Awee sorry to hear that . family could be worse than a stranger. It can be alot of things maybe they are just to scared or this is how they deal with the fear .... My friend /supervisor supports me all the way cause she knows a pack of wild horses couldn't stop me if they tried. that is what she always say to me. as long as you did your research and you feel comfortable you do you... another reason not to tell many people. on tuesday when i went April 5 to have my surgery (revision ) band to sleeve my husband was taking me and guess who popped up at my house at 8 am ... yes my mom who i didnt tell because i dont want to hear her mouth and for her to be worried. so i was rushing out and she asked if i was leaving for work so early i said No no work going to get epidural shot in my back she knows of my back problem so she is use to that. Yup did not tell her.. Unfortunately i didn't get the sleeve done cause my band had slipped and doc said that he wanted to let my stomache heal cause it was bruised and too close to my esophogus. so im scheduled for May 24 for the sleeve. he did take the band out. so just healing now.. sooooooo i already told my mom im going back may 24the for another set of shots and this time i might stay over. lololol whatever works. i usually tell her after i do things like liposuction, the band ect.. because again i did my research im very comfortable with my decision and my hubby is my support no matter what i do.. Where do you live. do you have friends that can come and get you. is there a bariatric group that you go to maybe someone there can help you out. if not girlll get in a cab and go home...dont sweat it. Im in Rockland County NY if you are around let me know.

as promised i said i will report the verdict of my EXTERNAL APPEAL APPROVED !! Surgery Tomorrow. Thank you so much everyone for all the support and riding the emotional rollercoaster ride with me. Bill Yanez i want to thank you for your professionalism and your understanding. Although i am not having surgery in Mexico i will be your number one fan and of course i will send anyone to you that may have to come to Mexico for surgery...I was finally approved with the External Appeal after being denied 2x.(within 72 hours).. Again Thanks Everyone and Good Luck on your new Sexy!

APPROVED!!!! Yes after 2 denials from insurance company my doc sent the information to the NYS External Approval DFS expedited 3 business days ago... Approved today Surgery Tomorrow .....

MoeJoe 27, Its such a long story, Im just besides myself the last 3 days Tues Wed Thurs has been like a rollercoaster ride from hell. I will report on the 5th Monday. I promise.

While I found my surgery buddy here, you can also post in the Bariatric Pal Team MX Facebook group if you are looking for someone to buddy up with. You are still in good hands even if you have to go it alone, and they will attend to your every need while you are there, but it is nice to have someone to go through the experience with you. Im so excited and nervous at the same time so you can imagine how my tummy feels. i'm flying to Mexico by myself i didn't want to post that publicly . i hope i didn't in the midst of my excitement. lolol can you give me an update are you in pain did you experience anything that required a visit to doctor or hospital when you came back home. i was reading i think MOEJOE said that she found a doctor that will see her for aftercare if need be . well i asked my doctors coordinator if he will because he did my lapband 10 years ago and SHE said he doesn't see patients that had surgery in MEXICO. did you have one or need one. my primary care know im getting procedure done (revision) but i have not told her that im going to mexico now. should i ? Hi All i MIGHT. wont know until tomorrow or Tuesday when my doc does the peer to peer with my insurance they denied me 2x but i m still fighting cause its a revision from a useless band to the SLEEVE.. i already sent my paperwork questionaire to Bill and Doctor approved me. So Bill is just waiting for me to call him yay or nay so we can set up my date. i AM getting it in April just not sure where right now (in the states or in Mexico).... I hope when i get a date if im going to Mexico i can find a buddy too. Hey it might be as fast as the 11 my tentative date here is April 5th so im ready ... im doing my pre diet which for basically is eating light. and the day before liqids only. ... i wrote on one of the mexican boards already and when someone writes something it doesn't notify my in my email like all the other boards why is that? i have to keep coming back and reading new things on this forum..

Hey sweet caroline midwest......im tentative in the states for APRIL 5th waiting for peer to peer on Monday my insurance denied me 2x and the reason is BMI not hi enough 35 or 36 i forgot but i have the lapband and my weight is creeping back up but not FAST enough for insurance purposes. i think it is STUPID if the band failed you and you had lost all the weight that you were suppose too and then the band doesn't work anymore it should be an automatic approval .... there is documented proof that i worked my band like a beast we did good together until i got horrible reflux and heartburn so its useless and useless plus eating = gaining... so monday my doc and insurance doc battle it out whoever wins will determine where i get it done lolol im set for April 5 in the states but im approved with dr. Illan in Mexico just waaiting for the approve or denial.. but im having my surgery in APRIL no matter where.. who's doing yours in Mexico...?? we gotta do what we gotta do .... im just tired of waiting..

kelly84 hang in there sweetie this will be over soon. i know exactly how you feel i keep saying by the time this is over i'll probably will be bipolar or something my mood swings are off the hook and until i know exactly when and where my surgery is going to be im a mess. Your just waiting for a date?
