    My rant for the day.

you can't imagine how many people stop in for a doctor visit and say they didn't know they would have to pay their copay, SMH.

    New motivation

it is whatever it is. but, I do not let my ex husband have that sort of influence on my behavior.

    1st stall

well I am going to be just flat out honest. at that point I weighed like 4 times a day, lol. but eventually I got bored with that. just keep following the program and the scale will move again. now I weigh once a day, but only count it as official on Monday.

How plus size stores rip us off!

oh, sometimes I find really lovely fabric for blouses and skirts at fabric.com or farmhousefabrics. I can do it for less than good clothes cost, and I am good enough to be making designer equivalent in terms of the quality of the sewing I've been sewing for 40 years (yikes.that's the truth slapping me in the face right there) - but when I was always trying to loose weight and now when I am actually loosing I don't want to invest the *time* in making my clothes. I plan to make a RED wool swing coat this winter. I can hardly wait. Trying to decide what color of satin lining to use. black? hot pink? or should I find something plaid for the lining???

How plus size stores rip us off!

how fabric feels is the most important thing to me! I can't wait to get to a sustainable size so I can invest in making my own clothes again and have things *exactly* how I want them.

    Breastfeeding mommas!?

I nursed all of my babies, but that was a long time before my sleeve - I just want to encourage you to try! and just make sure you are getting enough fluids and calories. don't be afraid of healthy food. I miss that special time with them.
  16. I think you've got a good plan, let us know how it all works out!

How long from start to finishing

look, I think most of us had a few little food parties - but the truth is the better you eat now - the more veg and nutritious food you have, the better your body will be prepared to recover from what is major surgery, so just keep that in the back of your mind!
  18. bah. I am so awkward.

      Christinamo7

well, KF, there is that - but most handsome men do make me slightly nervous.

jane - I have been stuck on the front desk at work because we have had two people quit and I am definitely a "behind the scenes" person - I just feel like I am tripping over my tongue sometimes. all the time.

      Nothing wrong with that...

It always feels worse than it is..

      Unless it doesnt...

In which case you probably look really awkward!!!

      Yes...

      My work here is done...

I am the same way ("behind the scenes" person) and I understand how you feel working a front desk type spot. The thing is the more you sit there, the more comfortable you will feel about answering and being the first person people meet. I think when we are heavy it is another negative projection we feel is "out there" and it makes us even more self conscious when we are put in a highly "visible" spot. Some folks shine in the spotlight no matter what they weigh - some of us, unfortunately feel awkward. Just my opinion of course...

    Male Before and After Pictures

@@OKCPirate - remember when you said that? Allow me to direct your eyes to the quote below: I stand corrected. The women here will treat us like a side of beef (albeit a much smaller side of beef) I hope that is ok !!

How long from start to finishing

mine was over a year, but that is because my testing found a medical problem that needed to be resolved before moving forward.
  21. great! keep us posted on how you're doing. for me that first month was the most difficult time. but it's WORTH IT.

I'm freezing cold ever since surgery!

this is my husband's *favorite* side effect of my surgery, because for 20 years now he has been cold because I was so hot natured.
  23. Christinamo7

    Down and I'm proud!

good for you! Diabetes was my main motivating factor.
  24. Christinamo7

Will I be able to do this

I was afraid I would be the only person the sleeve didn't work for, because no matter what I did before I couldn't loose much weight, but if you follow the plan, it works. hang in there. I think the first 2 weeks po are the hardest part. *head games* it's brutal.

    My 2 biggest fears

I would eat eggs, they are rich in Protein and Biotin. If you'd rather have a food source rather than supplement. you can also do an egg and honey hair mask, there are tons of recipes online. I'm not really worried about it. I'd rather loose some hair and have saggy skin than be fat. I do use coconut oil on my skin after my bath, I float the jar in the warm Water and then baste myself with the hot oil. it feels LOVELY. I've only lost 1/3 of my excess weight but so far only a little bit of sag. We'll see.
