I have had magnet extenders for most of my necklaces 1. because my neck was so fat. 2. the magnets are just easier, and before surgery with my diabetes my fingers used to fall asleep a lot when doing things like holding the clasp. Well, today I had to remove the extender part from one of my smaller necklaces in order to get it to hang properly in my neckline! WOW. before, even if someone else had been putting it on me, there is no way the chain was long enough to go around without choking me. I will probably still use the magnet part, because I just rather have gotten used to them and like them. I could tell my neck was getting smaller, but I did not think this much!!! !!!

Protein powder scoop, packed or unpacked?
Christinamo7 replied to kmorri's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
no clue. I just scoop and mix. not usually awake enough at that time to ponder these 'weighty' questions. -

Alcohol is a hobby in my relationship. Worried. Get sleeved this month.
Christinamo7 replied to Nikkipit's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
hopefully you can find other things to replace the alcohol with. I know for me, right now, I have a glass of diet cran grape rather than a glass of wine, and if people are around, they really don't know the difference. let me tell you this is going to be a wild ride! but I also feel like it has saved my life. my hope and prayer is that you will be able to grow together through this. Also know that how it is in the first few months is not how it will be forever, so in the early days when you have more restrictions remind him it will not *always* be like that. and Dub, I'm not going to quote your whole post, but thank you for sharing your story in such a detailed way. You're just the best. -

you're welcome. I don't remember who posted about the percentages when I was newly sleeved and freaking out, but it has proven to be a great comfort to me when I don't feel like the scale is moving fast enough!

First restaurant Post-Sleeve
Christinamo7 replied to SEVENTYSIXGIRL's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
we went out to Longhorn Steakhouse today for my birthday. I had the flat Iron steak and asparagus. Ate one of the french fries, gave the rest to David and have plenty of steak and veg for work tomorrow. :-) I am 2 1/2 months out. Felt good to go out and enjoy the day. it was my first time eating out also. -

you have probably lost close to the same percentage of extra weight as her, as the heavier you are the more actual pounds you loose faster. but the percentage of extra is about the same. I am 2 1/2 months out and have lost almost 30% of my extra weight. that's pretty darn good. but it's only a little more than 30 pounds. I don't care though because it *is* coming off! I am focused on moving my body and eating good foods. learning a healthy relationship with food is the most important thing we can do during this first year.

Overwhelmed with food choices
Christinamo7 replied to KittyCathy22's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
sometimes I pack a cheese stick, some baby spinach and some lunch meat, and roll the two around the cheese stick. or cottage cheese and a few strawberries, or sometime less than 1 ounce of almonds and a few dried cherries. or a Protein bar. I pack my cooler in the morning with two Snacks and lunch, and if I am the late person, with a small snack size dinner as well since I wouldn't be able to leave until clinic is done. Also pack my Vitamin Water zero and my refillable water container. I eat my Breakfast on the way in in the morning so some days I leave with all my food for the day. not my favorite thing, but it is better than skipping meals and trying to figure out "healthy-ish" choices from fast food or vending machines. -
People who want privacy - what is or was your cover story?

Breakfast foods you love and are healthy
Christinamo7 replied to Deleted Profile's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I have eggs either scrambled, "fried" in a no stick pan or boiled. Or sometimes an egg salad Sammy And one piece of oatmeal toast. On days off work I may have something else but that's what works on work days. I've never been very functional without a good breakfast. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
if it's really bothering you then yes, call. do you have glue over the stitches? I did, and couldn't put anything on them until the glue came off on it's own. after that I use coconut oil as a lotion.

People can be so rude.
Christinamo7 replied to Nycatt's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
There has to come a time when we stop beating people up or dismissing obesity as lazy. anyone who has ever known me knows my parents worked the lazy out of me when I was a small child. Lazy is simply NOT allowed for me or anyone in my family. You still have to do the real work if you want this surgery to take the weight off and keep it off. I know that surgery is not the "easy way out" but it is a whole lot easier than beating my head against the wall before surgery trying to loose weight. For those of us who are open with others about the surgery it is important to say that we are loosing weight by eating right (and if you are doing so, working out) just like anyone else. the surgery helps to control the portions and keep carbs from knocking me down. it is interesting to me that I have several acquaintances who had surgery, lost a little and stopped. and when mutual friends found out I was having surgery said - you will have more success than (that person) because you have always been *trying* to live a healthy life and eat good foods. in other words, I was already primed to make the lifestyle changes and simply needed a hand up to get there. I pray for the acquaintances who are still dealing with food addiction issues. Food does not fight fair. Furthermore, as far as wanting to do it the "hard way" Obesity causes health problems that shorten our lives and rob us of life in the meantime. if it is easier, if there is an easy way to beat it, I am going to take it. I want to be around to enjoy grandchildren. this post seems rather disjointed to me, and I apologize. there are just so many different thoughts on this subject all clamoring to be expressed. -
if you can make lemonaid with stevia it would be similar in the end. do you have Stevia?
