Feel like I am going crazy not with the wieght loss but my mind
inspyrdbyu replied to dmelch's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I am 9 mos. out from gastric bypass, and I could have written this myself. I've lost the same amount of weight and been having the same issues. It's horrible. Very good advice from blondie66. I will be putting forth the effort to change my thought patterns and see if it helps. Not an easy thing to do, but completely makes sense. Please keep us posted if you find anything else that works for you, and know that you're not alone. -
Bariatric Fusion 4/day chewables. No need for extra anything. They have all that you need. Recommended by my surgeon after my rny and I'm 7 mos. out, exceeded all my goals and my bloodwork is excellent. Very affordable and comes in a bunch of flavors, very low carb/sugar as well.

Bariatric Fusion chewables. Low carb/great taste and no need for additional supplements i.e. Calcium, biotin etc. they're all in there. Recommended by my surgeon for rny and have always gotten back excellent results from my bloodwork. Also, very affordable. When checking and comparing, look at carb and sugar values. Most are very high and may not be what is best to get weight loss headed in the right direction, especially if sugar was you're issue to begin with. -
Vitamins are killing my carb limit!
inspyrdbyu replied to B.Annie's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
The Bariatric fusion chewable needs no additional Vitamins. It's complete with all you need and for bariatric patients specifically. Ends up being cheaper in the long run and easier to take just 4 a day than pills all day. -

Take 2 in the morning and 2 in afternoon/evening and you are good to go. Comes in a bunch of different flavors too. -

My dr. Recommended fusion chewables and they have only 1.3 gms. of carbs. Take 4 a day, 2 in the morning and 2 afternoon. No need to take anything extra, it's all in there. Just got my 6 mos. postop bloods drawn and they are amazing! Check them out here on BariatricPal. -

August Bypass Buddies!

That happens too me too with all opioids. Ask them to give you some benadryl with it and you should be much more comfortable. Sent from my LGLS675 using the BariatricPal App -
Hello Pink Ninja! Had surgery the same day and am still on soft foods as well. The only carbs on my list are mashed potatoes and only after you eat your Protein source. I love the roasted chickens from the grocery store, and the meat is super moist and i do cheat a bit and just take small bites and chew the bejeezus out of it before i swallow. Wait a few minutes between bites and no drinking until 30 mins after you're done. You will be fine once you figure out what works for you. Sent from my LGLS675 using the BariatricPal App

Glad to hear you are doing so well. You've lost a ton of weight!!! You must feel amazing. The one thing I'm most worried about, is getting in my fluids after surgery with this heat. Remind me....you had the sleeve right? Sent from my K010 using the BariatricPal App -

How's everyone doing on their preop diets?? So far, so good here. The 3rd and 4th day were the worst, but it does get better after that. Drink your water! Especially during these hot summer months! It makes a huge difference, I am finding. On a separate note....i lost 9 lbs. in 5 days!!!! WHAT!!??? lol I know it's mostly water weight, but so encouraging. My surgery is Aug. 2., and I hear you about the nerves. When they get to be too much, I try to remind myself that this will be my "new" normal and it's to keep myself healthy and keep my BP, cholesterol, sugar and other lab values "normal" and have a better life. It's too teach and help me eat the way an average, healthy person eats. Not immediately, but not too far in the future, we will be able to eat more of a variety without incidence and be so much more active. Try picking up just a 50lb. child and walk up a single flight of stairs. It will hit you hard how your body is working every minute of the day to carry around that extra weight and imagine what a relief it will be to get rid of it forever. Now is the time to work on mind over matter, it will be a valuable tool post surgery. Sent from my K010 using the BariatricPal App

any New Hampshire newbies?
inspyrdbyu replied to inspyrdbyu's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I didn't have to lose any required weight due to a low BMI. But when I finished all my requirements I had to wait 3 weeks to get an appt. with the surgical coordinator, Dr. Snow. She went over that all my tests were ok and I had all the info she needed to pass on to the Dr. My surgeon is Dr. Wu, mainly because he had the first available surgery date. They are both amazing surgeons with extremely high credentials, so I was fine with whichever one had the soonest opening. From Dr. Snow's appt., it was 3 weeks for my appt. with Dr. Wu. He happened to have been on vacation the week of the 4th of July, so it probably could have been sooner, I'm not sure. After my appt. with Dr. Wu, they submitted to my insurance for approval. I have B/C B/S and I got my approval letter within 4 days. At my appt. with the Dr. they gave me my surgery date pending ins. approval along with a list of appts. with preop. nutrition, hospital preop, anesthesiologist as well as post op appts. It was very organized. My surgery was scheduled approx. 4 weeks from appt. with Dr. Wu. It depends on hospital availability at the time. Good luck with everything!! I'm sure you'll do fine. Keep me up to date on your progress and feel free to ask any other questions. -
Pre-surgery question - BMI too low?
inspyrdbyu replied to ChrisGA's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I had to do the same thing. I found that it was the hardest part of the whole process so far. You get your mindset into a healthy and active lifestyle, but can't actually change anything or you won't qualify for the help you need. It really messes with your head. I tried to focus on the things that I could change like not drinking when eating, cutting out caffeine, small bites, slower eating and getting in my water. At least it helped me feel like I was accomplishing something towards my goal. -
Pre-surgery question - BMI too low?
inspyrdbyu replied to ChrisGA's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I would maintain the 36 BMI until I get written confirmation from insurance co. and the dr. as far as which wait they use to submit and what is required by insurance. I have seen too many people get screwed out of their surgery at the last minute because of a minor issue that was misunderstood. Good luck!! -

Going through CMC also. We are you in the process? How are you doing? Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App I'm still presurgery. My date is Aug. 2. Done with all my requirements though, so if I can answer any questions for you, feel free to ask. I start my 2 week preop in 4 days and meet with the anesthesiologist for presurgical work up then as well. I am getting RNY done with Dr. Wu. Sent from my K010 using the BariatricPal App
