ChooChi73 replied to LoveMyBypass's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I haven't had cream of chicken, but I've had tomato and cream of broccoli. With both if them I diluted it with milk. They've settled well so far. one step at a time, one sip at a time, one pound at a time. -

Hey all, I am a week post op today. I started on full liquids(pudding, yogurt, creamed Soups etc.) Yesterday. My NUT said I could have very thinned out cream of wheat, so that's what I had for Breakfast this morning. We'll I'm pretty sure I experienced my first dumping syndrome. I felt faint, nauseous, horrible sweats, diarrhea. Ugh. Probably won't have that again. Creamed soups settle well though. On the plus side. I've lost 10 lbs since surgery, and 25 lbs since pre-op diet!!! one step at a time, one sip at a time, one pound at a time. -

I drink nectar. They have all flavors but I like the chocolate the most. Also I like the pineapple flavored one. It kind of tastes like pina colada. I can't remember the name of that flavor. They also have a Cappuccino just in case I get that coffee craving. I purchased the sampler and tried them all. Most of them are fruity flavors. They're all pretty great. 23 grams of Protein & with fat free lactate milk you'll have at least 30 grams. My doctor didn't want me to drink concentrated Protein drinks. He told me to find protein made from isolate. And nectar is not thick and tastes great! Did he give a reason for no concentrate? one step at a time, one sip at a time, one pound at a time. -
Hi everyone, my surgery was May 20, so I am 7 days post op. I was on Clear liquids for the first 5 days. Yesterday I started full liquids which will last 2 weeks. I never knew creamed Soup could taste so good. Lol. There is not a lot of pain now, just when I twist or sit up too far. The only thing that concerns me is I have big red circles which are hard around my incisions. I am allergic to surgical glue and have been scratching around my incisions. So I don't know if it's that or something more serious. I saw the surgeon yesterday(mine is on vacation so it was a different surgeon) and he seemed to dismiss it. one step at a time, one sip at a time, one pound at a time.

Ugh, that's the worst. I dry heaved a bit before they even gave me liquids. That was unbelievably painful. They had to give me zofran for nausea. Welcome to the post op side... So Happy it's done and everything is ok. -
I am 4 days post op, so no IV. I'll have to find some bone broth. I am usually sitting already when I go to stand up.
-
I can have broth, even though I loath it now. Lol... I think I'll try to get propel fitness that's sugar free. What brand chicken stock do you have? Mine only has 2g protein. one step at a time, one sip at a time, one pound at a time.

Okay so I feel super lightheaded and dizzy. I am 4 days post op, and my doctor has me on only clear liquid no protein until Thursday. I am going crazy. I want to walk, but every time I stand I feel dizzy and lightheaded. :/ one step at a time, one sip at a time, one pound at a time.

Hey everyone, I didn't get a notification that you tagged me in a post, weird. I am 3 days post op. The pain wasn't too bad. I didn't use the morphine pump very often, and as soon as they took me off(late morning the day after surgery) I only took regular tylenol. The gas pain is my biggest irritant, but I expected it, and it isn't super painful. I do feel a little crampy/gassy whenever I drink. I can't wait til that goes away. All in all though, it hasn't been a bad experience. Today I saw a 1.4 lb drop in my weight. Can't wait for the rest of my journey. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using the BariatricPal App -

My surgeon and NUT doesn't allow Protein shakes until have 5 days of clear liquid, so I feel your pain :/ I'm going on day 3 post-op. I can't stomach Jello well at all, and I'm so tired of broth from my 10 day pre-op. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using the BariatricPal App -
Day 2 Post Op. I came home yesterday at around 7 pm. Today has been good. I don't need the oxycodone, Just been using regular Tylenol for pain every 6-8 hours. I'm trying to stay on top of liquids, but I get very crampy when I drink. My surgical office only wants me on Clear Liquids for the first 5 post op, not even any Protein shakes. I am so excited to see where this journey takes me. One step at a time, walking , sipping lol.

ChooChi73 replied to jersey0601's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had a really hard time with mine at first too. I got crystal light packets in with it, and it made all the difference in the world. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using the BariatricPal App -
I am 1 day post op and also get stomach cramps when I drink. Hopefully that will get better soon. Walking helps the gas pain though. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using the BariatricPal App

I am very excited to be on the "losers" bench with you. Everything went well. Just took my first walk was about an hour ago. Pain hasn't been too bad, a little gas discomfort and nausea, but again, not too bad. I am excited to take this journey and live a healthier happier life. I've been very sleepy, but that's to be expected. Lol Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using the BariatricPal App
