    Dumping syndrome with gastric sleeve

I am 10 months out...no matter what I eat in the morning it goes straight through...diarrhea. Not in the afternoon or evening. Anyone else suffer this affliction. Protein drinks , yogurt, egg, anything. ANYONE.??? Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  2. I recently discovered a nice treat.....Kroger KarbMaster Protein smoothies....lactose free. YAY. It's a nice snack treat.

    3 Month Sleeve-versary

.........;Hi Miss. I am 4 months & 50 lbs and quite happy. I am very active socially....eating out and with friends homes is challenging but completely do-able because I can only eat 2-3 tablespoons of whatever. I avoid carbs & sugars totally. I think that is the secret to this whole thing....plus some exercise. I do the gym thing 2-3 times a week only (chair aerobics & stationary bike ). At age 74 I am pretty sure that's enough considering both my knees have been replaced.. I have great support and encouragement from both friends and family. ... Good luck to you.
  4. What a fabulous and inspiring message you have shared with us. It has really lifted my spirits although I stay in high spirits. Like you...I enjoy a super social active lifestyle with many friends and family and it's so easy to adapt our habits to fit the occasion without blowing it. We signed on for this great new way of life and it is truly great. And yes by getting the Proteins and the liquids we can write our own ticket. I am only 3 months & 42 lbs out but know I will reach your level soon. Thanks again for the inspiration. Judy in Louisiana

    Alcohol

I am 6 weeks out and am enjoying a little wine 2 or 3 times a week.....counting calories of course. I didn't experience any "BUZZ" at all. I just know we need to be aware of the empty calories.

    Revision

I had revision on March 2nd and all is well actually couldn't be better. I've had a couple of stalls which was to be expected but things are moving in the right direction now....32 lbs down in all . I feel great and recommend the procedure to anyone that had no success with the lap band. I see you are Louisiana like me........my clinic is in Lafayette and am very pleased with them. Good luck.
  9. Mine was March 2nd and I have had absolutely NO problems or issues or pain like some I have read on this forum. The secret for me is stopping a meal before I have had too much. It seems that getting enough Protein is a little more challenging now than in the beginning so I rely on the JET FUEL known as "Isopure". Unlike others I can tolerate it quite well. To answer your question......I feel great and am not straying from the high protein /liquid program. I go to the gym 3 or 4 time a week which of course is a big plus according to my Doc. Good luck to all of us. Judy

  11. Isoprene is a great protein source but the taste is @&$!?$&@?! Yuk. I mix 1/3 each............Isopure and Powerade zero and Crystal lite Tastes pretty good
  12. Yes..........mine was removed during sleeve surgery as well as major hernia repair and lapband removal.. As far as pain and complications....I have had none other than certain foods going straight through me. I mainly refer to one of my faves...Greek yogurt. I may be eating too fast and will discuss this with my PA soon. I am curious as to who else has had these same issues. Please reply if you have. TKS

What is your favorite pureed food?

Refried Beans from a can is good......make sure to buy a brand name. I nuke and mash cauliflower and enjoy that. You'll find your faves but stay away from carbs. Good luck.

    Newby

I am 74 and am 6 weeks post-op with absolutely NO PROBLEMS or complaints. Unlike many others I have had NO pain or swallowing issues and continue with 70+ Proteins and gallons of Water. I'm trying to be creative with foods & menus now which is challenging. All will be worth it in the end . Good luck.....age is only a number !!!!

I am 6+ weeks out and feel great. My energy level did not return until at least 4+ weeks post-op. No worries.......it will happen for you. Good luck to you and me.
  18. My experience with the bathroom issue is..........and still is at 6weeks.... If I eat or drink anything too fast. I've learned this the hard way. So..just slow way down !!!!

    Stall #2

I have "stalled" for at least 3 weeks but not to worry says my Doc. I just keep up the Protein and liquids and have begun a moderate exercise program. I'm 74 and not been active except for travel for several years so it is not easy but............I am dedicated. I feel 100% better and have no doubt the stalls will come and go according to everyone else's experience and postings. Good luck to you & me..
  20. Did I read somewhere that if your calorie intake is too little it will slow down your weight loss I have been in a stall for 3 weeks at least I am 6 weeks out and very seldom exceed 650 - 700 calories . I do get 80+ protein grams and 70+ oz liquids. Anyone have answers

    Too little calories

Watching carbs and the rest closely. I am following all the rules to the nth degree and exercise is moderate
  22. My fave website for tracking everything is...........LoseIt.com. I am beginning my 7th week post......27 lbs down. I'm at a stall but not at all discouraged as others have suggested. Stalls can happen with NO rhyme or reason. Good luck.

    Protein?

"PREMIER PROTEIN" ......brand shakes @ Sam's Club. I really like them.
  24. I had surgery March 2 and am experiencing the same thing as you including the stall. But I understand it's part of the process. I just joined a gym and hoping for good things to happen. Good luck to me and you
