First, do NOT stress the Wright gain. Your body is recovering and you just spent days in the hospital being pumped with fluids. I came home from the hospital 6 lbs heavier too. I also had a low grade temp for a day a few days out of surgery. I just took it easy upped my Water a bit, and had the liquid codeine/Tylenol meds and I was good. I had my first post opp appointment today and told my dr I had a low grade fever. He said it's nothing to worry about. It's just your body healing itself. Take it easy and lay off the scale if it's going to discourage you! Sent from my SM-G900T using the BariatricPal App Weight gain* Sent from my SM-G900T using the BariatricPal App

Poached egg week 1 post opp?
PissiChrissi replied to PissiChrissi's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well u apologized to my bf and just said fuck it and made the poached eggs. A little cramping while I ate it and a little after. And not as fulfilling as I had hoped it would be. I was so excited to never be hungry again as I hear many people say they experience. I'm hoping you're right and it goes away once we're on solids. Poached egg week 1 post opp?
PissiChrissi replied to PissiChrissi's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
They told me creamed soups with no chunks. But somehow egg drop soup is ok? Maybe they meant for like cream of chicken to get those chunks out because they're tougher? Who knows. I'm less than thrilled with this extreme hunger feeling in my tummy and the head hunger that is accompanying it. I just snapped at my bf because I'm hangry! Poached egg week 1 post opp?
PissiChrissi replied to PissiChrissi's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
They told me at the hospital (which I forgot because I was so drugged up lol. Good thing my bf remembered) that I could have egg drop soup as soon as I got home. A soggy egg is a soggy egg, no? Lol Sent from my SM-G900T using the BariatricPal App -
I was sleeved on 4/20. I was on Clear liquids at the hospital and was instructed to move up on my post on diet to cream Soups (no chunks), pudding, etc. I've really been craving eggs. Do you think egg drop Soup falls into this stage of the diet plan or is that more in the baby food section? Sent from my SM-G900T using the BariatricPal App

That's absolute nonsense. Bypass patients (who don't have a pylorus, the spincter muscle between the stomach and the small intestine) may have issues with things getting stuck, but with a sleeve, the same thing happens as it does for those who've never had WLS: you pass it out your intestine unless you break it down in the intestines first.Don't get me wrong, I think it's crazy too. I've not trusted a single dietician I've seen yet. They've all told me at least one thing I knew to be incorrect because of my surgeon or because I knew it to be wrong. The question was asked though. And on the off chance she's right, no harm can come from calling and asking. You know? Sent from my SM-G900T using the BariatricPal App

So, I don't want to scare you, but you asked. I will preface this by saying I'm not 100% sure I trust the source here. I saw a nutritionalist/dietician as part of my pre opp. She said no gum because you can swallow it and they have to surgically remove it because it doesn't pass on its own. I saw a total of 3 dieticians during my process and they all had different info on everything. So who's right? She was the only one who told me about gum though. I would call your dr just in case. Might be super silly but better safe than sorry? Sent from my SM-G900T using the BariatricPal App

Nervous and wondering
PissiChrissi replied to MyFreshStart's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think from what I have gathered here it seems the 2 week fast is for patients with a higher bmi. They have a much greater chance of having a larger liver that will get in the way of the surgery. Sent from my SM-G900T using the BariatricPal App -
Worst Life Experience Ever
PissiChrissi replied to anitavee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I can't believe your surgeon let this happen. The day of my surgery while I was in prep they had me do a pregnancy test even though I told them there was no chance because we had been using protection. She still made me test. If there are any issues (God willing there won't be) I would think your surgeon could be held liable. Sent from my SM-G900T using the BariatricPal App -

Protoen shake woth skim milk n week 2 post op?
PissiChrissi replied to koddie's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I came home from the hospital and was instructed my whole first week home is skim milk stuff- creamed Soups, pudding, kiefer, etc. They said the milk is how I'm getting Protein and to actually stay away from Protein shakes that have Fiber in them first 2 weeks. First 3 days after surgery
PissiChrissi replied to love4life's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Mine was on the 20th. I have a very very low threshold for pain so I was super scared going into it. The biggest pain I've had is gas. So I'm basically just uncomfortable. The pain isn't bad at all. Certainly not what I was dreading. Sent from my SM-G900T using the BariatricPal App -
My surgery was on the 20th. The biggest pain I'm experiencing is gas. The incisions are sensitive and hurt but aren't too bad. And I have a very very low threshold for pain. I held off a lot on the pain meds once they took me off the iv and I had to drink them because they made me sooo nauseous. I'm taking them a bit better at home but still very minimally. I think I would be ok w just Tylenol. I'm just taking the narcotics because I can I guess. Sent from my SM-G900T using the BariatricPal App

I love pickles, could it hurt?
PissiChrissi replied to DMH82's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I cheated off and on during my pre surgical diet. I was supposed to be on all liquids likely because I'm on the higher end of bmi. I did get a Jr bacon chee a cpl times in my first week. My doc told me a week before my surgery I could have chicken because I told him I was starving all the time. I'd have a chicken breast and I had boiled eggs too. And the day before my all clear liquid diet aka 2 days before surgery I had chocolate mochi. Like, more of them than I'd like to admit. I still lost 35 lbs in 11 days. My surgery was on the 20th. No problems. No complications. And I'm healing perfectly. A pickle is a Veggie. No, it won't kill you or complicate anything. Have a pickle . I won't judge Sent from my SM-G900T using the BariatricPal App -
Its happening! Now! Aahhhh!
PissiChrissi replied to PissiChrissi's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgery was an hour and a half. My surgeon said that's his standard time. That included prep but not recovery room. Recovery is 2 hrs standard for my surgeon. I can't answer for her but I think every surgeon just works a little differently. Sent from my SM-G900T using the BariatricPal App -

PissiChrissi replied to PissiChrissi's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ok! So far so good. Had some pain and discomfort coming out of surgery. Took the pain meds a bit to kick in. Had a little nausea a couple of times but the meds work great for that. The pain meds make me a shallow breather when I fall asleep and the machine I was hooked up to liked to remind me of that by beeping real loud. So I got no sleep nast night No food for 2 weeks, no Water for almost 48 hrs, and now no sleep has made me an over emotional cranky person. Good news, had my UGI (barely escaped vomiting during that) and no leakage so Ive graduated on to Clear liquids. I'm way too tired to care though. Hoping to get a nap before I give my first real walk a go. All in all I'm actually not that bad! Sent from my SM-G900T using the BariatricPal App -

Alcohol and drugs after surgery
PissiChrissi replied to jmc534's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've been reading a lot about post opp nausea here and would actually assume marijuana would help ease that. It is used medicinally for nausea and prescribed by doctors for that reason. Sent from my SM-G900T using the BariatricPal App -

I have been using isopure in my coffee for pre opp diet. I don't taste it at all. No change in flavor or consistency to my coffee. I bet it's the same in soup. Give it a go! Sent from my SM-G900T using the BariatricPal App That's so funny, I will have to try the Isopure in something with a bolder flavor then!I wonder if it works better in something hot maybe? 4/20! One more day! So nervous, excited, scared, elated! Ahh! Idk what to feel! I've wanted this for 15 years. I can't believe it's finally happening! I think that's the strongest thing I'm feeling now. Disbelief! Sent from my SM-G900T using the BariatricPal App
