the frames to my current glasses are no longer in stock, so I can not just get new lenses. I have to get the whole package.
-
it took me a while to get used to bifocals, but now I can't get used to the readers when I wear them instead.

frames are no longer in stock - I did check that but if I end up getting new ones I will choose a newer frame in case I need new lenses later. but dang, even those are pricey once you get old enough for progressive bifocals. I suppose I could get regular bifocals, it is probably just vanity wanting progressives.

My 600 Pound Life: 2016 Season
Christinamo7 replied to Inner Surfer Girl's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Ann !!! David and I met online and got married the week we met in person. but we are both admittedly weird. 20 years on our next anniversary, so no matter what comes in the future, I'd say that was a success. -
I am six weeks out...stalled for 10 days...and starting to regret my decision. Anyone else?

well tell your family to 'suck it up buttercup'. it is GOOD for you to cook healthier for them and their tastes will adapt. when I was a kid, my parents had this attitude towards what they fixed for dinner. take it, or leave it. don't let them make you feel the slightest bit of guilt for choosing LIFE. a second factor is that you are probably going through the hormone dump we all go through, so I can encourage you that your emotions will not always be so heady. I am 11 weeks post op and while it is true that for most of humanity, through most ages, food has always been a center of social activity, but if you continue to learn and explore you will find healthy ways, within your program to participate and be all the better for it. What's done is done, and you may need to mourn the loss of the 'old you' so you can move forward into your new life. -
What do you eat? Am I eating too much?
Christinamo7 replied to Mrs. Lincoln's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
it looks to me like you are focusing on Protein - and getting in some veg - if you're loosing weight it seems like you're doing good, except I think that ice cream might get ya. if it is all the time. I am allowed some fruit. watch and make sure that you continue to loose weight until you get where you want to be. -
the progress you have made is inspiring. I always look forward to seeing your posts.

I like chicken breasts. sometimes I cook them in the crock pot with garlic, salt and pepper. then during the week we can have bbq chicken, or I can make taquitos (low carb wrap) or just have it with veg. Tonight I sauted chicken breasts in olive oil with garlic salt and pepper, then I made a pan sauce with cider, a tsp of honey and a tsp of butter. it was ahmazing. served with asparagus. but one of my favorites is to saute the chick, simmer it in my fav spag sauce and then top with parm cheese. if you slice the chick breasts then it reheats very well for lunches. sometimes I take the pulled chick, add taco seasoning and black Beans and top it with cheddar cheese. mmmm mm mmmm

Breast size after surgery
Christinamo7 replied to hazelzay's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@VSGAnn2014 bahahaha! to the OP it is going to vary from woman to woman. I am 1/3 of the way with my weight loss and they went from "I'm afraid to measure" and "they're strangling me in my sleep" to very nice and shapely. but I've got a lot of weight to loose, and the one thing I have told my husband is if I sit on or step on my nipples they are getting fixed. even if I have to refinance the house to do it. Good news is they are fixable if I am not happy when I get there. -
feeling comfortable to walk in 80+ weather - and even wearing shorts to do so! this morning I had to go to work early so didn't want to miss my work out. before my sleeve I would not have been able to handle exercise when it is so warm outside. it felt GREAT!

Something frivolous: best hospital dressing code?
Christinamo7 replied to ZillyNa's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I never even bothered to change out of the hospital gown, but once I got home I preferred comfy pj's over a nightgown. -

5 Minute Stress Relief
Christinamo7 replied to Inner Surfer Girl's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
if I am drinking whiskey on ice, my family apologizes whether they did anything wrong or not. it I am drinking it straight up they just back out of the room as quietly as possible. this has only happened on 3-4 occasions, but it's usually bad news for someone if I am drinking whiskey and not in my coffee. -
the first time that happened for me I made the husband get up out the the living room and come in to the bathroom to see. he did not really 'get' why it pleased me so much, but he was more than happy to help Celebrate, haha.

Christinamo7 replied to Beck90's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I don't know if I am open minded or not, but I do have a husband and daughter with Asperger's so I am used to social anxiety, I am certainly willing to be a friend to you as you go through this process. -
Those who drink diet pop post-op {Only nice comments PLEASE}
Christinamo7 replied to Beck90's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
when you say only nice comments please, do you mean someone might be allowed to disagree nicely, or you only want people who agree with you to comment? *moving right along* edited because on second reading I see at the end you answered my question. -
What snacks or food to eat on the go
Christinamo7 replied to Bizziebe27's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I keep mine in the back or the fridge or the freezer. I measure out my servings into small plastic containers, and have them with a few dried cherries. a good snack. -
