Help...I have'nt been on the sight for a long, long, time. I was banded a year ago in Jan. I started out of the gates just fine, doing what I was supposed with diet and excercise. I lost my mother suddenly 6 months ago and fell off the wagon completely. I did not care about anything. I am very depressed because this is a year later and I wanted to have a substantial amount of weight off and of course do not. Any suggestions for getting back on? I need help!!!!:help: :help: :help:

I am in the same boat you are in. I just posted a similar question about getting back on track. I feel like I need a do-over. I'll watch this thread for more suggestions too. -
Just wondered if anyone else ever had this happen. I was fine slept like a log last night then I got up and went to start a load of laundry and had to run up the stairs to get to the bathroom. I dry heaved in the waste basket and thank god I was already sitting on the toilet!!! (For those of you wondering....I got my tubes tied the same time I got my band ) I did feel very full when I went to bed last night, but I did'nt think I ate that much. Any ideas, is this band related? or just a bug. I felt fine the rest of the day, and everyone else is fine too?

hey all!!!! I haven't been here in awhile...been busy with school. I was banded 1/9 and am finally happy with m restriction. finally starting to lose steadily and cannot wait to start buying clothes again!!!!

I'm bad, I drink all the time with meals. I just don't chug like I used too.
-
could any of you actually access your own port, better yet, would you even want to?

I also have a 10 cc band and have had 2 fills now (banded 1/9/06) I am also in the same boat. I have a appt. scheduled for th 30th. So far I've just heard it's harder to hit the sweet spot with the bigger bands?

Depressed, I am hungry every 2 hours!!

I was happy to see this post because my scale has been going up and down now for about two weeks and it's making me crazy. I'm able to eat a horse one day and then I can't eat anything the next. (probably still full from eating a horse) lol. -
Dont Fret!!!!! This is the way the procedure goes. The first 4-6 weeks is for you stomach to heal and for your stomach to have the time to let the swelling go down. Your stomach has been through alot and is swollen and has stitches in it and is sore. There is no room for a fill right now. I too felt like I was losing time. But hang in there and let your stomach get used to having a band around it. Most docs do this I'm assuming because of the swelling. If you had anything in your band right away, I guess it would be hard to tell if it was a proper fill until you are healed. Take your time, heal yourself, and just think to yourself, it took you how many years to put the weight on, a few more weeks will be ok. Stay focused and you'll be ok!

ok, I just have to say, I love you for posting this question Kim.. I too as you know was banded in January. Had my first fill the end of Feb. There are days when I actually forget to eat...and days like my Taco Bell indulgence yesterday...could eat everything in sight. And I did. I don't get it. Should I keep my appt. for the 30th? I can gulp my Water still too by the way. Can't stand the thought of eating in the morning and force my self (sometimes) to eat lunch and I don't have a problem with dinner at the moment. I know, even though I'm not counting, I am not getting in 1200 or even 1000 cals at this point.

:cry I'm still about 2 weeks out from getting my first fill. Funniest thing happened today.....had a Arby's sandwich for lunch and had the hardest time with it. Never did before but today was weird. I had the hardest time getting it down. I finally just threw it back in the bag and just drank my crysal light (when I was able to breath again of course) Then I thought I was going to hurl it all back up. Like it was just sitting there waiting to come but it never did. My mouth started to water and I was trying to spit, actually it was "slimy" was this PB'ing or Sliming as I've often heard it called. I started to think that maybe I actually was starting to feel some restriction because I'm kind of having a hard time in that dept too. :phanvan Just wondered.

I carry a huge 70 oz water bottle around with me all the time. I drink 2 a day... sometime I put crystal light in it to mix it up a bit.
-
by the way, if you stretch out your top pouch can you shrink it back?
-
Thanks all.... I've discovered today that I may not be giving myself a chance to find out if I truly have restriction. I think I'm eating "around the band" a little too often. But the sliming thing was definatly a wake up call!!!

I've always though your avatar was so cute... So this is what sliming is :faint: Do you think this is what restriction is for me or that I just had a hard time with that particular food?
-

When did your fills really start to work for you?
Toledogirl replied to NJChick's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
he said liquids the rest of the day yesterday and then take it easy today. I hardly ate at all today, it was kind of weird. -

Hey all, went back to the doc yesterday, he put in another 3 cc's. I couldn't get the Water down, it was sitting in my throat. Took out 1 cc and now I'm at 7 cc's. I think I definatly have restriction now but just when I think I could eat a horse, I eat a little and I am full. Still feel like water sits in my throat sometimes. Am I too full or just right? -

Is this what restriction feels like?
Toledogirl replied to JanetC's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Janet, Have you tried drinking your Water in sips and at room temp. I just got my first fill and felt like water was sitting right in my throat. But if I drink it room temp it is much easier.
