  1. I believe you also need to find another way to soothe yourself. I am a stress cleaner, and also I like epsom salts baths, and gentle yoga. when I eat things at inappropriate times just because I like the way food tastes I either spritz my mouth with a mouth spray or brush my teeth. really makes food not taste good for a while.

    Exercising

I would think 600-800 calories would be way to low to be working out.

    Exercising

ok. but how many calories did you eat at home and how many when you were on vacation and how many calories do you burn working out at home and how many on vacation. you have to know what your calorie deficit looks like to figure out answers. eating Protein bars all the time doesn't sound like a vacation to me! yikes. I hope you get more variety in your food at home.

    Feeling full

it took about 3 months for my stomach area to heal enough to really start feeling completely there. so full for me before then meant a drippy nose, a hiccup or I am going to die feeling. I rarely ate enough to experience those. I measured my food, ate it and was done (or until one of the above symptoms manifested) until the next time. now I eat slowly and feel satisfied with the food I eat but do not eat until I feel "full" because I could eat quite a bit more than I need at this point.
  7. working out that much I wonder if your calories were too low? did you do the whole food tracking, work out tracking thing - what did your calorie deficit look like?

How is yoga useful in weight loss?

any time you are moving your body you are burning calories and working to change your metabolism. yoga works your core and will add stability to any other movement and form of exercise you choose to perform. it's my personal feeling that the gentle slow stretching helps me avoid injury in other activities. how effective it can be will depend upon how challenging, length and frequency of your work outs but it is possible to get a pretty serious workout with yoga or pilates. edited to add* please find a workout routine or combos that you love as the best way to loose weight is to keep moving, and the best way to keep moving is to do things you enjoy

    Having Doubts

I was convinced that my obesity would end my life prematurely. do you feel like you can live a normal healthy life span at the weight you currently are? because honestly, most people who loose weight gain it back and more. this is a powerful tool to give you an edge with those odds. the thing I hear consistently is that people only wish they had done this sooner. You are at a fork in the road, and need to decide which way you want your life to go.

    Liquid won't stay down

I just wanted you to know this is posted in the sleeve forum and I think you might get better answers in the band forum. but for what it's worth I think you need to let your team know what's going on! and please let us know how you are doing.
  12. at 4 months out I am able to pretty much eat anything - I have a small burger without the bun often. tonight we are having nachos - I am going to have the seasoned meat, lettuce and some cheese and sour cream on top. so yes! life looks a lot more normal 4 months out. small portions, but real food that I enjoy.

    No dumping

some people with the sleeve experience dumping, but most do not. many experience foods that no longer sit well in their stomach, but many do not. I am one who has been able to eat anything I cared to - without problems for the most part. some would say that is an advantage, some would say it is not - but I am very happy with my outcome.

    Staples/stiches come out?

the staples in your actual stomach stay so no bother there. and the others I had dissoluble stitches under neath glue. this should be a pretty easy appointment for you.
  16. if you don't have any complications, and if you have a desk job you may be ready to go back after that first week. but have a plan in place just in case. you know the saying - plan for the worst, hope for the best? I took 4 weeks of FMLA with the understanding that if everything went well I would go back to work after my one week appointment. I ended up taking until my one month check up of shorter days, just to make it easier to adapt to the new diet and changes.

    Weak

did you have a one week check up with your doctor? most plans would have you on Protein shakes by now, and yes I did have twinges of pain with almost everything I ate or drank in the beginning - but I knew I needed to nourish my body anyway. please check in with your doctor and let us know what they advise. Furthermore, tell them you are not taking all of your medications and see what they tell you. by that point I was able to take all of my regular medications.

"This was the best thing I ever did"

off diabetes medication. on 1/4 of blood pressure meds. I can cross my legs. I have energy to participate in my life again. I can wear rings that have sat in my jewelry case for years. simply put, there is no aspect of my life that has not been improved since surgery. I had no complications aside from some constipation (which I firmly believe is due to coming off Metformin) and I can eat anything - but I prefer the foods on my food plan. no trouble at all getting liquids and Protein in. I have lost 40% of my excess weight. weight loss is slow and steady.

    Liquid Protein Variety...

I like the unjury chocolate splendor made with fairlife milk. I like it with espresso powder added, or PB powder added or half a banana. I also like the unjury vanilla with coffee added - or with half a peach or some frozen cherries added. and I used the unjury unflavored in things like no sugar applesauce to give a Protein boost in the early days.
  23. that's very helpful. when I went to my initial seminar we sat down with the insurance/referral person who already had our policy looked up and told us what our copay and everything would be. what the requirements for approval were. it was very helpful to me as far as planning my surgery.

    Recovery Sleeve Procedure

this is going to vary from person to person - and depending on if you have a hernia repair or other work at the same time. For me my initial swelling and sore throat resolved in a few days - and I went back to work after a week (and weekend) off - so about 10 days. the first month I took short days so I could get a handle on my eating and drinking and walking - and have a nap if I needed to.
