I need support...
Christinamo7 replied to DeannW1114's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think in the first 3 months you will probably not be doing a lot of this. but, I don't miss what I'm not wanting right now. I love to cook and make new recipes, play with food basically. That is coming back. I have no desire to bake yet, but I think that will come back later. once I got back on regular foods at a month I have found most restaurants have choices that are good for me - but I will probably have 3-4 meals out of it. So, don't worry I think other than nesting in until you are on regular foods you will be fine. And, I think you and your husband can adapt and find things to enjoy. When I had a hysterectomy last fall I had to rest a LOT during recovery so my husband had us watching all the star trek tv shows. Whatever else you like you can find things to share. We will be here and I can't wait to see your progress! -
Withdrawals [emoji15]
Christinamo7 replied to lupita19's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
if it is just the normal hormonal depression I went through this for a few weeks. the thing that helped me a lot was to go for a long walk. after a few weeks it lifted. yesterday I was in an irrationally good mood. first time in a while. -
boo. it looks like they want me to schedule my first colonoscopy.
-
I just had one done literally 2 weeks before my surgery. They actually couldn't finish because it was too painful. I need deep sedation; not just twilight sleep. They said I didn't have to repeat for 5 years, but I question that. Colonoscopies are not that bad; it is the prep that really sucks.
-
Prep was the worst part for me. If they give you an option for sedation, choose the propofol. Good luck!!

Time off work - Short term disability
Christinamo7 replied to NPR's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I did not with my WLS, but I did with my hysterectomy last fall. for my company it was pretty easy and the paperwork was something that they could fill out and fax, so it would not have really mattered where my surgery was. -
Is occasional Nsaids okay post-op?
Christinamo7 replied to Hugs :)'s topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
if you go into your settings where you originally entered your weight and update your current weight it will show the progress on the tracker. -
Is occasional Nsaids okay post-op?
Christinamo7 replied to Hugs :)'s topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was specifically told by my surgeon that they are fine for me. I was surprised as I had always understood they would be a never after surgery. -
NSV. this afternoon there were two techs in the back hallway when I was walking through. one had her leg up writing on paper with her thigh as the surface to write on. the other gestured for me to go on through and I said, I can't fit through there! they both said, yes you can! I said to the one girl, put your leg down and she said - no, I promise you will fit just fine. well. I'm astounded. I walked right through there like it was the grand canyon. do you all have any trouble with judging how much room you need?

When did you start protein bars?
Christinamo7 replied to camry2016's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
thank you! -
Does anyone's goal weight still leave them "overweight" or "obese"?
Christinamo7 replied to provenzee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
YES. I would have to get to 129 to have a healthy BMI, and my goal is 160. I will re-evaluate when I get to 160. I can't even wrap my mind around being *that* small. -
vivascal or other vitamins for hair growth?
Christinamo7 replied to crazyplantlady's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
do you eat eggs? they are full of all the good stuff you need to grow pretty hair. -
hopefully it will not have any issues this time. if it does maybe they will give you a copy and you can make sure they have everything yourself. keep us posted!
-
I just did not loose weight on my supervised diet. which was ok too. I had Federal BCBS. do you have comorbidities?

Christinamo7 replied to camry2016's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
maybe 10 weeks out or so? because I walk A LOT and sometimes need a little boost to calories/protein. I have only found one I like, and it is a treat for when I am extra active, not a daily thing. or when my hormones make me a stark raving lunatic, because the one I like is also chocolate. -
Exercising one month post op
Christinamo7 replied to jccanada's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
you could do yoga while he Snacks. would that be better? or does he need you to not do anything else but sit there? -
I just want to say congrats on your sleeve and I look forward to seeing how things go for you! what I love about my sleeve is that hunger doesn't feel the same anymore. I feel an empty feeling and like I should eat something but it is no longer the big demanding monster that it used to be. and much more easily satisfied. I don't eat to get full - I eat just to feel not hungry anymore. it is liberating!

I know. I am pretty sure my husband has the same dilemma. potato chips/wife. potato chips/wife. sometimes he makes the right choice and sometimes he's in the dog house! -
congrats! I am so excited for you, and I look forward to seeing your progress.

I'm not doing it on purpose. I just eat what I eat that's what it averages too. Heres what scares me though. Someone told me the same exact thing about a month ago so I was like cool, I'll increase my calories. So for two weeks I did. I weighed after those 2 weeks and gained 6 pounds. After going back to what I have always originally have done I lost those 6 pounds within a matter of days but I'm literally back at square one with weighing 230. It will NOT go in the 220s to save my life. Sent from my SM-S820L using the BariatricPal App this tells me it was Water weight and not FAT. and remember the goal isn't to just loose weight, but to loose excess fat. I agree with @@JamieLogical 2 weeks was probably not long enough for your body to trust you to keep eating.

Exercising one month post op
Christinamo7 replied to jccanada's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
good for you moving! I walk in the morning, really gets my day going. but you know, giving your husband some undivided attention can qualify as good exercise too. -
some people want to see you succeed. they are your cheerleaders. some people, for reasons completely unrelated to YOU, want to see you fail. they may or may not realize it. you have to learn to let their opinions roll off you because 1. it is not helpful and 2. it isn't you, it's them. in fact you may even come to feel a little sorry for it. These may be people you are unable to cut out of your life, but try to remember they are doing you a favor by showing you who they really are. then you are aware and can avoid thinking of them as a real friend or cheerleader. thinking of a former coworker who kinda wants to see me fail to justify her choice to not change her life. it's ok, it's not about me. it sure can hurt sometimes though. I am someone who gives my heart away TOO easily. I fall in love (in a friendship way) all the time, and when people don't love me back Jesus just has to put my heart back together (again and again and again) but I'd rather be that way than pessimistic or cold hearted.

PRAISE.....The Lorttttt!
Christinamo7 replied to Andrea72's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
45 pounds is a reason to happy dance! WHOOP WHOOP! I think the more we see stalls come (and GO) the easier it gets to trust the process, follow the program and be gentle with our bodies. -
3.5 weeks no prob eating WORRIED
Christinamo7 replied to coco777's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
you're doing very well! and I agree - no shame. you tell whoever you want to tell and don't tell anyone you don't care to. for work I pack up all my little measured Snacks, and my lunches on the weekend so during the week I can just grab and go. -
oh yikes! I have not, but you'll sure be in my thoughts and prayers tonight. I hope you recover very quickly!
-
I was only allowed to walk the first month - and in the beginning I was walking s l o w l y - and by the end of the month I was at my pre-surgery speed and much more stamina and distance. I was walking so much at 1 month the dog ran away from me a few times in the morning rather than go for a walk, ha. at one month I was cleared to do what I wanted, and build up slowly, so I added back in my favorite yoga routines, and I was doing 1 time a week pilates, but have now upped that to 3 times a week. I swim whenever I get the chance. *swimming* is my favorite thing. I have been back to hiking a few times. hope to maybe go hiking this coming weekend.

Supervised weight loss
Christinamo7 replied to bellabeans's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
for my insurance I either had to meet with my PCP or the weight loss clinic for 3 months, and like you not gain but not loose too much. they filled out a sheet each month and at the end wrote a letter recommending me for surgery. that was my supervised diet.
