six month check up went well. NP and NUT are pleased with my progress and choices. Watching as the labs come in now - the WBC is still high, but down a whole number, so I am happy about that.

Life changes, and nerves?!
Christinamo7 replied to AudreyDarling's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
you know what? if there WAS an easy way out I'd be fighting you for the first place in line. OF COURSE. we all would. so even if that WAS true it wouldn't be BAD. Obesity is a disease, it is not laziness. PCOS is a medical condition and this should help. there is no shame in that. I got some mild negativity from my immediate family but truth is they were scared if I would be ok. I am and they are fine. curious even. they are thrilled with my improved health. it is easier than doing the weight loss without the sleeve, but it's never "easy" advice? just forge ahead to do what you feel is best for you and let their opinions be their opinions. take note and move forward. -

1 month post op
Christinamo7 replied to Tiffanie623's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
when I was one month out there was still a lot of numbness in my stomach area from where it was cut. as time went on I have gotten more feeling back, and that is normal. which is why it is important to weigh and measure your food so that you do not eat more than you ought to. -
my first food was touch down taco dip

do you use epsom salts in your bath? that is one thing that can help, also things like a cinnamon supplement or turmeric supplement may also help. and talk to your team. I had the VSG and my surgeon specifically told me I can have ibuprofen. I do not know what your doctor and practice would say, but I would at least ask.

Vitamin B. It's more than just B-12, and it's not all created equal
Christinamo7 replied to smg's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
12 and 6 were seriously high. I use the garden of life womens once daily. all of my other labs were normal. so, we'll see how things are tomorrow and if any changes need to be made. I will say I do eat chicken breast, red meat, eggs, almonds, green veg. but I'd hardly say I eat a lot of anything - a lot less than I ever used to, that's for sure. -
just this week I noticed that the elastic waist on my work pants does not really touch me all the way around. so I am going to HAVE to buy new work pants, before I am in this situation. they used to be snug in the waist, with the elastic plenty stretched. wow. THANK God for the hips.

Vitamin B. It's more than just B-12, and it's not all created equal
Christinamo7 replied to smg's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I drink the Vitamin Water zero - I have to limit myself to 2 per day because my b Vitamins were too high at my last appointment. curious to see where they will be tomorrow at my six month check. I have no idea what kind of B is in there - but clearly it is working for me. -
Exercise Timeline
Christinamo7 replied to chicagorocks's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was cleared for other exercise at my one month appointment. until then it was just walking. but you can vary the venue, get creative. choose a different park to walk in when possible - if the weather is not good go to the mall at a not busy time and get circling the mall. I hope you're not stuck on a treadmill! if you are then please enjoy a movie or tv while you walk or a nature video - or an audio book. -
Sleeve delayed by ticking time bomb
Christinamo7 replied to Smashley23's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I am so thankful that things went the way they did! Looking forward to hearing how you are doing as you move toward being sleeved. -
Protein or paleo bread ok?
Christinamo7 replied to khoney37's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
all the plans are different - so you are going to have to check with your program. my doctor encourages all kinds of food, Protein first - but I am allowed to have an oatmeal bread, which I toast on days that I have an egg for Breakfast. but mygoodness! I used to could eat half a loaf, now its usually half a slice. helps keep things regular though. -
Interesting article on WLS and weight regain
Christinamo7 replied to OzRoo's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
interesting article. I have no idea what size my stomach is. maybe a question to ask out of curiosity when I have my six month check up on Friday/ -
@@Jane1979 if you do that you may want to use something like unjury vanilla in place of your creamer, and perhaps add some Fiber, turning it into basically a Protein shake. you would not want it to be over 140 degrees, but that is still pretty hot.

I was allowed coffee after a couple of weeks. coffee is what allows me to use my grown up manners. I drink mine with stevia and a mixture of fairlife milk and half and half. FYI I had a c section. it was 1000 times more difficult than my sleeve surgery. but I didn't get an adorable baby with this surgery

six month surgiversary - what a wild ride!

I was allowed to have it fairly soon - less than a month. I have a cup of coffee most work days. it helps me with my grown up manners.

Who slimmes or foams when they work out?

Who slimmes or foams when they work out?
Christinamo7 replied to soundguy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
do you have any sort of prework out drink or bar? do you drink during your workout? I've only had the slimies once, and it was when I tried to push myself to eat a normal bariatric meal after my Dad died, because I hadn't been eating much and was going back to work. I'd have to guess you may be pushing a bit too hard - but does it matter if you have an easier or harder workout or if your workout is shorter? -
6 day of pre op and going crazy
Christinamo7 replied to Patchakc's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
the liquid part is the hardest part! I would imagine harder preop - but plenty hard post op too. hang in there. I don't know what criteria doctors use to make that call - but you want to follow their instructions to have a safe surgery. -
Not sure if anyone will be interested...
Christinamo7 replied to JillC878's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
what sort of working out do you prefer? my favorites are swimming, hiking and walking. there are certain foods I go to on my "hungry" days that I know will fill me up without doing damage - do you have a list of foods that do that for you? -
Getting back on track
Christinamo7 replied to d258's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
your weight loss has been phenomenal! but ya do need your Vitamins as not having them can contribute to the fatigue and to the way you feel. I drink a Vitamin Water zero daily and it boosts my b vitamin levels. I like the rise and lemonaid the best. it would help you with fluids and not add any calories to your day. I am six months out tomorrow and just had basically a 2 month stall. scale is starting to move again. your body may have just needed a rest. You are probably not done loosing - if you care to loose more I am sure you will. -
I am 6 months out tomorrow and have not had excessive hair loss. I get my Protein, eat eggs, and take zinc (always have)
