diana tx posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was sleeved Aug 22, 2016. Started at 212, down to 165, but really stalling and very slow losing. How is everyone else doing that were sleeved in late August? -

I'm in San Antonio, using BMI of Texas.. where are you?

I start my pre-op diet tomorrow, and I am panicking big time! What if I can't do it???? I mean, willpower is not really my friend... I could use a surgery buddy, badly! I am 58 year old female, and bmi is at 37, so of course I worry I should just diet and lose it all, which of course I can't. anyone just going to start their preop diet and feeling the same way?

UHC Insurance question!
diana tx replied to MadisonsMommy's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have UHC also, and just had my 4th nutrition appointment. 2 months more, I am actually starting to get a bit excited! -
THank you so much! Your replies really helped. RoscoColetrain, I love that thought!

I hope this doesn't sound too off the wall. I really want the surgery and am 4 months into my 6 months supervised diet. I recently started thinking "oh my lord, I will really no longer have a stomach (or most of it will be gone), they will be cutting out my stomach!" Has anyone ever sort of grieved over the loss of their stomach? I hope I don't come off sounding like some weirdo...

I've been following the forums for the last couple of months, I just wanted to post and say hi. I just had my 3rd of 6 nutrition counseling sessions, so it's getting closer and closer. I don't think I am allowing myself to believe that it's really going to happen, so I don't jinx it. Has anyone else felt that way? I think once the insurance says yes and I have a date, THEN I will let myself get excited.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't?

I am sort of in the same place you are. Lose, gain, lose gain. I am at 35bmi now, so that is even scarier. I have high BP, but that may not be enough. The funny thing is, I went on weight watchers and lost about 28 pounds, but am unable to maintain it. Now I wish I had not lost anything as I would have been almost at 40 bmi. When I went to my dietitian I told her straight out that if I lost any more weight I would be ineligible. She said that she understood, and that our visits would simply be to nudge me in the right direction of eating better and what and how to eat after my surgery. Needless to say it's bad when I actually have to try and GAIN weight to have the surgery. Insurance companies don't seem to get the whole "I can lose but not maintain" thing... So now let's add stress for the next 6 months while I see the dietitian and THEN wait to see if my insurance approves me... It's enough to make you want to eat more! ;-P
