    Premier Protein...

I tried chocolate for the 1st time this weekend and I didn't like it. I bought two cases from Sam's (vanilla and chocolate) since I have surgery on Wed. Maybe I will like it post-op since I know my taste buds will change.
  3. Good question I was wondering too b/c I don't think I will tell anyone. I'm a very private person and if someone tends to probe too much I normally distant myself.

    Scared...advice please

I understand how you feel. My surgery is next week and I'm just as scared. I initially wanted to do the sleeve but with my sweet tooth I figured it wasn't going to work. I know bypass is the best surgery for me and I'm comfortable with my doctor, but I'm still worried. I hope I have no complications. Sent from my SM-G928T using the BariatricPal App

  8. Others are correct, dumping only incur within 30% of patients. I too was debating about both WLS but I ultimately made the choose for Bypass. It's the gold standard plus it just seems like the sleeve wouldn't work for me. Too easy to fall back in my old ways. I'm good on portion control just have a sweet tooth. My surgeon told me I would do better with both procedures and didn't recommend one over the other.

    JULY surgery dates!

Just remember your taste buds will change after surgery so we might not like the same flavor you got now.
  11. After months of wavering between the Sleeve and Bypass I FINALLY decided to proceed with the Bypass. I'm so nervous and scared at the same time. lol Now I just need prepare for surgery since my support is lacking. I start my pre-op diet on 6/29 just not sure which one I want to try. The Slim Fast High Protein, EAS Complete Protein, or Neolife shake powder. Have anyone tried these? Which one did you prefer?
  12. WitchySar, I have a similar problem. I never had an over-eating issue but I definite made poor choices. I skipped meals ALL the time to the point I have to actually think pretty hard if I ate something that day and if not I would grab a snicker and keep it moving. Especially on the weekends. That is all I was have for the entire day, my family brings it up all the time when I mention the WLS. They're worried about malnutrition. I tend to snack a lot....I love snickers and lays potato chips. Deciding between RNY and VSG was a hard decision for me, but I ultimately choose RNY due to my sweet tooth. A co-worker had the sleeve 2 years ago and she eats really bad, yes she works out but she Snacks on junk all day. After watching her I said the sleeve wouldn't work for me. Portion control was never an issue for me Since this whole journey I have learned to eat 3 meals a day and cut down on the snacking. I even lost weight b/c I had a very low metabolism. Plus I started walking an hour a day. You have to find out what's right for you.
  13. I heard those are great but it's not an option for my pre-op. I need to choose from Slim Fast High Protein, NeoLife shake, Bariatric Advantage High Protein, Core Power and Total Soy Meal Replacement. It's hard finding samples and since I have to be on it for 3 wks I prefer something pretty decent so I won't cheat.
  14. What Protein shakes are you guys drinking while on your pre-op diet? I'm trying to find one w/ a decent taste. I must have 4 drinks a day and can eat raw vegetables. Any suggestions?
  15. I've had the Nexplanon since Feb 2016 and the first year was pretty good. Never had any cycles but this year I noticed I get a cycle every other month, once I have surgery next month I know it will change too. I'm thinking of getting it re-done later this year.

    JULY surgery dates!

July 20th. I'm trying to get a list together on what I need to purchase for after surgery. I want to be as prepared as I can. Any suggestions?
  17. Hi mngreeneyes, I noticed you profile was close to mines. I also like the pace you are losing I hope I'm that lucky. I didn't however know you're not suppose to drink before you mean for at least 30 mins. I knew about after, which isn't that bad but I'm constantly thirsty. I sip on my Water all day or I get dry mouth, I've been that way for years now.
  18. Hi Michelle, Because it's the "Gold Standard" of WLS. I figured if I'm going to do this and spend all this money I might as well do it the right way. I only want to do this once! I seen people who had the Sleeve and is struggling to maintain the weight years later. I think it gives you too much room to make a mistake and with my sweet tooth it wouldn't work. I never had a problem with portion control, it's the poor food choices.
  19. Oh my, I haven't really thought any that too. Is this also the case with the Bypass? I can't imagine wearing a bra without a wire.

3 weeks, but Premier is not on my list given by my surgeon's office. I'm stuck between Slim Fast High Protein, EAS Complete, and Neolife shake powder.

    Weight gain after 2-3 years?

I have to agree, I had to prove I tried to lose weight on several occasions before my insurance approved me.

Yes I did/am lol. I thought it was just me....I find myself eating things I haven't had in years just because I know after surgery I won't be able too.
