I'm currently 9 days post op (3/9/2016). In November 2015 I decided to make a life change after visiting my doctors office and discovered I was weighing a whopping 307 pds. Unfortunately this wasn't my highest. My highest ever recorded weight was actually 309 maybe 2 yrs prior. In May of 2014 I was weighing around 257 pds and that was a comfortable weight for me. I achieved this goal by taking advantage of the medical weight loss route, which entailed diet, exercise and taking phentermine 37.5mg daily. Eventually my body became used to the medicine and slowly but surely the weight started piling back on. Overtime I physically felt my body getting more and more out of shape. Daily routine activities started to feel a lil bit more difficult and that's when I knew it was time for a change. So in November 2015 I voiced to my dr. that I wanted to go thru with vsg surgery. Overall this was the best thing I could've done for myself. I'm still in the beginning therefore I don't have much to complain about. The sleeve is doing what its supposed to. I have been having cravings but this sleeve has kept those in check and I love that. I was in denial about how much I let food run my life. I wasn't an emotional eater or junk food binger. My problem was that I loved good food and didn't know how to portion control. Being raised in a family that made sure your plate was cleared probably contributed to this problem.
That's neither here nor there now. I loved me then and I'm loving me even more now and excited to be a part of this community and having positive people who can relate to share my journey with. I'm a kind, open minded, loving, and down to earth person. I'm here to help and receive help so don't be a stranger.
