  1. Sure hope this all ends for you soon. I'm curious: if this is the second most painful experience....what was the first? I am constantly questioning the sense behind why things happen and how. I am so grateful for living in a time that isn't the "good ole days". My list actually starts with air conditioning with #2 being painkillers.

    New Here

I have not met with a dietician yet. I'm going to whine for a minute. I'm on day three of no "white" food. Struggling a bit; I'm hungry. The food journaling helps. So far I've stayed under 900 calories per day. I have a headache. Someone said that getting to Ketosis will be easier after a few days. Struggling to drink the 90 ounces of Water. Ok, done whining. I had my Psych eval yesterday and was approved for surgery through them. Now the doctor's office can submit it to my insurance. Then I guess we wait. In the meantime, I have all of the other appointments to go to: Cardiology, Pulmonary, Endoscopy, blood work.

    New Here

I'm new here. Hello to all! I just had my first consultation appointment with the surgeon on Monday and have started the high Protein, low carb eating plan. I'm really struggling with it - I feel so hungry all of the time. I'm not even absolutely sure which surgery type I am going to have. I have lots of questions so will be reading the forums a lot! I'm type 2 diabetic, not on insulin, but I do take an injectable drug called Byetta twice a day with meals. I feel like I don't know what to eat and wondered if anyone knows where I can go to get a printed diet that tells me exactly what to eat and when. I am keeping a food journal. I have all of my pre-surgery appointments scheduled but I don't know my surgery date yet. P.S. I have a headache.
  4. I had a kidney stone about a year ago. It passed on its own. I had 3 unmedicated births and, quite frankly, I'd rather do that again instead of the stone. I'm in WA state also. I was treated at Valley Medical in Renton. I wish you good luck.
  5. The doctor gave me a list of foods that I am allowed to eat but didn't give me any guidelines on how much of those foods to eat. I'm interested in a menu that I can follow. Thanks for your explanation of Ketosis. I was just looking that up and trying to determine if it was a good thing or not. Sounds like it may be good. In that case, I can hardly wait to get there.
