Changing your mind with two weeks left.
Muted_Tummy replied to choicemun's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Remind yourself all the reasons why. I think family and friends worry about surgery. You don't see family second guessing an elected hysterectomy. ..why, so often struggles one has with our ovaries and uterus and not hidden. They do not know all the pain , physical and emo tional, of carrying around all that extra weight because we hide it. For myself, I did they...ok one last time trying weight watchers....and I couldn't push past 20 lbs lost. Just see their second guessing as "I love you'. None of us "want" WLS but we come to realize to get the life and health we want, it's the only way. Do I wish I could make goal and lifetime in WW and "eat like a normal person "? Yes. Do I look at research on WW and realize very few make that? Yes. Hang in there. Come up with ur own come backs. I am just starting to tell folks out of m6 core family. I just preface my coming out with....I have chosen to tell you this because I need your support. After many tries at different things, I have decided on wls. I'm happy to answer any questions abt the surgery but please know this was a long road to get to this decision. Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App -

Any April/May 2016 sleevers?

I hope to be in the May club. I started this decision last fall. Got a surgeon, met, started therapy, got PCP on board who sent paperwork, psych clearance...was on my way. Then jump to me changing surgeons. Long story. If you want it, I got it. Had to wait a month to get in there...then she cancelled and rescheduled for Feb. About same time, due to a change in jobs, our insurance is changing and that surgical team/hospital is not covered. I have to start over. Thus, my third "first" appointment for a surgery date and list of whatever the new insurance wants to do list, is March 17th. I am not sure if the new doc or the new insurance will accept any of the previously done work or not. I may be handed a whole new punch list of testing to get done. Did I mention I meet my brand new PCP the week prior and need to get a new authorization'/referral from her? I have no worries about qualifying. But jeez. I am hoping I can be fast tracked given I've been a this and get in there by May, June the latest. The surgery center and docs have the whole story and will help. My only hold up could be if new insurance has some 6 months wait clause like some do. I won't know the ins and outs of that until Tuesday but it doesn't appear that's an issue for my insurance. *fingerscrossed*
