    Exhausted! 6 days post-op

I feel you OP. I had RNY March 22 and I need a nap everyday to function. Our bodies just went through a major surgery and we are still healing. Between healing and our diet being very low calorie right now, it's no wonder we're so tired!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

IUD - What should I expect?

I have a mirena. I'm on my second one actually since I had the first one put in a little over five years ago. You'll get some cramping but nothing that is unbearable. I love my mirena, wouldn't go back to anything else. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Bypass vs Sleeve

My surgery date is next Tuesday, but I went with the RNY because I wanted the most restrictive option since I have a lot of weight to lose. My mom also had bariatric surgery---she started with the lap-band and revised to the sleeve, and she's having a hard time losing more. I'm surprised by how much she can still eat, so I definitely am happy thus far with my decision for the RNY. We'll see how surgery goes.

    How long

My surgery is next Tuesday. I had my first consult on my 30th birthday on June 4, 2015. I started at 59% BMI. My insurance requires 6 months dietitian supervised weight loss attempts. I also had an upper GI, three psychology appointments, one exercise physiologist appointment, pre-op class, EKG, chest x-ray, pre-op labwork, anesthesiologist consult, pre-op meeting with surgeon. It's a lot of appointments but will be worth it!

    The Me vs Her Perspective

Thank you for sharing this. I'm one week pre-surgery, and each day gets a bit more emotional as I realize that I'm saying goodbye to this body and will be molding a new one.

My surgery is one week from today

I'm having RNY on March 22. The pre-op diet is killing me. My bariatric program is very strict...protein shakes and clear sugar free liquids only.
