What's your favorite chicken salad recipe?
Christinamo7 replied to CowgirlJane's topic in Regular foods (stage 4)
I like regular chicken salad but I love to kick it up a notch and have coronation chicken salad! sooooo good and the curry is good for you too. -
when we have time, we are tired. when we don't have time we are itching for each other. or the teenagers are in the way. we both have plenty of 'want to', but it is usually my husband who is the one saying, not tonight babe. so I understand, it is *very* hard not to take it personally, and I hope you two can find some middle ground to a frequency you can both be satisfied with. I hope she understands that you have probably got a hormone issue going on, and some compassionate availability would be much appreciated, because I think it is important to value your spouse's needs as highly as your own, whether that need be for comfort, pleasure or rest.

I have a local support group but it is not so good. so, I love the people here! I hope that as you read the posts and make friends you will find what you need for support and get that last 50 off and keep it off!

bless. I *hate* throwing up. yuk. and I hate you're having this struggle. you're not likely doing anything wrong at all. the B1 shot should sort you out, and hopefully later when you try meat or eggs they will do fine, but it takes some stomachs longer to be ready for them. when you do try them make sure they're moist, I have always found ground meat easier to tolerate, and I tend to cook it in my crock pot. eggs I prefer scrambled and moist. it is just so important to do those follow up appointments and have them check your B1 as often as they recommend, and you're already doing that, so I think you're probably doing things exactly right.

The BEST feeling in the world post op!
Christinamo7 replied to miss_smiles's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
when my adult children, who haven't seen me in a couple of weeks come round, give me a hug, then come back to hug me again exclaiming "Mom!" wtf? where did you go? then I have to remind them I can still wash their mouths out, and thank them for the compliment. next weekend I will see my son who has a disability. haven't had him over in a month, and I am looking forward to seeing if he notices. -
Fat free, low far, light or regular?
Christinamo7 replied to FabFemale's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I usually prefer low fat sour cream, cottage cheese, and some cheese blends. everything else? I prefer full fat, good quality dairy. I just make sure that my calorie numbers are in line with my plan, whichever products I use. Thankfully my NUT, who is low fat/no fat everything is willing to agree to disagree on that issue and helps me figure a way to work things into my overall plan and so far, so good. I personally believe sugar is the big trouble maker though. -
Does the neck area ever get better?
Christinamo7 replied to bjc1971's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I think you're looking pretty good for that kind of weight loss! I have tried a strivectin neck cream that I do like, but I am too lazy for a separate product. I either use coconut oil, aragon oil or my night cream down my neck to my decolletage. so far, for my age and weight issues I think I'm holding up pretty good. if you're using a product you like on your face, be sure to give it a try on the neck. it won't make you "like new" but it sure couldn't hurt. -
coffee = bliss. I waited. as @@KindaFamiliar says, it's not worth the irritated stomach. but oh the joy of that first cup of coffee! if you really feel you're ready sooner, talk to your team. a lot of the "rules" they had for everyone they were willing to customize a plan for just me (basically because I do not eat fish) they will know how to evaluate if you do need to wait or not.

Anybody else have a huge dog that loves them so much its painful?
Christinamo7 replied to MIMISAN's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I didn't have any trouble with Sophie jumping up on me, she is mostly fox hound. but she was the greatest motivator to get me walking outside consistently. Two cats, they are another story. one ignores me unless she wants food the other one was all over my lap, but she is not big, it wasn't a problem. -
Go Preds!
-
that is a good idea. I have a weight loss folder for pictures but I was going to wait to post most of them until I have gotten further down the road. looking back at the weekly photos is very motivating for me though. especially if the scale isn't moving much.
-
yeah I agree! the scale will just deprive you of your accomplishments! just go on how you feel and keep productive! you will achieve your goals! I love to see the success of everyone! its truly a great thing to be able to take your life back isn't it??

I was allowed to have unsweetened applesauce, and I could tolerate unflavored protein powder mixed in that, but at one week your liquids are the very most important thing.

I am proud of you for stopping - for reaching out and for reminding yourself what you want. Those are all good signs! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Finally seeing a difference! 3 months post-op
Christinamo7 replied to JennsJourney's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
you look great! at 3 months next week, I can see the difference too, which is very motivating. -
just last week I posted because I had to remove an extender from a necklace! it was a huge moment for me. I also have a necklace my girls gave me that is on a ribbon, and has beads, like pandora beads? I have *never* been able to wear it. I need to try it on now. Husband has given me a lot of rings, and some I couldn't wear as my weight went on - and now I am wearing them. every time someone compliments me on them I feel so much pleasure that I am able to not just admire them in the jewelry box. this is my original wedding set: this he gave me at 10 years, but I haven't been able to wear much: this shows the necklace, with NO EXTENDER: I wanted to be able to wear shoes that were not "wide width" - yes, converse - but also pretty little sandals and platform shoes....... I want to be able to wear a demi bra again as I have always loved that style, but the girls have been too large and unruly for some time to behave in that kind of bra, even if I had made one to size. and, I was a cheerleader back in the day, and I really want to fit back into that cheerleading uniform, even if the husband is the only one who ever sees me in it. - it'd be real nice to do a cartwheel and handstand and not feel like I might die. and, I am looking forward to getting back to making my own clothes, just how I like them, and in the materials I like. and my Church ladies group hikes Mt. Leconte every year. I have never felt like I could make the climb, even though I love to hike, and my best friend and I are planning to participate next year. I feel like I can do these things now, and I am very much looking forward to it. and because I was a diabetic, and afraid of fruit, it has been a special delight to me to have small amounts of fruit - check my blood sugar and it is all normal.

THIS. is what my mother has always said when ever we have a pity party. -
you've already gotten such good counsel here - but I just wanted to add that I hope you can get this overturned and not have to do yet another 3 month supervised diet. I have fed BCBS standard.

How soon where you told you can have soft solids?
Christinamo7 replied to LaliGator's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was on soft foods just about 10 days I think? at my one week check they said 10 days to two weeks (14 days), but my swelling went down quickly and I wanted something - scrambled egg was my first nibble. one bit was all I could handle but it was lovely. also had refried Beans that weekend. -
maybe, for now, find dates that do not involve eating? anything else you two have in common?

What Is the Craziest Thing You’ve Ordered at a Restaurant?

I make what I call a Big Mac salad at home - so I can portion the ingredients to my tastes. -
Hospital Bag (what to pack) ?
Christinamo7 replied to BBweightlossjourney's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wore home what I wore to the hospital - all I ended up needing was my toothbrush and toothpaste and my phone charger. We did have my laptop while husband was with me, and I sort of watched movies on it. I walked back and forth in my room so didn't need anything else and I really just wanted to sip Water and rest. and chapstick. I like carmex. I did use that also. please let us know how things go Tuesday! Welcome to the club~ -
