May 24 Surgery Day
macdonaldkelly replied to LoveMyBypass's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
My doctor doesn't even start me on phase 1 till 2 weeks out (Monday)! I'm still on liquids, although I have tried some pudding and some scrambled egg and it set pretty well. Good luck steppin' up! -

Had my first "food" for dinner, 1/4 cup of scrambled egg substitute. Never enjoyed an egg so much in my life! Seems to have set pretty well. Kind of feel like I have something stuck in my throat, but no nausea (which everything liquid with protein was doing today)! -

Anything that includes protein, seems to make me nauseous today. I can do water, but add protein and... -

Don't worry about it. If you weigh yourself too often, it will mess with your head. My doctor told me, if I can avoid it, not to weigh myself till my 2 week checkup. Everyone's weight can fluctuate a couple of pounds a day. Look at the big picture! -

I'm also doing pretty well. Have met or come close to fluid and protein goals each day. Over did it a couple of times and KNEW it, but basically not a problem. -

Thanks for posting it the ingredients. I wasn't trying to put you down. It's just a personal thing. one step at a time, one sip at a time, one pound at a time. Sweetener choice aside, nectar is buying far the best Protein I've tried. Tons of flavors, not lumpy (dissolves easily)I love it. Especially the "sweets" for my milk. I hate plain milk. -

I have certainly envied some good food my family has had, but the head hunger hasn't been horrible for me. It will, however be nice to have a taste of this and that later. -

Nope you are not the only one... I was not on laxatives but still had that happen to me, I thought I was going to pass gas and well... It wasn't gas... Was not fun! Can't trust the farts!Yep, exactly. I'm in the bathroom yelling for my 14yr old daughter to find me clean underwear. Luckily I don't embarrass easily, but it is not fun in the least. Gonna give it the weekend and then call my doctor if it's no better. -

Also, am I the only one, or is anyone else extremely frustrated being a grow up woman/man and pooping their pants?!?! Twice today. I'm beginning to wonder if they have me on too many laxitives/stool softeners. -

I've really been doing pretty good, feeling wise and as far as getting my requirements in. However, I made a milk and protein shake and froze it like a sloppy ice cream tonight. Was pretty yummy, but I'm pretty sure I ate it to fast! Didn't realize it at the time, but did the whole cup in like 20 min. Oops! Now I'm super nauseous. Took some of the nausea meds the doctor prescribed and hoping it passes quickly. -

Glad to hear it! I am also not supposed to use a straw. That kind of bugs me, cuz I LOVE straws. I've been trying to stay away from them, must admit, I've still been using 1 or 2 a day. Hasn't bothered me, so I figure if that is the worst "cheating" I do, I'm still pretty good! -

Yes, my doctor only allows liquids for 2 weeks. After that, we can add strained cream soups, applesauce, etc. After hearing y'all's stories, I'm kind of greatful. -

I have not, but heard it's possible, especially if you're having problems getting in your Water and Protein. Keep sipping, hopefully it will clear up. If not, you should probably call your doctor. -

I usually sleep on my right side. Not completely on my stomach but my stomach does end up half way down. I have a body pillow i have been using. I put it on my left side to push me more on my right. It's comfortable for a while but getting up is a *bleep* since the left side is where done muscle was stapled. Sent from my SM-G930T using the BariatricPal App onmica: I guess that's what I REALLY do too. My head and chest are on their side, but stomach and legs are front down. I usually tend toward the left also, but for some bizarre reason, it's my right side that is most sore! In this case, i guess that's a good thing. Anyway, maybe I'll give the pillow thing a try and see how it goes. -

Anybody hear usually a stomach sleeper? I can only do my back and a little on my side, so I haven't been sleeping well. Poor husband has removed himself to the couch temporarily. I'm over to hear how some other stomach sleeper have been dealing and any tricks you have up your sleeve. (I am a 41f from Ohio, surgery was the 23rd.) -

I had a 2 1/2 hour Pre-op class 2 weeks ago. Woo Hoo, grand fun. I was on a 2 week Pre-op diet, so they required the class before that started. Packing is my last pre-op thing to do LOL. -
