Bananas are NOT a low carb food
Christinamo7 replied to OutsideMatchInside's topic in Food and Nutrition
a full banana is not going to be 4 tbs. there are good people who get confused about measurements. however, a 1/4 of a cup of mashed banana was on my soft foods plan. they are not the devil, or equal to oreo Cookies. -
put chicken breasts in the crock pot for a few hours. juicy, tender, flavorful. and can add different seasonings after the fact to have more flavor variety in your diet.

Bananas are NOT a low carb food
Christinamo7 replied to OutsideMatchInside's topic in Food and Nutrition
a quick look tells me the banana has three times the Fiber of the Cookies and what, more than 8 times the potassium? I have been recommended by my nut to sometimes add 1/3 of a banana to my shake. Never ever has she said add a few oreos to your shake. none of us got fat by eating too many bananas/ but oreos? probably. you can not equate a whole food with processed junk. -
Maybe the third time's the charm
Christinamo7 replied to G33kg1rl's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I hope you are able to get the surgery! I have probable mild lymphoma so I had to jump through a LOT of hoops and delays before finally having my VSG performed and I know how maddening it can be. -

Weight loss after baby
Christinamo7 replied to mzcotton's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
you may not be eating enough. Please, if you have a NUT go over your requirements with her - or get with a La Leche person. I nursed all 7 of my babies, it was the best diet I was ever on. -
Are they any Tennessee Sleevers?

When Can I Start Eating Bread?
Christinamo7 replied to ImprovedDreamerGirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was cleared (medically safe) for all foods at my one month check. I have half a piece of oat bread toast with my eggs about 3 times a week and have had no problems with it. I do not find that I want more, or want carbs all the time. nutrition is right where it should be and my weight loss is right on track, per my bariatric practice. I would just choose a no sugar added jam if you do this, and treat it like a fruit serving. We made some strawberry freezer jam with stevia this summer which would be an appropriate choice if your plan, like mine allows fruit. -
well, I think what you are feeling is completely normal. it's a wild ride! first all the hoops we jump through to get approved, then the rapid changes. now settling in - and you have to figure out who you are now (body wise) it's like the changes we go through when puberty hits. as far as looking in the mirror and not seeing the changes, I think that is very common. I picked up a pair of size 12 pants the other day and thought these won't fit, look how small the rear is? and guess what? they do fit perfectly. I am used to being much larger. it takes a while for our minds to catch up. take a deep breath and get used to where you are currently before moving on to 140. you've got plenty of time. I was wondering how I would handle not having a belly that looked pregnant. side sleeper, used to resting my arm on my tummy. turns out it's been fine, my arm figures out where to go and rest comfortably.

Can I have bread and if not why?
Christinamo7 replied to kcirym2vp@yahoo.com's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was cleared (medically safe) for all foods at one month. and my program encourages a balanced approach to food. about 3 times a week I have half a piece of oat toast with my eggs at Breakfast with no problems. it is filling, but it really does help me to avoid constipation. before surgery I could eat a whole lot of good bread............. not any more. sometimes I can't finish my half a slice. but I do enjoy it still! I just somehow feel "done" or like I've had enough. -
Degenerative Disc Disease - Advice?
Christinamo7 replied to NewLifeFinny's topic in Fitness & Exercise
I was referencing her Yoga for back pain video, but I have several others and they are all good. Yoga for the rest of us is also nice. I bought mine used off Amazon after watching the PBS specials. what I like is that there is nothing crazy - nothing intimidating. She always has three people doing the stretches, one easy or modified, one regular and one advanced. so you always feel like you can fit in somewhere with what she is doing, and she is so gentle in her speaking and guiding. -

Thanks for your input! I will order Peggy's DVD. Do you feel any different since taking glucosomine? it has only been two weeks - but yes, I can tell a difference. went from needing Tylenol 3 times a day to some days not needing it at all, some days just needing it once. -

Can not stop losing weight.... Help
Christinamo7 replied to Scottyd1264's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
obviously this is not enough calories to live on. set a timer. prepackage Snacks to keep with you and work at it all day. clearly you can not rely on feeling hungry to trigger eating. either you will make it a priority to nourish your body now, or your body will make you pay for the neglect with poor health later. what are your Protein and calories needed in order to maintain the weight you want to be? and - if there is any fear of eating or fear of gaining weight get help to address that because you can't go on like this. avoiding food is as serious as overindulging. -
When do you delete your online dating profile?
Christinamo7 replied to SleeveSoon's topic in The Lounge
@@LowBMISleever YES. keep working on yourself and become the kind of person who would attract what you want. my first marriage was fine - we loved each other and if he hadn't changed (after going to war) I think we would have had a very comfortable, life long marriage. it was not fireworks but we grew up together, we were happy and wanted the same kind of lifestyle. this time? fireworks. we have some sort of crazy chemistry. and love very deeply but it is a lot more drama 20 years, neither was wrong, and you can be happy with love coming on gangbusters or love coming on slowly. don't be in a hurry, take your time, and it is fine to date just one person at a time. if they are not ready to be exclusive then I wouldn't pressure them, but if one person at a time works for you there is NOTHING wrong with that. learning honest communication is the key. wishing you all the best. -
When do you delete your online dating profile?
Christinamo7 replied to SleeveSoon's topic in The Lounge
I dunno. sometimes you're not sure if this is the person you want to focus on, sometimes you do know right away. My husband and I met online, but not in a dating site - this was the dark ages before electricity, lol. we were friends for about 6 months because I was DEAD SET against ever getting involved with a man again - no boyfriend, no dating, no remarriage. and he slowly won my trust and I agreed to meet in person. we knew that week that we never wanted to be away from each other again. and a few months shy of 20 years later we feel all that and more. The man knows what he wants and he makes very sure every day that I know that forever with me is what he wants. so if you're not sure, then keep the profiles and look around. if you want to focus on her to see if she is the one, hide them so they aren't distracting you - and if you know she is who you want to pursue then delete them and pursue her and see where it goes. -
Degenerative Disc Disease - Advice?
Christinamo7 replied to NewLifeFinny's topic in Fitness & Exercise
I manage mine with yoga for back pain (Peggy Cappy), Epsom salts baths and glucosomine/chondrotin with MSM. my issues with this and sciatic nerve pain have worsened since surgery overall - when needed I also take Tylenol. this manages my pain pretty well. -
Trying to not be jealous
Christinamo7 replied to Raynbolite's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
MEN. don't you love it? my husband does not have a weight problem. if he ever needs to loose it is 5-10 pounds- do you know what he does? he eats LESS potato chips. seriously. he doesn't STOP eating them, he just doesn't eat the whole bag. me? he better not put the bag between us because I will gain weight just being that close to them. your feelings are normal, and understandable - but they will not help you. come here to vent if you need to and then bless him. a year from now I hope you're both just where you need to be. -
How much should I be able to eat
Christinamo7 replied to gustavio's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
a banana is a food that is going to smush down and go through pretty easily. also, our stomachs once healed should be about that size. dense Protein should prove to be much more filling for you. -
Not a good day
Christinamo7 replied to Capricorn86's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
when is your one month check up? they should be able to advise you - you shouldn't have to put up with puking and dumping all the time. Hopefully they can get you sorted out. -
Anyone starting to think this isn't the "right" answer/tool?
Christinamo7 replied to Kelleylu's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
a lot of people expressed to me dismay over cutting out a "perfectly healthy organ" but to me my system was not perfectly healthy. I was hungry all the time. it would take me 3 or 4 times the amount of food I should have been eating just to feel satisfied. I don't know - in time, science may reveal causes of obesity - but in the mean time I have to live and be as healthy as I can. the surgery gave me that now my diabetes is GONE. and a normal child size portion satisfies me. completely satisfied. with a normal amount of food. I have never lost the weight before, and it feels wonderful all the changes in my body. I can't say if it is right for you, but most of us only feel like we should have done it sooner. Keep searching your heart and see whether you are ready for this or not. -
Can we talk carbs?
Christinamo7 replied to magoosmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@theantichick I am right there with you. and thankful my practice's plan is well balanced. not junk, but some whole grains yes, and fruit, yes. not a carb free for all, it is still considered low carb - but not ketosis. I am loosing weight nice and steady - and will get where I want to be before too long. (only a little more than 30 pounds to go to my goal!! I can NOT believe that! ) I do not do well with my brain when I do not have any carbs in my diet. -
I was cleared medically for all foods at one month. if you have been cleared you will probably do fine. it is a starchy veg, but you are not going to get very much per serving with one can in a whole thing of soup. you stomach may or may not like whole veg yet. go slowly.
