    there is an article in this month's Shape magazine (almost at the back) about foods that encourage healthy skin and not saggy. might be worth checking out.
  3. talk to your NUT. my swelling went down quickly and I was ready - spoke to my team and the asked me some questions about symptoms and cleared me to start a few days early.

    that's fabulous! a regular bath towel now reaches all the way around me with no gap. it boggles my mind.

    Short Sleevers?

    I am between 5'1" and 5'2" - but I am only a month and a half into the process. down almost 30 pounds. the main thing I am learning to keep account of is that my walking trackers think I have walked further because they count my steps and my stride is sooooooooo short. (wee little legs) :-) so I switched to a different program that uses GPS to give me a better idea.
  7. I have a little pill pack that goes with me in the morning. fill it up for the week on Sunday and I'm good to go. I have taken a number of supplements that I believe benefit good health for the last 13 years. then, as the day goes on I just pop in one or two every hour or so and by the afternoon I'm done with all that. I usually take my multi with Breakfast and cinnamon since the cinnamon can bother my tummy if not with food and then Calcium in the evening.
  8. it's good to know for sure. I know that people with reflux tend to be very happy with the bypass and I pray it will be the same for you.
  9. I completely agree with you! but when (not if, when) the insurance companies start penalizing people for being over BMI we are all going to have to call congress until the bullies go back in their cages.

    Stepping on the scale.....

    I weigh myself constantly! but after week 2 it doesn't bother me, I am just curious to see the effects of the choices I am making. I only log the weight on Monday so the rest of the times it is just information that comes and goes. If it starts to become a problem then I will have my husband take the scale away from me.

    Please don't give up. those pea size bites add up, and you will get to where it is not a chore. Have you tried canned chicken or else slow cooker chicken breasts? for me they are more tender and easily handled, especially in the early days.

    fiber supplements?

    I eat lima Beans or black beans almost daily. I also eat 1/3 of an apple or a small unsweetened applesauce. I take a dulcolax stool softener, and once have needed miralax.

    the answer is going to vary from plan to plan. At 4 weeks I was allowed.

    Red light tanning bed

    I clicked on the link - but I'd be awful suspicious of it. Love the skin you're in. If you want the stretch marks to fade use coconut oil or butter as a lotion after bath. take salmon oil or other fish oil for good healthy skin. it is, in my opinion a much better option.

    Who is using Equal?

    I use half splenda half sugar in my coffee. and real half and half usually or else fairlife milk with half and half. my NUT wasn't thrilled but we worked out a plan.

  19. it won't always be like that. as the swelling goes down, this will decrease. Hang in there and learn the signs your body will give you right before you've had too much. sometimes they are subtle. I get a drippy nose.

    I take salmon oil and have taken it since week 2. no problems.

    Regret

    I am sorry you're having such a rough go of it. I am 7 weeks out and have not had nausea or vomiting. I sure hope yours resolves. and quickly because then I think you'll be real happy. I did go through a period of *what have I DONE?* feelings - and then a real angry week between 4-5 that I think was hormones. I am learning to count to 1000 so that I don't react in an inappropriate way - because I know I'm not my normal self.
  22. all that water could have messed with electrolytes or something. :-) I like the vitamin water zero, maybe give that a try. It was hard on your body to go through all that. If you're still draggin in a couple of weeks then that will be something to check on.
  23. My goal is higher than my doctor thought I would go. :-) so stay tuned to see how my own brand of crazy reacts. should be interesting!

    What’s Your Spring Goal?

    my daughter graduates high school in May. I'll need a new outfit and it will not be in the plus size department. Super excited. other than that to keep on keeping on. my sleeve is new and I am learning how to manage this new chance at life. We go hiking this weekend and I am looking forward to making it to the bottom of Burgess Falls once again. it's been a couple of years.
