Literally sipping, I only have been taking sips that can Water my mouth and then have a little to swallow. It comes down like a knife immediately and feels like a thousand bricks at the top of my stomach followed by a sharp pain across my belly. 6 days post-op and follow iPod on Tuesday. How much did you lose during pre op?
missvee replied to summertoole's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was a lower BMI so I couldn't lose anything due to insurance requirements. But once I had the go ahead I lost 30lbs doing the preop diet. Currently 5 days post op and haven't weighed myself Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
Between preop testing and surgery I have spent close to $600. That was only because I have a $200 copay for the hospital, the actual surgery was covered at 100%. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I have to do 2 days of a clear liquid diet. Surgery is on Monday and I'm hungry!! My day started at 7 and I've had: 42 ounces of Water 2- 5oz sugar free Jello 1- Isopure Protein drink (it was delicious) 1 cup of beef broth (this was life) I keep asking the kids if they're hungry because I'm hungry, they're looking at me like I'm crazy, and I just want something else! Headache galore and the anxiety is REAL! Uugghh it'll all be worth it in the end Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Vitamin question: getting sleeved Sep 21st
missvee replied to katie09/21/2016's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The first week I had the same problem, I use the chewables from Bariatric Advantage, I noticed if I took them on an empty stomach that's when I would have to go. So now I make sure I have something/anything before taking them Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
It seems that once the surgery is approved they received a letter from the insurance company. Was it like that for most of you? I called my insurance, carefirst bcbs, and they said the request and after being on hold for about 15 minutes she's says they submitted it twice but the first request was approved. Called the surgeons office and they say it's still pending. What should I do? Wait it out or do some more digging? Scheduled for 9/26 Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

How did you all decide on what Protein powder was best for you? Was it merely taste, price, or actually looking at protein grams? I've been researching and looking at labels for the past week and I'm starting to become very overwhelmed and stressed out! Surgery is scheduled for 9/26, I only have to do a 2 day clear liquid diet but I want to start 1 week before on a liquid diet Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Insurance deductible and oop question
missvee replied to GoingRogue's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I called and called and called my insurance carrier even after my doctors office reviewed by benefits with me just to make sure! You can always log on to your carriers website and they should have a breakdown of what's covered and what patient responsibility is. I knew I had a $200 copay for the hospital by looking at the benefits online and 1 week after I got my surgery date received a letter from the hospital to be prepared to pay that on the day of the surgery. Anesthesia is a separate benefit as well as the doctor that will be administering the anesthesia. The surgeon performing the surgery is also a separate benefit so go over that with his office directly, I only had to pay my copay for his services. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
Choosing a Protein Powder
missvee replied to missvee's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That's the problem I think I'm having I don't want to stray to something that wasn't suggested. I saw one today that just listed 98% whey protein and just thought "it's too good to be true!" You've been really helpful thank you!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
Choosing a Protein Powder
missvee replied to missvee's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'll take your .52 cents! Lol they suggested only getting whey protein isolate making sure other nutritional values are met sugar, fats, sodium etc. It's just hard! I've been drinking Quest but feel I can get something better with more protein Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
