that, and people have to realize that the people they may be irritated with may either already be vets, or will become vets if they hang around and those posts will still be there. so that may be a recipe for more infighting among those who want to go there. which can not be a good or positive thing. I am assuming the forum rules would still apply.

Dealing with spouse who also has weight issue but not having surgery

if she needs a friend she can talk to openly I would be more than willing to email with her. -
Medications and gastric sleeve
Christinamo7 replied to WitchySar's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
this was one of the reasons I chose the sleeve. I take salmon oil for ADD. and I needed to be able to continue taking that capsule, and a few other supplements, I also take benadryl sometimes, and I keep it on hand as I have a serious allergy to certain bee stings. -
The final fifty!

Stop the negativity! Post something that makes you giggle.

google texts from mom. they get me EVERY_TIME. I may or may not be this kind of mom.......... -
you're right that it's only a tool, but my goodness what a powerful tool it is! most people who have the surgery - once they are past the first rough weeks are absolutely glad they did it and only wish they had done so sooner.

most people who loose weight gain it back. I guess it all depends on if you think you can follow this diet for the rest of your life without surgery or else how many times are you willing to yo yo back and forth. for me, I was more afraid of the obesity than the surgery - but only you can make that decision for yourself.

Adult beverages after the sleeve?
Christinamo7 replied to fancypants67's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
my plan says to avoid alcohol. However, I love a good glass of wine or whiskey. but you know they are straight up carbs? so no way am I doing so in early days when I want to keep loosing weight. After that I will cautiously try a glass at home with my husband and see how my stomach handles it. I don't like alcohol enough to keep imbibing if it isn't setting right with me anymore. and he and my best friend have permission to tell me straight up if I am not handling it as well as I think I am. I don't need any kind of transfer addictions. no thank you. -
when you fix your Protein drinks what do you use? you may need something like fairlife milk which doesn't have lactose. perhaps that is an issue for you? not sure.

Any FEBRUARY sleevers?!
Christinamo7 replied to Salinagetssleeved's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
@@perforce I also experienced this, but I added in a protein bar. I try to keep my calorie deficit between 500-800 calories a day, roughly and it keeps my weight loss trucking along. four months this week, and at almost 40% of excess weight off of me. feels real good! -
Is my mind warped with dysmorphia before surgery, or is this real?
Christinamo7 replied to Heather I's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I do not think most stores use normal, or average in their models. so, I don't think you can go by that. it would be more helpful to look for pictures of women who will be about the same height and near your goal weight, although even that can be deceptive because we do not all carry our weight the same way. so, I would focus on what style of clothes you want to wear when your body is wherever it is going to settle weight wise. I love pinterest for this! I have a whole what to wear board. some of it is overthetop but there are things in there that I actually aspire to have in my closet once I get close to my goal. -
What antibacterial soap did you/will you use the night before?
Christinamo7 replied to reachbree's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was bad regarding this - I just followed my normal routine except I did not put coconut oil on my belly. I hope you find something you like! -
The things no one tells you about post op life...
Christinamo7 replied to lexiemustang's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
one thing I have invested in is some small ramekins - about the size around of a coffee cup and then if I am having something warm I put it on a cup warmer so that it warms up the ramekin and keeps my food the right temperature. has saved a few dishes for me. -
Stalls and Weight Gain shortly after surgery
Christinamo7 replied to melsleevedlife's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
one fact is, you are not likely eating enough to gain FAT. so there are other things going on here, as our bodies are complex. it is frustrating to change your whole way of eating and not wake up skinny. I am right there with ya on that - but the program works, and so you just keep following it - and you will make progress. -
yes, the liquid diet phase is the hardest for most of us. will absolutely say a prayer for you!

I was allowed it at one month, but in the beginning it gave me somewhat of a sour stomach, and I really don't want to spend my life on a ppi if I can help it so I treated it like a dessert, only occasionally. now at 4 months it doesn't bother me at all, so I have it most every work day. I use half and half and stevia or sugar.

Dealing with spouse who also has weight issue but not having surgery
Christinamo7 replied to bdejong's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
communication is really important - especially as you two adjust to the changes in your life. my husband is not overweight. but there have been issues where he will put his bag of potato chips right between me and him. REALLY? I can not eat them, but that doesn't mean I don't want to. (he has gotten better about this) I don't expect him to change his eating because I have changed mine, but it is not too much to ask him to put the bag on the other side of him. she needs to know you don't expect her to change her eating if she is not ready to do so. but she also needs to know that if seeing you eat less makes her think about her own portions that you will support whatever measures she is ready to take to make changes in her own life. -
Cholesterol readings concerned
Christinamo7 replied to gomezk2's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
these readings can be crazy for a while during rapid weight loss. Risk is going to vary based on each person's medical and family history - I'd keep an eye on it, but I personally wouldn't worry about those numbers. I worry more about inflammation than cholesterol, myself. have you spoke with the doctor yet, if so what do they want to do? -
symptoms, do you mean diabetes?

This may fit the bill but I am in need of a recommendation for a book based on a fairy tale for my 2016 reading challenge. Does anyone have any ideas off the top of your head? The Goose Girl, maybe?

congrats to both of you for making it to surgery! please let us know how you are doing afterwards................

if you are blacking out, then I guess I would rethink drinking in Italy. Blacking out in public is a very dangerous situation for you! if it were me, at this point the carbonation might be a better choice than the alcohol. if you feel you can not stop drinking please get help. some people drink without issue after surgery, but many people have problems. very common. one thing is a diluted juice (apple) can look like alcohol in a glass over ice, or a nice diet cran grape juice can look like wine and you can feel you fit in with the crowd but not feel like you are putting yourself at risk. I am 4 months out from surgery. I love wine and whiskey both - but have no plans to drink at all until maintenance and then I will be trying things out at home, with the husband where I know I am safe.

Ball is Rolling....
Christinamo7 replied to finding_onederland's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
oh then - you must feel his health is good and weight is good and all that? why does he speak occasionally of wanting it?
