Yup! I knew my husband was a keeper when on our second meeting we talked all the way to San Francisco and back (a two hour drive each way). We've been together for almost 15 years now. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

This thread should give you the info you want. Lots of encouraging stories re: the bedroom department, including several men saying that they've regained inches downstairs. http://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/219760-sex-oh-my-god-sex/ Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I find it slow also. The website itself hasn't been much better in the past few weeks. The app also crashes frequently. I've been sending the crash logs almost every time. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Foamy protein shakes
daniotra replied to plakbusta's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My son is on a specialized formula as he is tube fed. I found that putting the formula in a covered container and smacking the bottom of the bottle on the counter a few times knocks a lot of the bubbles out. I pour it into a bottle, screw on the lid, then bang the bottom flat against the counter three of four times. If he's being extra sensitive, I can then pour the bottom layer out as it is nearly bubble free. I've also noticed that certain brands are foamier than others. A different brand may be better for you. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
What did YOU do to celebrate entering "One-derland"?
daniotra replied to talking mountain's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I'm nowhere close, but I plan on going horseback riding and buying a pair of awesome boots when I get there. I've always had really thick calves, so it would be wonderful to be able to wear boots. As for affordable things, a new swimsuit or other piece of clothing that makes you feel awesome. A stylish new haircut, a massage, a mani-pedi. Something to make you feel good. It's probably minor tearing of the skin from the hard poop. You should definitely call your doctor and check in though. You may need a stool softener or some such to help you out. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Is losing too much weight effect your qualification for surgery?
daniotra replied to BeeRodMul's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
My insurance company takes the highest weight from the previous year to qualify you. I think that's one year from the time you enter the program, not one year from surgery date. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
I didn't know! A tale of woe

You will probably still need to take the classes required by Kaiser, but they should accept your labs and paperwork showing you did the diet and such. Good luck! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
Having the hardest time teaching myself to eat slowly
daniotra replied to katanne's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Counting the number of chews makes a difference. Put down your fork between bites. Some people set a timer, eat a few bites, wait, eat a few more. Good luck! I'm still pre-op and trying to learn this skill. It's hard when my kids need attention and I'm trying to slow down. It's stressful! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
I used to ride daily when I was nearly 300 lbs. it takes a while to build up your tolerance to the seat, and you can get replacement seats. Go for it. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Starch Powder in Recipe?
daniotra replied to MozzaWehsha's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
pudding can be thickened with eggs, flour, or starch. If I recall, Jello pudding is a basic cornstarch pudding. It should be fine. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
Probably hormones. I had this issue when I was on a certain birth control pill back in my 20s. I switched pills and the magic came back. Your body will most likely sort itself out when you hit maintenance, if not before. If not, there are lots of fun lubes. Try a silicone based one if you haven't before. One of my favorites from that blog is the roasted chickpeas with Moroccan spices. The spice blend is fabulous on veggies and meats (chicken and pork) as well. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Reglan is nasty stuff. Are you familiar with the side effects? It can cause tics that may or may not resolve when you stop the med. My son was on it for a while as an infant due to motility issues. He did develop a tic, but it thankfully cleared up once the med stopped. If it's a motility issue, low dose erythromycin sometimes works. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

GP says to do Weight Watchers instead
daniotra replied to careya123's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Your doctor is right that you need to get your eating habits in order before doing surgery. That's why so many programs require 3-6 months of nutrition counseling before surgery. It sounds like he's dead set against it, though, when he should have outlined pros and cons and possibly suggested three months of weight watchers or another program prior to sending over the referral.
