If I eat a whole can i get reflux and it just sits there, not a nice feeling. So I eat half a can and I'm comfortable. I'm very conscious not to eat too much and stretch my stomach, cause a leak etc. after all it's not fully healed yet. I had to have a liquid only diet for first 2 weeks - if it couldn't be drunk through a straw I wasn't allowed to have it. Then I moved to puréed food and if it isn't puréed enough it hurts. My notes from my dietician say to avoid chicken breast and steak and roasts as those meats are really dry, once I do get to solids. I'm nervous about starting solids, as I don't want to be in pain, throw up etc. I found it really easy to know when I was full on liquids but that's because liquids go down easier and move through the stomach easier, and I'm definately struggling a bit with the puréed but I just need to make sure it's moist and puréed well. It's not forever, if I can't suck it up and follow my surgeons instructions for a few weeks then the reality is I probably wasn't mentally ready for the surgery hey? I just had an appt with my surgeon he's really pleased with my progress. Said the next 6-8 weeks will be the hardest as I learn to eat solids again. I see him again in 6 weeks. Wounds have healed really well, glue is all off now so I can start rubbing Vitamin e oil in to help the scarring. We will still be able to enjoy eating, and if anything we will appreciate our food more and I know I will be concentrating on making sure it's good food what I eat, not shit. Eating half a tin of tuna right now, it's delicious! (I've always been a massive tuna fan) Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Kiwijet that's very naughty! Lol how do you feel now about it? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

I can only tolerate half a measuring cup of puréed food. If it's a cup of Soup I can tolerate almost 1 measuring cup. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

Difference between the 2 stages kiwi jet is that mushy isn't quite as puréed, but still soft. Does that make sense? I saw my dietician last week, for my week 3 foods (puréed) and week 4 and solids, and they have given me a sheet for each with suggested foods, things to avoid etc. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

Hi guys! Having my surgery in just over a week, March 17th, with Dr Skidmore. Getting a bit nervous now, not of the surgery, more the learning of how much to eat, what to eat etc? I've lost 13kg since start of December but plenty more to go. I'm on 2 weeks Optifast diet. I really enjoy the shakes, not so much the Soup so I've canned that. I'm eating veggies at lunch then holding off for my shake for an hour or two, it's more of an arvo treat that way. Plus my stomach curdles at the thought of hot & cold food at same time. What are you having for Breakfast and dinner? Are you coping ok to have it? They gave me soup, just a little bowl, and I had probably half? They also gave me a glass of sustagen and I had about 3 sips lol. Other then that just lots of Water. I find even now, when I eat or drink, I feel the need to burp. Mainly when eating. I struggle to let one out, I've never been a big gassy girl & whenever I would be like this in the past I would go get a glass of Coke, skull it down & let the gas in the Coke do its job lol. But can't do that now so sit there for ages doing these tiny little burps lol. Are you up and walking yet? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I'm on puréed food this week and last 2 morning have had 1 wheetbix with milk & both times haven't been able to finish. I've only lost 2kg this week compared to 4.5 the first week but I'm struggling to drink enough this week. I don't feel thirsty and need to remind myself to drink Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

When I puréed the baked Beans, I got a measuring cup out, got what I wanted and left the rest in the can for later. When I did the soup though, I blended the whole amount & then measured out my serve & put the rest in fridge for today. I think in hindsight that's easier.
