    A Motorcyclist NSV

wonderful NSV! one of the things I'd like when I get to a normal weight is to be able to be a passenger with the husband. comfortably. We need more time away from the teenagers.

    Weight gain already?!?!

I had a hysterectomy last year, but I still have my ovaries, so I still have some bloating that goes on from the hormones. you will loose faster if you can get the calories up a little - what about a Protein shake?

    Weight gain already?!?!

you are not eating enough to gain fat - so please don't panic. it could be Water, or you could need to poo. so many factors. keep following the plan, walk when you can and it will come off. there now you've heard from a friend who says you WILL loose. :-) take that naysayers.

I hope for an update that you are doing better! I have never vomited with my new little stomach. I am a little nervous about that someday.

    I can eat ANYTHING

the only thing I didn't care so much for was steak and venison. will try again later - just made me feel a little off. no real problems with it. I am glad! I can have anything. in small amounts. :-) it's a good thing, really.

    Regrets?

I tend to be a rather open person, and didn't want to have to remember "who knew and who didn't" so I have told anyone that was interested. the most emotional things for me is some friends who had been concerned over my health for a long time. they have become my biggest cheerleaders. but I tend to not mind educating people either - some people are more shy, or more private, or don't handle people's opinion well or just plain don't want to discuss it so they don't. neither way is right or wrong.

    Sleeve or RnY?

I take salmon oil to treat ADD and I did not have reflux, so the sleeve was the natural choice for me.
  12. I think you need to call your surgeon's office and make sure you don't need to be seen, and please let us know how you are doing!
  13. I probably have a different auto immune disorder (they haven't done a biopsy needed to make sure. it's either that or something else scarier) and I will say I have personally had a 70-80% reduction in pain immediately after surgery. it is crazy good. I would hope the same for you. my bad days now are better than my good days were.

    Phase 2 Mushy Food

I was nervous too! one of my favorite things at that stage was touch down taco dip. refried Beans and garlic on the bottom, low fat cream cheese and low fat sour cream mixed with taco seasoning on the top layer. we add cheddar cheese in the beans, between the layers and on top. bake for 20 minutes or so. The fam has it with toppings for a chip dip, I just ate it with a spoon and salsa

Horomonal Eating - PMS and all that jazz

post surgery when I want - no NEED - chocolate I am actually satisfied with a chocolate Protein shake. go figure. sometimes I add Peanut Butter powder to it. my understanding is that down the road some of those cravings can come back - and so we do need to work on our own issues - but it really does change the game in the short term anyway.

    Dry skin?

my favorite thing is to use coconut oil as a body oil. I float it in a warm epsom salts bath and when I get out I towel off and baste myself in the melted warm oil. it is heavenly! I use WEN on my hair, so I also haven't had any scalp dryness, but there are products out there you could try or you could do a hot oil treatment too. dry skin is so annoying. I hope you can find what works for you.
  17. Every bad habit we have is somehow serving us. we have to figure out how in order to end it. so, I did a lot of therapy work about 5 -6 years ago dealing with my over-eating issues. I thought. there - that's me sorted! now I can loose weight and keep it off. not so much. I have never had a re-occurrence of the kind of food issues I had before (eating a whole small chocolate cake in a weekend - hiding it from the kids? can anyone relate?) however I spent the past years loosing and regaining the same 30 pounds. Thankfully the highest at 6 years ago, never got quite that high again. Still. I don't think I would have a chance in hell of loosing significant weight and keeping it off without this tool. when I developed diabetes that was it for me. I am not going to spend the rest of my life battling that disease. You have to have a real honest look at yourself and see what you think.

    This is when I fail

ok. a couple of ideas. 1. You are worth taking care of. tell yourself that in the mirror. believe me until you can believe yourself if needed. Breathe. drink Water. 2. fix yourself some healthy meals on the weekend so that during the week they are prepackaged grab and go. my lunch today is sliced up leftover chicken breast (it reheats better sliced) with half a serving of steamed asparagus. After dinner I made two plates for the fridge. my snack was two pieces of turkey lunch meat sliced thin wrapped around a low fat cheese stick and raw baby spinach. you can premake these and keep them wrapped in plastic in the fridge, again to just grab and go. 3. you can do a simple yoga routine in 15 minutes, or walk back and forth from the front door to the back (or some such) in a 10 minute time span. if you can do this 2 or 3 times a day you will have an actual workout in the books.
  21. thank you for posting! it is so encouraging to hear other's stories and SEE your success! I appreciate it.

    Incentive Spirometer

I only had to do it for the first week or so, but I don't know what your risks are for pneumonia. your doctor probably knows best.

    Low testosterone

well this low T information sounds very promising! with everything else you've been through, the _last_ thing you need is to have your hormones working against you. please let me know what the endocrinologist says. I lost a cousin years ago to suicide. I will never get over it. I can hardly even type about it now - the grief is so very deep. it is a different kind of loss than anything else. you're in my prayers. we'll be around if you need a friend this weekend and if you need alone time we'll be praying.

    need some help

yes to the NUT and therapist if possible. Also, find another outlet for your stress. if the health issues make walking or swimming not possible then what about some yoga? some poses are easier. I like Peggy Cappy's videos, also I crochet which keeps me from shoving food in my mouth. I am a stress cleaner, but a happy eater, so when I began to deal with my food issues I had to find other things too.

What do you take? Soreness without Advil

epsom salts bath, cinnamon, turmeric. :-) Tylenol. I was expecting that ban for me too, but the doctor said I can have ib if needed. I am not sure if some doctors are just more strict, or if it has to do with the procedure/medical history. I still gravitate to the things I listed first.
