@@Tdot77guy I would for sure be up for meetings. That's something I have been interested in. Either bi weekly or monthly something like that. I wonder how much interest there would be in this area. I start my 3 week optifast liquid diet tomorrow bright and early then surgery on April 4. I'm very excited and very nervous it has been a long road that started almost 3 years ago so knowing it's so close is crazy

How are you feeling about it @@AngelaBott? -
Ask Humber. There's likely a bariatric group or at the very least an OA group that's more local. Good luck with your surgery and feel free to pm any questions you may have. I'm 5 months out. Best decision ever! That's awesome and I will look into that! Congrats on your surgery! How are you feeling this far out? How much have you lost in 5 months?

Hi yes I will be getting mine at Humber River Hospital bit live in Newmarket and don't drive so wouldn't be able to make it there for any group so was wondering if there was anything closer

This coming October will be 3 years since I started this process. Since I started they lost my paperwork 3 times and bumped my surgery date because they booked me on Easter monday by accident trust me when I say I know exactly how you feel. Throughout this process I have said I'm quiting more then my fair share and I realized your that much closer from when u started there's nothing going to hold you back if you are persistent. I did more then jump through hoops for these people and it was what seemed like one thing after another. it pays off don't give up! -
I got the call on Monday that my date is April 4 and I thought I would be super excited but my first reaction was shaking and tears lol I don't know why that is how I felt directly when I got the call but I am super nervous. I am not shaking or crying anymore but I also feel very nervous and I think it's because I have never had major surgery before. Now I am just trying to concentrate on the positivity that lies ahead of me and trying my best to just imagine what life will be like afterwards and not so much on the surgery itself

I have to do optifast diet for 3 weeks starting Monday ahhhhh it's actually going to be crazy but I figure when I get hungry head out for a walk with my dog or something to distract and I am allowed 2 cups of broccoli if I absolutely need to eat....it's really psychicing me out though not gonna lie -

I would suggest just being honest with your boss. You can wait a week and say I just found out a surgery I was waiting forever for will be the 16th of April. You do not have to tell them what the surgery us for just say it's a stomach surgery and leave it at that. -
It seems like it takes forever till you get your date then bam it's here no worries it will fly by
-
Awesome! Yea not to far at all! They provided me with a support group but it's in Toronto where I'm getting my surgery and I live about 45 minutes from there and I don't drive unfortunately.

I feel the same way with back and hip problems at 31 ahhhhh lol can't wait to be done with all the crap that comes with weight. I still need to go through my paperwork and figure out what I need. What brand of protein powder did you get if you don't mind me asking? And what vitamin brand? Just curious -

I would definitely be interested in a group for RNY mine is April 4 Sent from my SGH-I337M using the BariatricPal App -
Yes it's a physical change but mentally I can only imagine what it will be like...I have always been confident with myself and body I never let it effect me but at the same time I have always been the funny fat girl lol to put it bluntly and I'm worried I won't like how my body changes or people will treat me differently. I guess all we can do is go through it to be healthier and hope the coping skills we have will work. I'm not against therapy and if I need it I will venture there. Who knows maybe I will feel great and it won't effect me. It's all the unknowns Sent from my SGH-I337M using the BariatricPal App

Hi yea for sure...do you have facebook maybe we can add each other and keep in touch while we go through this. I don't know anyone going through it but especially on my same day lol Sent from my SGH-I337M using the BariatricPal App -
I am really nervous and scared. I think the pre op diet will be the hardest. Sent from my Nexus 6 using the BariatricPal App Yea exactly what I am thinking my preop diet consists of 4-5 shakes of Optifast daily 6-8 glasses of Water and if I have to eat only 2 cups of veggies...it seems impossible lol Sent from my SGH-I337M using the BariatricPal App Well at least you can eat veggies. My preop diet is 7 days of full liquids and 3 days of clear liquids. Sent from my Nexus 6 using the BariatricPal App Mine is 3 weeks of optifast only lol and I can only eat the vegetables if I absolutely have to...it's going to be drastic that's for sure but your right I do have the option of the veggies which is nice for sure Sent from my SGH-I337M using the BariatricPal App
