    800-1,000 Calories

Greek Yogurt. My NUT also told me to start adding some 100% fruit juice in to get more calories. So I drink a little more OJ

Two weeks post op and gaining?

Give your self a break, and put away the scale. Your body is still healing so it is going to be out of wack for a while. You'll gain, you'll lose, you'll stall. Embrace the stall!! It will break. You'll drive yourself insane if you weigh every day. Put it away, and let yourself heal. Then after that, start to weigh yourself again.

    4 month stall

I'm right there with you on the ~month long stall. I've been losing and gaining the same 2 pounds over and over again. I thought I broke it the other day when I dipped down to 213, but the next day, I was right back to my 215 stall number. I'm not worried, I feel good, and I know I'm doing the work.

    Time to drink or eat

Was anyone else told by their NUT and/or Surgeon, that if it takes you longer than 30 minutes to finish your meal, just stop. Put it away and then continue it for your next meal a couple of hours late. I was told that if after 30 minutes I still have half a Protein shake left... stop drinking and put it in the fridge. I can finish the other half during the next meal. I'm assuming the reason behind this is to break away from the "grazing" habit.

    Still smoking

Might be silly, but why would you want to risk it. There's a reason why surgeons want you to stop smoking before surgery. In my program, they would even cancel the surgery if they discovered you were smoking (they run tests). You're taking HUGE step to change your life. I wouldn't do anything to sidetrack or derail it.

    Still smoking

I would find a therapist ASAP!! Why risk your life by damaging your sleeve/pouch by lighting up?? You need to STOP now. It could be a matter of life and death. If you weren't ready to stop smoking for good, then I think the surgery was probably a bad decision.

    Middle of the night gnawing....

Since you are just in the early days of post-op, you can't really trust the signals that your new stomach is giving you. it is still in the healing phase, so it's all confused!! There should be no reason that you're feeling real hunger. I have to agree, it is most likely acid.
  8. I know this isn't your plan, and you NEED to follow up with your team, but this may give you a good guideline of what you should be doing right now: https://www.tuftsmedicalcenter.org/~/media/Brochures/TuftsMC/Patient Care Services/Departments and Services/Weight and Wellness Center/GBP Diet Manual12611.ashx
  9. What do the rules say about eating soft foods so early after surgery? I would assume that you are on full liquids, or maybe at most on pureed foods. If you don't know where you should be on your plan, call your Surgeon or NUT ...I've been listening to my body and obeying the rules...

    Seriously?

The posts about putting rolls of quarters in pockets to set an artificial highest weight at first weigh in is sickening. Lying from the start.... Sent from my SM-G930V using the BariatricPal App Unless the artificial high weight was needed to meet some arbitrary requirement to get the surgery covered by insurance. That's the only way I can see the "roll of quarters" being ok. But make sure you own it!!

    Slow Weight Loss

You may need to up your calories a little bit. Check with your NUT. Mine had me up mine to 1400 because I was running so much.

    Alcohol

Finally found a case study that didn't lump VSG and RYN together. This study was for VSG only. http://www.academia.edu/11697223/Alcohol_metabolism_is_not_affected_by_sleeve_gastrectomy Good read!
  13. I've gone from 42" to 38" in 3 months. My 38's are starting to fit a bit loose, so it may be time to go and try on some 36's!!

    Not losing weight

Read up on the 3 week stall. It happens to everyone!! Embrace the stall! Don't worry.. it will pass

  16. Next time, just have some fried chicken, and drink a beer! oops.. wrong threads. sorry.
  17. You're still healing.. Give yourself a break!! You just started the 3 week stall a bit early. Don't worry about it. It will break. Just stay on plan.

    Fried chicken

Yes.. chicken is great. But fried chicken is death!! (ok. that's a little exaggerated)
  19. kzoojason76

    Fried chicken

I swear these people that post eating fried chicken are trolls. Who in their right mind would want to eat the same $#!T that got them to the point of needing this surgery in the first place. Don't they realize this surgery isn't the cure to eat whatever the he!! you want.

    BMI pre op

41 at my highest (first weigh in of my 6 month mandatory diet) 30.7 as of today (exactly 3 months post-op)
  21. That's a little bit too high in the fat to Protein ratio for my taste. I like the Quest Nutrition bars myself. My fav right now is the oatmeal chocolate Chip Nutritional Facts Serving Size: 1 Bar (60g) Amount/Serving Calories 190 Calories from Fat 70 %Daily Value* Total Fat 8g 12% Saturated Fat 1.5g 8% Trans Fat 0g Cholesterol 5mg 2% Sodium 180mg 8% Potassium 120mg 3% Total Carbohydrate 22g 7% Dietary Fiber 15g 60% Sugars 1g Erythritol 2g Protein 20g Vitamin A 0% Vitamin C 0% Calcium 15% Iron 4% Phosphorous 15% Magnesium 8%

    Sandwich Wraps

6 weeks may be a little early for lettuce, so make sure you check with your NUT/Surgeon. I was told not to eat lettuce until after 3 months post-op

6 months after my pre-op diet began...

We have almost identical starting stats. It's nice to know what I can look forward to! Keep up the great work!
