How severe was your hair loss?
Christinamo7 replied to AchieveGoals's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have not lost any unusual amount of hair. Which is good because it is fine and thin. I do not let the process stress me. (I had already decided to get a real hair wig if it fell out to the point of being obvious) I get plenty of Protein and I eat eggs almost daily( rich in biotin) not sure what a veg option for that would be. I get enough sleep and I get enough to drink. And who knows if any of that matters? I know I lost a lot of hair some 8 years ago when going through the process of putting my son I a group home- who knows what or if I ate during that time. I do not attend my practice lead support group because there are a few rny patients who insist their experience and rules apply to everyone and the truth is my sleeve experience is completely different. I do participate in their Facebook closed group where that is less of an issue but still somewhat of a problem. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

You should be able to correct and resubmit. They may want a blood check for nicotine. Get with your clinic and let us know what happens. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

What happens when you eat too much?
Christinamo7 replied to PaulStephens1975's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
When I eat too much, which happened the other day - I feel that after thanksgiving "I ate too much and want to die" feeling for about a half an hour and I want to go lay down. Drinking some Water helps as does laying down. It's only happened to me a few times. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

NSAID's after Gastric Sleeve?
Christinamo7 replied to AchieveGoals's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think you need to have an honest discussion with your provider regarding risks and benefits, and perhaps with your GYN as well. I have never had trouble with ulcers or anything like that yet I was surprised when my surgeon told me specifically that *I* could take Ib and products with it. However the policy of that same weight loss practice forbids them for all their patients. there is no way any of us here could tell you if they will be safe for you or not because that risk/benefit ratio is going to depend upon your specific risk level and your specific benefit level. I do take cinnamon daily for arthritis type pain and it is quite effective. -
my middle child got engaged last night! I think I am going to be a lot more comfortable with all the festivities (and pictures) now that the weight is coming off. and I love his fiancee - so it is a very good day.

Got a surgery date: what does that mean?
Christinamo7 replied to Miss.Bunny447's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
call and ask the office! -
in the hospital all I wanted was my phone, charger, and laptop. toothbrush. I packed other things, but this was probably all I used. I wore the clothes home that I had worn in since I had not had them on very long. I wore the hospital gown in the hospital due to the IV and just walked in my room. I slept a lot. after surgery I wanted sugar free popsicles, ocean spray diet cran grape - and then went on my Protein shakes as well. my husband was off work the day of my surgery, the day I came home and then his weekend before going back to work. I didn't really need help with anything but it was a comfort to know someone was there just in case. I tried to walk a little bit every hour I was awake and rested when I needed to rest. I am looking forward to seeing your progress!

Newbie: sleeved on June 20th! So much fear already!
Christinamo7 replied to Mjohnson4631's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
yup. most people feel that way. you've just been through major surgery. you probably had an IV, they may have given you steroids or an antibiotic. your only job in the first month is to heal from surgery - if weight loss comes along in those early days that is fine, but it may not and is not a reflection on your ultimate success. -
I can't remember - it's all a fog before coffee............... probably a month? at first it kinda gave me a sour stomach, and I only had a little bit and then waited a while to have more. now I have a cup of coffee with stevia and fairlife milk/half and half blend most days when I am at work. I do love coffee......... mmmmmmmm coffee...... first the coffee, and then I do the things........

yes! I agree. I try to avoid chemical sugar substitutes and fat free things that are not meant to be fat free. While there are some products I like better in a reduced fat dairy version, I do not avoid or over consume healthy fats either.

Scale recommendations - I don't trust mine
Christinamo7 replied to WitchySar's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I have this one https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001KXZ808/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and I like it very much. seems to be pretty spot on and the numbers are big enough to read without my glasses. -
I use two spoons of it daily in my morning drink. I also use a stool softener and try to eat Beans regularly. when needed I take an MOM caplet or two. it has helped a lot. I don't know if I am more regular, but I am not struggling when it is time to go now.

Any home daycare providers out there?
Christinamo7 replied to Teresa in Texas's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
if you don't have any complications - and if they can climb up so you are not lifting - then you will be tired but ok. look, it's not ideal. but I had a c section 21 years ago with 4 of my own kids at home and a nephew living with me. the nephew and oldest son were 8. so 5 kids and a newborn and I just had to take care to rest when I could, drink and eat and again, rest as much as I could. I survived - we all did and you can get through this too - just plan to be kind to yourself rest and get your Protein. -
My therapist disapproves sleeve?
Christinamo7 replied to glitterdaisies's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
many professionals are biased against WLS. I would let her know that this is something you are planning to do and ask her if she is uncomfortable working with you to refer you to someone else. -
What did I sign up for?
Christinamo7 replied to rebcal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am not a happy camper if I am not pooping often enough either, and that can cause you to feel nauseated. Please take something to get things moving, talk to your team about a strategy to keep things moving and I think you'll feel much better after you do. as for the way you are eating now being forever, it won't. but then there will be other challenges, such as keeping to a healthy diet when you can tolerate other foods. -
1 month today post sleeve opinion reg dinner
Christinamo7 replied to traceygirl's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I don't know what your diet progression plan is - or what you have eaten and tolerated - but I wouldn't start off with ground beef. -
your surgeon will know exactly when to release you, and I suppose this will depend somewhat on what all they did. I had no hernia repair or anything and I was released to full activity at 4 weeks. until then I only did (non pushing it) walking.
