most of us report having hungry days and not hungry days. for me usually if I am having a hungry time pretty soon after the scale moves, so I've kinda learned to look forward to that.

Issues with Co workers after my surgery
Christinamo7 replied to hijynx's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I sure have. we are short staffed and I got a lot of the lousy jobs/shifts assigned to me and generally treated poorly due to some people (my supervisor included) not being pleased that I went out on FMLA for my surgery. after all this time it has settled down and sorted out - and I have a perfectly effective working relationship there - but I won't forget. see, I view this surgery as being needed and perhaps even saving my life. they viewed it as an elective choice and I should have waited 6 months or so until other positions were filled and trained. -

Favorite "fast foods" redux
Christinamo7 replied to LisaMergs's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
I like the half sized apple pecan chicken salad at Wendy's. I normally pour the dressing into a little container and dip my fork in before I pick up a bite. it's good on those occasions where I haven't got a lunch to bring with me. 20g Protein they say. -
300+ pounds with a lot of weight in my legs...
Christinamo7 replied to amandaelder4's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
thanks, @@LisaMergs this was a big goal met. next is 180, that was the weight I was when I married my husband. guessing 3 months or so from now will maybe reach that goal? not really putting a time frame on it, just guessing. I know it slows down as you go along. -
300+ pounds with a lot of weight in my legs...
Christinamo7 replied to amandaelder4's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
my weight was more in my belly - apple shape when heavy, hourglass at normal weight. but I will say almost everyone thinks they will be the exception and it won't work. we hardly dare to hope! but when you follow the program after surgery it does work. it's a wild ride. Do you see my ticker that my weight is now 199? I haven't seen that number in 16 years. crazy. once you get through the first month - because recovering from surgery is always rough - it is a beautiful thing! -
that doesn't seem right, does it?

What Are Your Summer Plans?
Christinamo7 replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
as usual July will find me back home wandering around on the farm - swimming hopefully in Lake Michigan and anywhere else I can manage, picking cherries on Old Mission Peninsula and hopefully climbing the sand dunes. perhaps a ride down the river in a tube or canoe. Everything should be a lot easier now than last year especially. -
windex? I don't currently have acne but in my 30s I went through a bout of it and the only thing that helped me was this product http://www.amazon.com/bareMinerals-Transformation-Clear-Night-Treatment/dp/B004OY9B4E except I didn't use the clear I used the light. I didn't buy from amazon, that is just a handy link to show you the product. have you been loosing weight on this diet? weight loss can throw your hormones out of whack.

What Is Your Brilliant Substitute for a Craving?
Christinamo7 replied to Alex Brecher's topic in Food and Nutrition
adapted from a recipe I found online to suit my own post WLS needs. -
@@CanadaLoser I just wear a smaller band style ring on top of my wedding set to keep it on.

it makes the food move through more quickly and you will eat too much. however, there are supplements I take that need to be taken with food and a sip now and then is ok. sometimes I need a few sips if I am eating something spicy. I am very mindful to just only take what I need and then go back to eating. I want to feel full longer! I try to drink right up until I am ready to eat and then wait a half hour after eating.

feeling guilty about not sharing entire truth about weight loss
Christinamo7 replied to ForLfKlovr's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am a pretty open book. my WLS is not a secret. that being so, I have told anyone who I thought it would help them to know, or would help me for them to know. sometimes when people say you're loosing weight quickly I just say thank you. it is on purpose. (because I had a cancer scare last year and people worry) if they do not know that about me I just say thank you and move on. if they are truly interested in knowing how or what - then if it seems appropriate I tell them more. you don't have to tell everyone everything. That being said a lot of us (me included) feel like posers shopping for clothes in the regular sizes. I think some of that may be just a part of the process of adjusting to the new us. -
congrats! we are neighbors, I found onederland yesterday. great progress!

oh yes, I misunderstood! thank you for that kindness that you would care so. life evens things out in the end.... I am happy and very well loved. and apologies to @@OKCPirate for talking so much about *me* on this topic about his news.

What does "full" feel like
Christinamo7 replied to mlgok's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
for now you should just measure your food and eat the amount recommended. It takes time for nerves and sensation to return where your stomach is. I found I had an increased sensation of full and appetite at 3 months. do you get burpy or does your nose drip? those are common signs that you've had a little bit more than needed. -
you're going to get through this! the first couple of weeks after surgery are the hardest I think. I am 3 1/3 months out and now I have a burger (without bun) if I want one. ok. so I can only eat half of it - but that's all I want anyway. You will have other things you want and there are good choices as alternatives. your profile says lap-band - but you had the sleeve? might need to change that in your settings if you can because it's a little confusing.

The Doctor Struggle
Christinamo7 replied to MayfairDuLioncourt's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
you are doing exactly what you need to be doing. you will find a PCP who is willing to work with you. one step at a time. we've all had long and winding roads to surgery, and set backs. hang in there. -
to me real recovery and success is when I no longer thought about him at all unless something reminded me and I'd have to stretch to even remember what it felt like to be together. He could have had *me* and all my fabulousness for the rest of his life and instead he isn't even worth me reminiscing about. indifference - feels good. because of his poor choices and no one else he had to watch from outside while another man raised his kids. and because that man was a good man, now they are who they go to as adults when they have problems. not their dad. he honestly, didn't think anyone else would ever want me or the kids, I was so much garbage to him. and, if you need a safe place to vent your spleen, feel free to message me - It's probably nothing I didn't say at the time this happened in my life either.

yes. it is much easier and more comfortable to do the things I want to do now. there is more energy and stamina, which is also nice. and, while my husband has always adored me, it is much easier to catch his attention now without even trying than before. the other day he came in the bathroom when I was in the shower, not to join me, but just to look at me. how can that not help things along? everything, including this aspect of my life is improved post surgery. and I'm just getting started!

Oh no he didn't just go there! [emoji23]
Christinamo7 replied to Laura Lopez's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
surgery does make the diet and exercise so very much easier, I dare say it makes it POSSIBLE. Please continue to reach for good health even as you progress toward approval for surgery. -
High cholesterol?
Christinamo7 replied to hopefulmom76's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
yes. yes yes yes. I do believe inflammation is at the root of an awful lot of what ails us. as I always say, listen to what @@OKCPirate says. -
Are Protein Bars even worth it?
Christinamo7 replied to OutsideMatchInside's topic in Food and Nutrition
oh yes, I never have them at home - but then I love to cook and enjoy fixing my own food. I keep the triple chocolate power crunch bars on hand for when I need something to go, or for a back up plan in my bag, or when I *need* a chocolate fix. I have one for this afternoon because I am closing the front desk at work and do not know how late I will have to stay at work. hopefully I will get to leave early enough to have a proper dinner, but if not I'm all set with something discreet I can nibble on at the desk. what's your favorite boars head treat?
