! -
3 month Diete and Nutrionist Appointment
MacMadame replied to jackiemhornig's topic in Insurance & Financing
It's hard to say. Some insurance companies are buttheads and will pick on every little thing. What did your surgeon's office say? -
Try this website: theworldaccordingtoeggface They have a bunch of stuff just for the mushie phase.

Bummer! She should call your insurance and explain. Otherwise they might deny you and make you use up one of your appeals.

A lot of people are tigher in the morning and pretty open in the evening. Generally drinking hot liquids in the AM helps. Maybe someone else who's experienced this will chime in.

Welcome to LapBandTalk! The site has had a few technical glitches in the past few days so I'm bumping up your thread so other people can see it and answer some of your questions. I do know that most people don't feel restriction right away. It takes a few fills for that. -

Do you have to plan your meals? As in, do you "diet"?
MacMadame replied to dietpeach's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I schedule my exercise in my electronic calendar. Otherwise, it doesn't happen. -
Isn't that what we call a sucker's bet? :w00t: I cannot bust you for what I will not read. Though I thought that was the stupidest thread title ever and then someone on the other side had to prove me wrong and post a stupider one. Mr. Mac isn't jealous either. Me too! And Sarah's not so bad either. Hee.

I had a hiatal hernia repaired. They made the hole bigger, slide the stomach out of it, and then sewed it up. I didn't realize there was another way to do it! Anyway, most of the pain from surgery was from the hernia repair. OTOH, NO MORE REFLUX!! It's awesome.

Do you have to plan your meals? As in, do you "diet"?
MacMadame replied to dietpeach's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I personally believe that you have to plan out your meals even if you aren't dieting. Otherwise, you give up a lot of control over your eating to other people. My thin colleagues at work bring in food if they think they are going to work late, for example, and don't just eat out of the candy machine like I used to because I never wanted to plan. Now, do you have to count calories for the rest of your life? That I don't know because I'm not on maintenance yet. But I think at least some people don't have to. -
Anyone denied due to too much weight loss?
MacMadame replied to atwoodka's topic in Insurance & Financing
I would check with Aetna just to be sure. I have heard of insurance companies penalizing people for falling below 40 BMI on the pre-op diet. They really shouldn't but if insurance requires that diet then they will have records and will know your final weight. -

At my surgeon's office you have to listen to this LONG message before you can leave a message. At least most of the time, they do call you back. -
So I've always wanted to do something like that. I do hate to run, but I love to bike and swim so I could put up with the running to get the other two. But I have no idea where to begin. Right now I walk around my neighborhood a couple of days a week and bike in the gym 2x a week (30 minutes each, around 5.5 miles, average heart rate 120-ish). I don't swim much at all. There's a pool in our community but they turn off the heat in Oct. and it's tiny and weirdly shaped so it's not good for lap swimming. No pool at the gym (it's the free gym at work). I do other, non-related, exercise as well. I did find this site: BeginnerTriathlete.com - Triathlon Training for Beginners but I don't know how good it is. Is there something like Couch to 5k for the triathlon?
-
Nope! I got sucked up in getting ready for Mini-Mac's birthday party. I'm hoping to get up early one of these days and swing by on the way to work. Otherwise, I have to wait until next weekend.

Very Excited - But a little worried...
MacMadame replied to SoCalCass's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Oh. I did live in SD for 11 years but I'm obviously not familiar with anything in SoCal that's north of there. -
