Things we dont have to worry about anymore!
Christinamo7 replied to krista132's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@ isn't it crazy how these things change? I am a petite woman, so I have to pull my seat almost all the way forward. and I used to look 8 months pregnant, so the belly rubbed for sure. 4 months post op? there is all kinds of crazy room between me and the steering wheel. makes me pretty happy! -
Options...don't know what to do...
Christinamo7 replied to tavilez12's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
when I was in my preop stage I was ready to have my surgery right now. lets get going. once I made my mind to do it I wanted it done. and then during all those hoops they found a medical issue, and I needed to deal with that first. It delayed my surgery about a year, but during that time I educated myself and found when surgery finally was ready to happen, I was better prepared. I don't know what will be your best option, but I know those hoops are there for a reason, and while it can drive you mad to go through the process it can also be a very good thing in the long run. and yes, regarding the money, you are worth it if that ends up being *your* best option! in any case, keep us updated on your process. -
ha! I am glad to hear my marriage is not the only one with these issues! my husband doesn't have a recliner, but he does have a LOT of stuff that doesn't go. stuff that I hate. and he has made it clear he is keeping his stuff (Sigh. as I guess he should.......) and so he has this area where he can do anything he wants decor wise. and I have an area where I can do whatever I want decor wise, (funny thing is they are both in the den, on opposing ends) and the rest of the house we compromise on. well. it keeps us from arguing about it most of the time! it is important for us to make sure our home is a haven from this crazy world for everyone in our household as best we can.

@@DRene YES. my weight can vary by 5-6 pounds depending on constipation or hormones. it is Water. I have to remind myself that the goal here is loosing FAT, and to disregard the water weight but it can be annoying. sometimes if it is really bothering me I enter my workouts into mapmywalk and my food and see that I am clearly not gaining fat and then I feel better.

oh good- I am glad you're at the doctor's office. I am just now seeing this, but please let us know what they tell you.

I have to do my annual review at work today. what can I say? I come in every day and do whatever you need me to do the best I can. I hate my job. that is all. ugh.

Did you remember to wear red? One should always wear red when in such situations. It is the color of confidence and power--if only innerpower
-
this was an online thing we have to self evaluate. sometime in the next month we will sit with our manager to review it. "we have lovely uniforms we have to wear" besides I have a towering self esteem as it is, lol. the whole exercise is pointless as there haven't been merit raises in several years.

So close but in slow motion
Christinamo7 replied to shellsndreams's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
it's a hard time when you are ready to make the change and it is still a week away! hang in there. what I did was prepare meals ahead for my family to warm up, so I wouldn't need to cook in the first couple of weeks and made sure I had a couple of Protein powders on hand and some Soup that was allowed. but I didn't stock up on things. knowing what I know now I would have bought some Vitamin Water zero, but I didn't know about it then. I had one container of ocean spray diet cran grape, which I enjoyed over ice. I am looking forward to seeing your progress! -
@@DaisyAmy that is GREAT!. ha. I have to go bra shopping too, but maybe next weekend. gonna hit up TJ Maxx for some cheap good bras since I am in the middle of loosing.

Christinamo7 replied to Janiegirl1's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
no - it was not. I did have a nerve block in my abdomen and not all hospitals do this. it is a very long lasting pain relief and cut down on the narcs I needed. which is nice. but my c section and my hysterectomy were a lot more painful as far as abdominal surgeries, and this was not bad at all. the hardest part for me was the liquid diet. are you also having anything like a hernia repair? I just straight up had the VSG, no hernia. -

your emotions are completely normal! I would go to the gallery and look at before and after pictures of people at least a year out. because you are going to be amazed at the changes in your life! the first few weeks can be a real rollercoaster. just know that that is also normal, and that it will pass. please let us know how your surgery goes! -
I think those types of pains are pretty normal at that point but if it still hurts or you are concerned please call your team. they will ask you more detailed questions and let you know if they think you need to be seen

Warning: Irrational Thoughts......
Christinamo7 replied to lmwilla's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
it's normal, but I'll tell you what - skin can surprise you and healthy is sexy. When the time is right, you'll meet the right person, and they will not care about your imperfections - they will see the things about you that are attractive. this WLS is a wild ride! -
What phrase makes you crazy?
Christinamo7 replied to csawesome's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I have very heated discussions with mine, and I agree - but I do think people should consult their program and if they choose to not go with everything it says, to do so mindfully. -
Yup, that's it right there!

Motivation to eat
Christinamo7 replied to Tssiemer1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
how are you doing with liquids? I find if I get slightly dehydrated I have more of an aversion to food. I just eat what I am supposed to anyway. -
Foodsaver Vacuum Sealer?
Christinamo7 replied to gina171's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I had and used one for years and years when my kids were little and living at home. they can be very handy if you want to freeze things for more than a couple of months, or marinating meat. if you think you'll get use out of it, I highly recommend. passed mine on to a grown up child of mine when I remodeled the kitchen. -
I did not have to do a pre op diet, other than the night before, but I can imagine it is hard. if it helps you to chew and spit, so be it. better that than you cave and eat something. Take heart - the liquid diet part is the hardest thing. I had a liquid diet after surgery. I had cooked a lot of things before surgery and that way I only had to reheat meals for the family. or have one of them reheat. once I was able to eat soft foods it did not bother me to cook for them. the only people who tried to talk me out of it were people who were genuinely concerned something could happen to me. I was more afraid of the obesity than the surgery, so I kindly thanked them for their concern and went ahead with my plans.

What Is the Most Surprising Benefit of Weight Loss Surgery?
Christinamo7 replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
the most surprising is that it is helping me to remember who I am, underneath and before all the things in my life that lead me down an unhealthy path. and looking forward to getting out and doing things. feeling well enough to participate in life....... -
What Are You Most Proud of?
Christinamo7 replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I am proud of being brave enough to try something different. something not reversible. something even drastic to take a hold of my life and improve my health. I want to see my grandchildren grow up. -
