Jan, I had lapband with Dr. Gens (3-17-08). Recently I've had a few issues and I went to see him yesterday. He spent alot of time with me and calmed all my fears. I love him so much that I even asked him if he could be my primary care doctor! I've only lost about 60 lbs; would like to lose about 30 more. But if that is all I lose, I am so happy! It was the best decision I ever made; wish I had done it sooner. Hope all went well with your surgery. Wendy

I just found out today that my band has also slipped upward. I assume that this is not a "typical" slip. I cannot find much on the web about it. I'm going to my band surgeon next week but I'm so curious to know what my options are going to be.

I too am addicted to my digital scale; I weight myself probably twice a day with mornings being my favorite weigh-in. I don't dread weighing myself anymore since lapband! I even want my doctor's office to weigh me!!!! Haven't lost all of my weight yet but am so happy with what I have lost!

WOW.....everyone is doing so well!!! I was banded on 3-17-08 and my doctor is very conservative; I've only had two fills, both .5 cc each, so to date only 1 cc in a 10 cc AP band....I am now averaging about a loss of 4 lbs each month which I guess is good but able to eat more than I should! I go again this month and am hoping to get another fill....can't wait to see what restriction feels like!!!!

I had my first fill today; I'm 3 months post op and my dr only put in .5cc. On liquids for a couple of days. The fill didn't hurt and it was so quick. But I can't tell if I feel different or not. Anyone else feel this way or is it too soon to know? Thanks....

Hi Diana...yes I was at the meeting last month. I try to get to all the lapband support group meetings! Haven't gone to the general one lately; being careful with gas!!! I live right off 16 - Grandview Loop. I haven't started running yet, mostly walking and I joined Planet Fitness in Rochester; I bring my daughter as a guest but she doesn't always want to go.... How long have you been banded? How is it going for you? Hope to talk to you at the meeting. Wendy

Hello everyone......I went to the orientation meeting around Thanksgiving 07 and had my surgery March 17, 2008. Looking back now the time went by so quick. I'm now almost 3 months post banding and have lost a total of 45 lbs....I have Dr. Gens and went through the program at Portsmouth Hospital; they have been so great. I go this Thursday for my first fill......I'm so glad I went with the lapband. It's nice to see others from the Wakefield area - I also live in Wakefield! If anyone is looking for a walking / workout buddy, I'd love to get together. The post-surgery support group is helpful, wish it could be more than once a month! And this website has been so helpful when I've had questions... Wendy

Congratulations!!! I went to my orientation right after Thanksgiving 2007 and my surgery was 3/17/08. Moved along pretty fast. I had 14 pounds to loose for surgery. My email is wendys81963@yahoo.com. Sorry we didn't get to speak; I was waiting for a friend coming from Derry! I just saw Nancy & Dr. Gens this morning...had another check up; lost 6lbs this month and I go back again next month and will get a fill then. Dr. Gens made me feel so good today; I'm so glad I did this and don't hesitate to ask me anything. If you want I can give you my home email; sometimes easier to check! Wendy

sure....I'm have auburn hair; white skirt on today and baby blue shirt......I should be there around 6:15; I believe it starts at 6:30! Wendy

Hi......Dr. Gens was great; I'm now 2 months out and have lost a total of 41 lbs. since beginning in January. I am also going to the informational session tomorrow night with a friend who is also interested in lapband. Please feel free to ask me any questions.....I'd be happy to share my experiences to date. I'm so glad that I did this!

I am so glad that I'm not alone....My surgery was 3/17/08; I went back to work full time after a week, a desk job, but my lower back gets sore from sitting and I just want to come home at night and jump into bed with my heating pad. I don't have alot of energy but am feeling better than I did last week!! Thank god shoulder pain is gone. Wishing everyone well.

hi...prior to surgery I really liked the SlimFast Low Carb chocolate shakes....had one on Tuesday and didn't really care for it!!! I've now just been drinking the chocolate CIB drinks and they taste a little better; but forcing myself to drink. Not very thirsty or hungry!

I was banded on Monday morning and came home that night around 5; not really much stomach pain, a little shoulder pain. But it is really hard to drink all the liquids just not really hungry or thirsty. It did feel really good yesterday to shower and I took off my bandages which also helped!! Wishing everyone well. Hi....I was banded on Monday; I also thought I could go back to work today (at a desk job) but am still not feeling 100%. Although taking a shower today helped alot!!! Hard to drink all liquids and get everything in....just not hungry. But of course all tv has on it is food commericals...UGH; can't wait till next week to feel more normal.

Hi....I'm Wendy from New Hampshire. I had my 2nd appointment with my surgeon today and found out that I'm also being banded on March 17th.....Wishing everyone well!!!

I'm from Wakefield, NH; I meet tomorrow with Dr. Gens (Atlantic Medical in Portsmouth). I have done my psych classes, nutritionist, physical therapy and also the support group meeting. Wondering after meeting with Dr. how far off my surgery might be??? I have also lost the 11 lbs that was needed. Getting anxious now to begin a new life!
