Yeah. I had it on the liquid diet too. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
Feeling shakey in the AM
daniotra replied to applejenn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wouldn't do fruit juice. That's mostly sugar and may make it worse. Try some more complex carbs. Fruit juice or milk in the morning would be a quick fix for the shakiness in the morning. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
I would be concerned about staying hydrated. If you have trouble getting your fluids in, it would be best to reschedule. You also don't know how much energy you will have at that point. You may be doing great, or you may be dragging through your days. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

There is no way a tablespoon of powder can have 30 grams of Protein. A tablespoon of Water is 14-15 grams, and the powder is not as dense as water. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I think they specifically mean the crackers that have lots of visible grains to them. It should be something that would completely turn to mush when soaked in Water. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I thought you looked fabulous. I liked your positivity. It was a good reminder that it's OK to like how you look at any size. Most of us are doing WLS for health, not beauty. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Question about Fruit
daniotra replied to TipTop in TX's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wouldn't stress about the grams of carbs. Eat Protein first, then veggies, then fruit and other carbs. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
Marinara sauce - puréed stage suggestions
daniotra replied to Red_lips_and_confidence's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Unfortunately, every program is different. eggs are a popular soft food, but my program restricts them to after 8 weeks because my docs have seen issues with eggs in their patients. The ricotta bake should be fine. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
Yes, you're insane. if you were able to go back to work so fast after the other surgeries, you should be fine. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

My surgeon recommends waiting til 8 weeks out for eggs. Apparently he had several patients that had issues with eggs and recommends waiting now. I found it surprising as soft scrambled eggs are commonly mentioned as early soft foods. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Which Question or Suggestion Are You Sick of Hearing?
daniotra replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I'm sure in the not too distant future the comment my husband will be tired of will be "I'll just share his!" I love cooking. I have a huge collection of cookbooks. Weight loss surgery doesn't mean I can't enjoy food any longer. It means that I need to make every bite count. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
Not losing, confused and frustrated
daniotra replied to mom2wils's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Weird. Usually the minimum is 60 grams of Protein for women and 70-80 for men. Surprising he had you cut back. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
This is correct. Your doctor can give you a medication(actigall?) that helps protect the gallbladder. My doc prescribes it for six months following surgery. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Vertigo and dizziness

I found the "ethnic" hair products I use for my daughter are great for keeping in the shine and moisture. Look for items that have a lot of natural oil content. I particularly like the Shea Moisture line. For something dirt cheap and effective, take a little coconut oil between your palms and then massage it into your hair as a leave-in conditioner. You only need a little bit. It does not make your hair look greasy. Olive oil works well too. I've been using Nexxus Therappe shampoo and humectress conditioner on my own hair for the past several years. My hair is shiny, minimal split ends, even after two years without a cut, and behaves fairly well. When I need a little something more, or I want definition without it being crunchy, I dip into the products I bought for my daughter. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

How old is too old to be sleeved?
daniotra replied to silverthreads's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
It's really going to depend on the surgeon and her overall health. One program I looked into didn't do surgery on people over 70, but others may be willing to do so if the patient is a good candidate health wise. Call and talk to a couple practices and see if they are willing to consider someone of your mother's age. If so, it may be worth looking into. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
Do you have any issues with acid reflux? If so, RNY is probably a better choice. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

How Often Do You Weigh Yourself?
daniotra replied to psvzum's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You have to find what works for you. I personally weigh in every day, but I don't obsess over the number. If the number on the scale becomes too emotionally charged for you, then it is better to weigh weekly or monthly so you don't see the daily fluctuations caused by salt, hormones, poop, etc. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
