What my band should have done.
mbnurse replied to PaulStephens1975's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had a band for over 10 years. Only partially effective. Nothing for 2 years and then the sleeve 2 months ago. So much better than the band. Down 37 lbs. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
Work trying to make me delay surgery
mbnurse replied to SashaMLS's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I used to manage the department that administered leaves of absence at a hospital system. If you are FMLA qualifying he has already broken the law by not sending you to HR so that they can provide you with the paperwork regarding your rights. I think they have 3 days. All they can as for is 30 days notice for a foreseeable leave of absence. Your boss sounds horrible. I'm sorry you're dealing with this. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

Having Lap-Band to Gastric Sleeve revision
mbnurse replied to littlebare's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
This sounds exactly like me! I had my band out a little over 2 years ago as it had slipped and I was having terrible reflux all night, every night. Gained back 60 pounds. :-( Sleeve scheduled for 4/18. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
APRIL 19th SURGERY BUDDIES?
mbnurse replied to Sandra86says's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 4/18 also! My surgeon doesn't require any specific diet prior to surgery except Clear liquids 24 hours beforeZ. Encourages some weight loss prior to surgery but mainly do not any weight gain prior to surgery. Thinking about dieting starting tomorrow anyway. Getting super nervous and excited! Calling all April 13 Sleevers
mbnurse replied to Floripa's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
My surgery is on a Monday and I see the surgeon the Friday before, and also have to go to the hospital for my pre admission paperwork and whatever else is included in the pre admission process. I don't think I see the nutritionist again until post op. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
Calling all April 13 Sleevers
mbnurse replied to Floripa's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi Ana, I'm Marsha. My surgery is scheduled for April 18, just a few days after yours. I'm also waiting for insurance approval but my surgeons office says they work with my insurance a lot and all should be fine. How is the liquid diet so far? My surgeon doesn't require a certain diet prior to surgery anymore but thinking about doing it anyway since so many do. I'm getting super nervous and excited! Hi there, I've been looking for April sleevers too...my surgery is scheduled for 4/18. My surgeon doesn't require a specific pre-op diet and says that they just don't want weight gain prior to surgery, but thinking about it anyway since so many others do. I've been trying out various Proteins to try to find something I can stomach. So far I like Syntrax nectar, and they have a naturals line with Stevia rather than artificial sweeteners. The countdown has begun! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
