Question...most of you may be too young for this question. I'm 52 and before surgery for at least the past year I have been suffering from "HOT FLASHES" and night sweats....since surgery I have NOT had one!!!! That's definitely a positive thing that has came out of surgery LOL Sent from my SM-G920T using the BariatricPal App

Vitamins are going pretty good....I have some Gummi vitamins and also take B12 that melts under my tounge....and some chewable Calcium. I have all these in pills to swallow too. Depending on the day and how I feel I either take the pill and swallow it or do a chewable. I do need to check back with my doctor and make sure that it's okay to do it the way I'm doing. I think all the versions I take are the proper amounts that I'm supposed to be taking Sent from my SM-G920T using the BariatricPal App

Did you stop your antidepressant at the same time you had surgery? I'm sorry to hear you're feeling down. From what everybody says, it's common and it will pass but right now I'm sure that doesn't really help. Are the quads pretty much taken care of? Sent from my SM-G920T using the BariatricPal App I stopped a month or so before surgery because the one I was on was coated so it couldn't be crushed....I thought it was the common down feeling but it's just gotten worse to a point I don't even speak to anyone and have lost complete interest in everything so I know it's a little deeper so I figured to start up again won't hurt....the clots are still under monitoring unfortunately the treatment that could be given to break them down giving me much needed relief is too dangerous because I'm so soon post op so I kind of have to just continue on with my thinners and hopefully my body will break them down on its own. The pain has relieved tremendously however when it comes it's terrible...the shortness of breath they say is cause of them but shouldn't be as severe as it is however after numerous tests they still can't find the cause so back to the surgeon n pcp I go to figure smthn out Sent from my iPhone using BariatricPal I hope to get off my depression meds one day but I didn't think it would be a good idea to do it anytime soon. I hope that things get better for you after you start them back up...that's no fun to feel so down. Clots- they make me nervous, but it sounds like they are on top of it. Same here, I feel I should be working on my wings and belly but I have stuck with just walking. I've been very active though...I'm running around all day and chasing and lifting my grandbaby (she's a chunk, I shouldn't be lifting her yet) Everytime I think about doing something with my abs though I can easily convince myself it's too early Sent from my SM-G920T using the BariatricPal App

I didn't use any butter oil to fry my egg..... just the slightest bit of spray. Pureed some salmon and pureed chicken, ham, scrambled eggs, I even have to puree my cottage cheese, refried beans, split pea Soup, broccoli... and I've had some cream of wheat. Not much else..... I have some cravings and I have some a head Hunger but I haven't really eaten much other than that. July 7th is a significant amount of time to stay on pureed...every doc is different. It's funny, if I'm out and about shopping, running around during the day I don't think I'd ever need to eat, it's pretty much when I'm home I feel the need to eat. Surgery tomorrow freaking out
Pup replied to Chez2812's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hello, take a deep breath your having a lot of the same questions/worry as I did .....I'm 3 weeks post op......I'm so happy I did this. What really helped me to clear things up and relax about if this was going to be the right decision for me was, I made a list of all the pros and cons of getting surgery and what life would be if I didn't get it. My pros list out weighed my cons list by a lot. After that I realized I was doing what was best for me. (I also prayed for peace with my decision and God granted me that too) I'm 52 years old, 5' 5" and my weight just kept creeping up and up....225 lbs....I was diagnosed with severe sleep apnea about 2 years ago and also have high cholesterol. I was worried about developing diabetes because it runs in my family. My back hurt when walking any distance and especially when I was trying to carry my grandbaby. For me, I wanted to be able to be healthy and an active grandma and wife. Hopefully you'll get a lot of response back on this thread to ease your mind. Sent from my SM-G920T using the BariatricPal App
