good morning dear,
I am doing well and hope you are too. I have lost another 4 pounds so that makes me 19 pounds down. I have a bleeding disorder that i have had for 9 years. and with all the fiber and protein it made me bleed excessively. I am going to do the 1600 calorie since that is working for me right now. I would love to keep in touch with you as well you know we can't have too many sister friends. lol Take care and hope to hear from you again soon.

good morning gg,
Thought i better tell you the bad news, I am not going to be getting banded. I got very sick this weekend and lost alot of blood. Talk to my dr and he said that now that this has happened i cn not ever have the band. But i am going to continue to with my 1600 calorie.
THanks for all your support during this time and i hope we can still be friends.
I will keep you posted on my 1600 calorie diet progress.

Hello,
I was just checking in and thought i would drop in to say hello and to let you know that i am on day two of my liquid diet. It is going ok right now the only thing that is bothering me is that i am staying cold all the time. i am a little bit hungry today but i just keep drinking.

hello there i finally got around to reading my messages and thanks for checkin in on me . So far my surgery date is Aug.13th and they wavierd the fee. And i have lost a total of 14.5 pounds preop. i am happy to hear that youwill be banded very soon keep me posted on your progress. If i don;t answer back no that you are not forgotten.

I just want to inform anyone who is about to have lapband surgery that please beware of your surgeons office charging you a program fee. I was contacted today by my surgeons office and was told that when i arrive for my appointment I am to pay a one time fee of 300.00 which is a program fee. When i asked about when this program fee started i was told that I just started this week. I also asked what did this 300.00 cover and was told that mostly all of the paper work that they need to obtain after approval. It also covered refferals for the nutritionalist and other things. I truly feel that i have been very unfairly treated and that i should not be required to pay this fee becasue i was already in the program before they started the fee. Just wanted to give a heads up to please be ware of hidden fees to be paid at time of service. :thumbup:

Thanks for all your replys and the problem has been solved! I called this morning and they waviered the fee for those of us that were already in the program and the new ones calling about the seminar are now being told about the fee. See great things happen for those who believe!!!

hey happy fourth of July !
Well i did pass my psych eval. and i got my appt date for my lapband class and for the shocker they called me today to tell me i needed to pay out of pocket a onetime fee of 300.00 for program fee. Girl when they told me this i went off becasue i asked them when did you start this program fee and she said we just started it. They are messing with peoples lives here. It is terrible i think there should be a patient advocate for this kind of stuff. just wanted to let you know what is happening to me .

I really don't know if i can or not but if i have to that will be no problem. i also found out that they are trying to become a center of excellence. And since my hubby is going to have the surgery around the same time this would mean it would cost me 600.00.

Good morning ! I feel so smart now since i went to the shrink. LOL
She asked me all about the lapband procedure and i told her. She said you must work in a hospital or something becasue you used the word Protractors. I told her Nah I just looked it up in the dictionary and thought it was a good word to use. LOL I had to do a 370 question test that asked all kinda of silly questions. Now i am trying to get my pcp to write my letter of medical necessitity. (SP) I will know my results on Tommorrow evening. Good luck on your consultation.

So confused after 1st consultation

when i went for my seminar they basically tried to sell the gastric bypass instead of the lapband. The surgeon makes more money doing gastric bypass than lap band because there is more involved in the procedure and the time spent in the hospital is longer in which they have to make visits. I chose to have lapband because it is safer in the long run and you are not losing nutrition as with gastric bypass. Plus the mortality rate is higher in gastric bypass -
hello everybody, I am so excited about this surgery, my hubby said today that i will be so thrilled just to shop in a regular store or the goodwill for that much. He wants me to go first so he can take care of me and then i will take care of him when he goes. i feel very blessed to have a hubby like him because he really is a very special guy with a huge heart. Hi, My name is monica and i have a bmi over 60 I went for my seminar last night and weighed in at 366. I am hoping to lose 216 pounds to put me back at my high school weight of 150. I would love to make lots of new friends here on lapbandtalk. My hubby is also going to have the surgery along with me we are kinda teaming up.
