    Anthem BCBS

@@Tashagirlxo, not sure about this one because every insurance company and policy is different. I have BCBS of Michigan and I live in Georgia. The company I work for corporate office is in Michigan. They required 6 months nutritional visits with a nutritionist, PFT, chest X-ray, EKG, Certification/Letter of Support from PCP. I'm not done with all of my requirements, I have 2 more nutritional visits to go, but I'm going to try to get my PCP to submit my info this week. My surgeon is trying to get me to get it done before the end of the year, which I agree because I would have to reach my deductible all over again if it goes into next year. However, I read on a post on BP that mentioned that they got approved for their surgery and they were on their 4 month visit. I also read on here where someone got approved just by using Weight Watchers online. I didn't even know that counted...Hope this helps. Crossing my fingers for you...
  3. @@wilson06, yes they're good. :-) It's going slow for me because I have to do 6 months nutritional visits. I'm going to try to put in for my certification from my PCP tomorrow. I hope my PCP agrees that I need the surgery and sends my certification. The only thing I would suggest is that they should have a structured program for a newbie to follow. Other places I went had documents on what to expect, what to eat at different phases, etc. But, I can still find all these things on the internet, just wanted it to be all laid out so I won't have to go searching all over the place. Heck, maybe they already have that and I don't know about it. I always have to call and ask questions and I feel lost sometimes. But, I've heard great reviews from another major surgery website so that's why I went to him after going to 2 other centers. At my last visit, he showed me pictures of the surgery.
  4. @@wilson06, Hi there! I'm about 25 minutes outside Atlanta. Dr. Macik is going to be my surgeon too. I don't have a date yet. I started in July with my first appointment. So far he's good.

    It is getting closer

Keep a good attitude and these experiences are experiences which are and can be different. I read them as informational and some ppl do have a hard time, but that is something to learn from and to use what you've learned or heard to give info to help you. And, if it's too much, it's good to take a break. When I joined this group, all I did was read some posts and do more research and if I had questions, I would post, but, use this as a tool to help you in your WLS journey. Congratulations on your upcoming surgery date!
