Saw the surgeon, have decided to go with a breast lift, body lift & fix my arms. He said I'll be either a B or C cup which I'm happy with I don't want big breasts & I wanted to avoid implants if I could. I will need to go back to get legs done another time.

No but I didn't really talk a great deal to him to be honest.
How are you going anyway? I see my reconstructive surgeon in a fortnight!!! Super excited!!! -
Looks like your going overseas then! Good luck

If you started paying private health now, 12 months flies pretty quick. To see Adam you need to see him as a private patient not a public one. You can make an appointment for a consultation even if you don't have private health yet.

I had my surgery done in Melbourne by Adam Skidmore. He's brilliant. Can't you just pay the health insurance in advance ? Much cheaper that way? Surgery cost just over 5k, hospital $500, anesthetist $1500 all done. I struggled with a 3 hour drive back to my house, don't know how I'd cope in a plane for that long even if it was a week after

Yeah I have waited a year but still have to pay $3500 for the sleeve.
Can you use super for Excess skin removal? Didn't know that

Since having my surgery, I've found out a friends daughter had it so we got in contact and chat regularly, not just about the sleeve but life in general. Point of story, she got her reconstructive surgery completed a few months ago and they used super to pay for it. That will be a big relief if I can also get approval from super, I was thinking I'd have to take out a loan!

I didn't, I paid for it myself but I will use my super to pay for my reconstructive surgery.

Hi guys. Vic chick here. Had my surgery 17th March 2016. Surgery weight 140.2, current weight 92.5, surgeon wants my to get to 90, I'd like to get to 85, then skin off will be 80 or less woohoo! I loved the Optifast diet, the chocolate shakes seriously tasted like milkshakes, well every flavour was yum but I loved the choc. However, be warned, taste buds can sometimes change post surgery. I couldn't handle the Optifast after surgery, was too sweet. I can't really handle sweet food at all anymore. Which is awesome though lol.

I understand in a way the guys statement. I wouldn't want to date a morbidly obese person, as I was that person and I'm still scared of going back to old habits. I don't trust myself it's that simple. But whoever I date, needs to have a good healthy diet, regardless of their size.

I still get worked up a little bit it's so frustrating to hear. A guy who had his surgery a week after mine, was saying how he'd eaten a pie, we were in puréed stage, but it was ok because he took an hour to eat it and chewed thoroughly. I wanted to punch him in the head! Seriously! What's the point of having the surgery when you continue to eat shit and also could hurt yourself? And he wondered why he was struggling to lose?

The only bad thing I'll say about it, is be careful how much you eat. And make sure you drink plenty of Water. It can block you up, I learnt the hard way #shitabrick

I always eat cheese now. Surgery was March. I did talk to my surgeon I was worried I was eating too much. He laughed and said cut the crackers out with it, but that the cheese is fine it's Protein. I have it every single day for morning tea and dessert. I've lost 46kg since March, so it can't be that bad!

Ah I'm gonna need the works but as my surgeon said, no matter how much effort I could put in at the gym the reality is I'll be at least 60kg down by the time I have surgery & there will be excess skin as a result of such huge weight loss

That's awesome! I'll never be super skinny but aiming for size 14 up top and 16 down below. I see my surgeon end of February and if I'm still doing well he's going to refer me to a plastic surgeon woohoo!

Thankyou! Are you Aussie? Who did your sleeve? I had Adam Skidmore he was fantastic and has worked overseas & spoken at conferences overseas too!
I'm seeing Dean Trotter. Check him out on his website. He seems very good! I haven't got costs yet, waiting for the quote and therefore the heart attack
