6 months-meds change needed-so tired
Christinamo7 replied to GibbsGirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
my doctor has been slowly cutting out my blood pressure meds. I remember how high it was before I started treatment and it is a scary thing to adjust that medication. I am glad you're keeping such a close eye on it, and I know that you will make good choices based on how you respond to the changes. -
have you had your 6 month check up? when I go in the scale tells me how much fat I still have on my body, and perhaps that information would be helpful for you to know - do you actually have that much excess fat left or is it skin and dense bones. if you have that much excess fat then it is just probably going to take a longer time as you get closer but just keep doing what you're doing if it is still coming off.

Does digesting food cause you pain?
Christinamo7 replied to ssflbelle's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just stop eating when I do not have an empty feeling now. On occasion if I eat more than I should I get burpy and that post thanksgiving dinner feeling. but not pain. I'd guess I eat 3-4 ounces of Protein and some veg and fruit limited carbs. -

Christinamo7 replied to ssflbelle's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
what did the doctor say could be causing the pain? I do not have this pain -so I am at a loss to advise you, but I sure do feel for you. I am sure it makes every day a challenge for you. -

I used to not want to have my picture posted - but then I realized everyone who knows me and loves me already knows what I look like. what I looked like. of course now I love to see how much my life has changed. Be proud of how far you have come! I am trying to be proud of who I was and who I am becoming because that woman is a survivor! -
I think I'd call them back. it's tough that you may need medical care on the holiday weekend, but your health is important

Guys, I don't like bacon anymore!
Christinamo7 replied to Talaria's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
it took me a while to enjoy bacon again, I think the texture was a problem early on. I like it now, but can only handle maybe 1 1/2 glorious slices. -

how large would the one incision be? I had 6 but honestly 4 of them were only about 1/4 of an inch, one was maybe an inch and the other one only slightly larger where they pulled out the stomach.

I happened to be holding my phone up looking for something (flashlight) and somehow hit the camera button. what I saw boggles the mind - I had to take and share a picture with you ladies. sometimes this process seems painfully slow. other times something happens and it is hard for your mind to catch up. so 4 months ago I looked like I was about 8 months pregnant. serious belly weight. wish I had a good picture to compare, but you can understand why I do not! yikes. this weird picture shows today. 120 days later. Still a good long ways to go, but it blows my mind how much things have changed.

I hope so too! I was only on Metformin. I needed insulin twice in the hospital (that is totally normal with this surgery) but I went home on no diabetes medication and then at 3 months my A1c was normal and I am not considered a diabetic anymore. it was the main reason I had surgery and I am so thrilled. wishing you all the best, and please let us know how you do with this post op.

I need full liquid suggestions please!
Christinamo7 replied to sleeverv's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Did you blend it in the blender? Sounds delicious!!! yup. I have a vitamix but I think any old blender would whiz up soup. -
I need full liquid suggestions please!
Christinamo7 replied to sleeverv's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
applesauce with no flavor or vanilla Protein powder was something I enjoyed. I also liked to whiz up the Progresso chicken pot pie Soup. didn't like it pre surgery, and not now, but it sure hit the spot during full liquids. funny how tastes can change. -
you can always call Aetna and bother them a lot until you find out!

@@Kaze they took me off Metformin 3 days before my surgery and to my giddy delight I did not have to go back on it! I hope the same things happens for you. I had such trouble with that medication.
