    Hunger!

Are you taking anything for acid? You might have developed GERD since surgery, that would make you feel hungry all the time. I am. They have me on a PPI. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  2. I called my NUT today. I was told weeks 3-8 are the slowest for weight loss. I know this isn't my thread but I chimed in, so I apologize if I stole anyone's thunder. I was sleeved 2/23. So almost 1 month post op. Tying to diversify without adding carbs or raw veggies (man I miss salads!!) has been a challenge. I have been eating a lot of Soup. My NUT assures me my weigh loss may be slower (I'm up to about 1000 calories a day) but that I'm doing what I should be and in the end the results will be the same. Was good to hear! I feel much better. Maybe you should give your NUT a call too? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  3. This has been the hardest for me too! I'm not 25, but let's face it, drinks and dinner are most people's "thing". That's what we do in rural America anyway. I haven't told everyone I know that I had WLS so I feel isolated not being able to do either. Now that I'm moving into the phase where I can at least eat, I'm hopeful I can start to socialize again. 4. Yesterday I had 46 grams of Protein, today it's been 54. I think for 3 weeks post op that's good. No?? NUT wasn't concerned at my 2 wk checkup. I think she said 40-60 at this stage, for an average. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  5. Mashed potatoes are soft but don't have any Protein. How are you getting in your protein? Protein shakes. Two days ago started with soft diet so now it's egg, ground beef, tuna, cheese, etc. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  6. I've been eating a lot of mashed potatoes because it's on the list for soft foods. Maybe that's it?! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  7. Neither my surgeon or NUT really give me a diet. He says it's a lifestyle change so I need to learn to eat healthy, and not totally restrict or I'll end up failing like all other diets. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  8. Ugh! I'm with you! Sleeved 2/23. Lost 15lbs and my scale hasn't budged since 3/6. I want to cry! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App I've read there are stalls but 9 days already!?? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Hunger!

I'm always hungry! Never felt like this before I had surgery and it's not "head hunger" either. I'm not an emotional eater, I too just made bad choices when I would finally get really hungry around 2pm each day. (Always skipped Breakfast so this would be "lunch" for me.) I was sleeved on 2/23. Still transitioning to soft foods. I'm hoping this goes away once I can eat more in the future. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Early weight loss stall

I was sleeved 2/23. Also been stalled at about a 15lb loss for a week. For me, it's incredibly challenging emotionally because with soooo many failed attempts at weight loss, this feels like yet another process that "doesn't work". I keep telling myself that cannot possibly be true. But after such an extreme and what feels like ultimate, last resort, measure, it's like "oh god, now this one too?!?? I'm NEVER going to lose!" I keep telling myself it has to work, but the brain still keeps having the same old emotions firing. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  11. I was sleeved 2/23. Also hit a plateau a few days ago and haven't lost for 4-5 days. It's easy to have feelings of failure from past diets creep in and discourage me. I keep telling myself this time it WILL work. But patients is a difficult virtue for me so I can relate! Stay strong and remember why you did this. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  12. Here's a quick pict of my "indent".
  13. Hello all! I'm new here. Had my sleeve surgery 2/23. One of my incisions is very indented, has a lump under and is sore. All the rest have healed up well and I'm feeling great. This is my only trouble area. I see the surgeon Monday, for my post op checkup, but it is concerning to me and I'm impatient. Has anyone else experienced this? 14. @@Bufflehead, that's funny because I just came on here a few days ago with ZERO regrets (sleeved 2/23) and was thinking "man, a lot of people are having a hard time at this stage. Maybe something is "wrong" with me? It's been too easy." Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  15. I'm sorry you're going through this. I was sleeved on 2/23. I'm not feeling quite the same about friends but my spouse isn't as supportive as I thought he'd be so I can relate to the disappointment. It's hurtful. But keep your focus on the reason you did this. It's not for your friends. It's for you! Your health! Friends and weight have a strange relationship. One of my "good" friends the other day finally called and then told me she was jealous and knew that it was wrong, that she should be happy but she's just jealous. Who knows what's going on with your pals. Just keep your eye on the prize and find some good distractions. This site has really helped me for that. Good luck!! Sensitive subject

I've always had a high drive and am one week post op, feeling great and wishing I was two weeks post op already! This is not something I'd read when I researched prior to surgery so thank you for posting it! It helps to know what could happen, down the road! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  17. Funny, I can't get mine to show up! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  18. I'm 7 days post op and it took me about 5 days to figure out the stabbing pain I was experiencing was "hunger!" I don't get any other feeling to indicate I need to eat, other than quick 3-5 seconds jolts of fairly intense pain. I'm on all liquid diet right now, and am taking protonix. Anyone else experience this? If so, does it go away eventually? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  19. I'm experiencing the same bevewhite. I accidentally got "full" the first day home after surgery. It was the most disgusting feeling, experience and taste I've ever endured so I'm very careful now. As soon as I start to feel the pressure I stop. I'm also measuring everything and am worried about the future when I don't have the ability to do so (like eating out or at someone else's house.) Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    New Sleeve

We are sleeve buddies! I got mine on the 23rd also! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  21. I had my sleeve done on the 23rd also. I was on clear liquids the first two days, then full liquids. I have been doing ok on strained cream Soups, pudding, yogurt, Jello, etc. I am able to move on to puréed food this Friday, according to my surgeon, but I'm really nervous about it! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  22. I'm 7 days post op and drove for the first time on Saturday. My only restriction was to be off pain meds, which was no problem...I was off by Friday. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  23. I had my sleeve surgery the same day! I'm feeling great other than pretty intense pain when I'm "hungry." Had my first BM on Saturday. Without eating there isn't much, but I've been good about getting my liquids in and have had no diarrhea. You may want to ask the dr. My friend who is about 8 weeks out had a similar experience and it was C-Dif Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
