I haven't logged in since last November! There have been some amazing changes to the site. Glad to see familiar names are still here. Looking forward to getting reacquainted with everyone. I'm back ... searching the complications section because I think my band has slipped. I've been having a terrible time keeping anything down including Water. This has been going on for a week now and happened for about a week two months ago. I just discovered that my dr is on my new insurance, so I'm making an appointment today! I wish I wouldn't have waited so long to find out if I was covered - could have been seeing him back in January. Hoping that things are OK, but expecting to get some back news. At this point I'm down to 169 - haven't seen those numbers since 1987!!!

I was able to get in to see my doctor the same day that I posted this message. Had a complete unfill and was scheduled to go back today for a partial fill. Unfortunately, my regular doctor is on vacation and I was scheduled to see the other doctor in the office. He did not want to do the fill today because he wanted me to see the nutrionist first (never a word of this when the appt was scheduled). Needless to say, I left with the fill and a new appt in a few weeks to see my doctor. After the unfill, I felt a millions times better and have been reunited with bread! Looking forward to getting a fill, need it because I can eat everything! Ugh. L -
Best wishes to you and I am so sorry to hear you have to go through this! Please don't be too discouraged about the recovery! For me it wasn't bad at all. I have had three bikini line c-sections and have to tell you that the recovery is not bad at all. My last c-section at 36 was a breeze and I was walking around with little tenderness the first week! If I were in your shoes and knew I didn't want kids (I had my tubes tied during the last c-section), I would opt for the hysterectomy! Just think, no more periods! One would think that would be a great benefit when it comes to "suitors"! The scar itself is minimal. Granted, I wouldn't wear a bikini anyways, so it will never been seen in public! Take care and try not to worry!

Good Band - Fast (Home or Restruant) Food Ideas
queenbeeoffour replied to cashley's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Here's what I have discoverd - Taco Bell - grilled stuffed cesar chicken (eat the innards) bean burrito or pintos and cheese McDonalds - yogurt or nuggets (very slowly) Restaurants - cup of Soup or side salad (not both), shrimp or crab cocktail. I've tried getting a hamburger and just eating the patty. Did not work well for me at all (had to make a PB run in the middle of it). Went to IHOP with the family last weekend - drank coffee and picked a few pieces of scrambled eggs from the kids plates and I was done. I can't eat in the AM anyways. Take and go - Breakfast Cookies (new discovery-could only eat half of it and it even has protein!), Dole fruit cups (jelled sometimes and they have a new cream version now), cheese and crackers. -
The Seattle Times ran a photo contest for Peeps creations. This one made me laugh out loud and I immediately thought of all of our biker babes and dudes! Harley Peep-idson Posse "I was going to do 'Peeps County Choppers," explains Lihudis, 11. Then he realized his toy bikes were Harleys. The bandannas were a must. He also tried tattoos. "But they wouldn't stick."

Your prize will be in the mail this weekend - just waiting for payday on Friday!!! Congrats on your awesome weightloss!!!

I refuse to give up Splenda! I'm going to hoard what I have and grab whatever I can get my hands on! It's everywhere - work, Starbucks, McDonalds. Maybe I sell some on ebay when no one can get their hands on it and I'll make millions!

April is fast approaching - so you're just going to have to get up there and enjoy the beauty (I know you know exactly what I am talking about!). (it's not a tulip, but close enough!) Safe travels home.

Isn't the doctor in Seattle?! I'm in Bothell - I could picket outside of his office. Maybe I could rally a few of the Seattle college kids to join me. They always love a good protest! I'm sorry to hear of what you have been through. For my own selfish reasons, I hope to get a chance to meet you. I know you met up with a few of the gals from the Seattle area a while ago. We'll have to plan something when you get settled! I think you are making a great move to come home to family. A change of scenery will do you good. It's almost time for the Tulip Festival!!! Best wishes for safe travel back to Seattle.

does it feel weird to be loosing weight?
queenbeeoffour replied to aligirrl77's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
It's definitely a new feeling!!! I'm buying size 18 pants now (down from 22) and smaller shirts. I bought a few shirts at Value Village the other night and my husband made a comment that they looked too big! Could have kissed him for it! I'm at 200 now and can't wait to see the scale hit onederland in the next few days. It's great to know that the band is working for me!!!!!! -
Stainless Steel Sink advice needed......
queenbeeoffour replied to princess_n_thep's topic in The Lounge
I have used Comet and a SOS pad with good results. I use the SOS pad to scrub in the Comet with a little water. Let it sit for a few minutes, then wash out with a sponge. Always leaves it pretty for me!! -
My real name stands for "The Queen" in French. My husband's initials spell out BEE, so I've sort of made it our family mascot. I have a hubby, two boys and a girl, so that's where the four comes from.

I triple that! I seek your posts among other's and this site wouldn't be the same without you. That thread was out of control until Big Paul stepped in and brought sanity back to it. Now if we could just lock the thread and end the insanity!! Delarla, you have passion and no need to defend it. LBT has brought me plenty of laughs, smiles and tears - we rock as a community. :bananajump:

Erosion, The Real Facts

:cheer2:  Big Paul rocks! What a wonderful post!! :cheer2: -
EEEWWW - Miracle Whip is terrible to me! I grew up on mayo and my hubby grew up on Miracle Whip, so we have both in the frig. Can't stand the stuff. I'll just stick with tuna and chicken salad - the boiled eggs just don't agree with me. Don't have problems with eggs cooked scrambled or over easy, go figure!?!?!
-
I'm choosing to stay out of the other thread because the exchange between everyone is more heated than I care to get. I don't post often, but I read the boards everyday, several times a day. I was surprised by Dr. Ortiz's post, but thought it seemed like an attempt to clear his name. The other surgeon's responses were terrible and I am thankful that he is not my doctor. I value you and what you contribute to the board. Losing weight is such a struggle with or without the band. You have a right to be mad and frustrated. My motto is "the only way out is through". You will get through this and find the answers you are looking for. With or without the band you are part of the family and always will be.

:target: What is it with egg salad?! Got stuck and pain!! I thought it would be perfect, but no way - and this was before my last fill. There is no way I would try it now. Garlic I would and will do in a heartbeat, problem is I like it on bread and there is nooooooooooooooo way I'm going there. Oh the memories!!

I had my second fill today. I went into the office thinking that I would have a small or no weight loss, but it was actually 5 lbs! When I weigh at home, I have been adding too much to the scale total to match the doctor's office. My calculations have been wrong for the last two weeks!!! This also means that I have made some progress in Delarla's challenge!!! Last month I pulled out old pants and shirts that didn't fit when they were put away. I've been wearing them and now they are too big! Time to downgrade (or upgrade depending on how you look at it!!) to the next size down. My shoes are even getting too big!! My donation pile for too big sizes is growing quickly. I'm looking forward to getting under 200 - haven't been that low in at least 10 years! BTW - I love my doctor's office!!! The staff are great and the nurse cracks me up. She started singing after I weighed and kept me smiling through the visit. Tell me how strange it is to walk in to office and they are all eating McDonald's for lunch?! I thought it was pretty funny myself. I'm doing a happy dance!!! :humble:

question for those not telling anyone at work
queenbeeoffour replied to sleepyjean's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have told no one at work. I work graveyard, so all of my doctor appointments went unnoticed. I told my supervisor that I was having a medical procedure done and nothing more was asked. My original intentions were just for a few family members to know - my husband, daughter, mother and in-laws. My mother spilled the Beans to my daughter when I was just considering surgery, then told my brother and his wife. My FIL can't keep his mouth shut about anything, so I assume most of hubby's siblings know. I don't want to be under a microscope and it's really no one's business - losing weight is enough!!! One of the mom's at the bus stop asked me the other day what type of diet I was on ... I just smiled and said that I'm eating Proteins and veggies first, and carbs if there is room. It's the truth!! -
Please keep my little girl in your prayers...
queenbeeoffour replied to piercedqt78's topic in The Lounge
:speechles It makes me sad that you have had this experience! It's just not right!! You have my prayers and best wishes. I can't begin to imagine what you and your daughter are going through. Bless her sweet little heart. You are doing everything you can and getting answers along the way. -
Have to say working for Marvel Comics is much better than working for a bank or an insurance company! Sorry to hear about the losses you suffered from 9/11 - can't imagine what it was like for you. Best wishes to you!!

O M G - Bikers, I'm Gonna Faint! Help!
queenbeeoffour replied to DeLarla's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm not a biker, but my hubby loves them. Congrats to you - can't wait to see pictures of you on your new bike!!! -
Congrats on the smaller sizes!! Just curious ... I work at a call center for a large bank headquartered in Seattle that has a call center in the state of New York. Any chance that we'll be co-workers?!

Going to the first meeting is the biggest step! If you are uncomfortable with the "churchy" part of the meeting, you don't have to participate. At the meetings I went to there were many that would not repeat the words of the prayers. Everyone has the right to have their own beliefs and you should hear many refer to their "higher power". Now the greeting the neighbor part is just plain saying "hey"! Please keep going!!! It's the best tool you can have to "save yourself"!!!
