  1. For me so far, the hardest part of this journey is not being able to drink. I did a 2 week pre op diet where alcohol was not allowed and am 3 weeks out now. So it's been almost 2 months since I last drank. I never considered myself a big drinker but could always handle a lot ( probably due to my weight). I'm 25 and have a lot of friends who still go to bars on weekends. I am starting to feel I'm losing touch with my social life because I'm not able to do those things yet. How long did everyone wait before trying a drink? Did you get sick? Sent from my SM-G530T using the BariatricPal App

    Alcohol, parties, fun?

I'm glad I'm not alone in this. This surgery was an entire lifestyle change and I'm not wrong to in some ways feel left out or out of the loop. Its a big adjustment. Sent from my SM-G530T using the BariatricPal App
  3. That's not something you should be proud of. Obese people have enough embarrassment and discrimination as it is. Sent from my SM-G530T using the BariatricPal App

  7. I went back to work the second week after surgery. Left early a few times so in my opinion it was too soon. Still haven't gone back to my gym routine. 5 weeks out now. Waiting until my one month follow up next week Sent from my SM-G530T using the BariatricPal App
  8. I have been drinking Bariatric fusion but want to try something else. Where do you buy the premier protein shakes Sent from my SM-G530T using the BariatricPal App
  9. Isopure is disgusting but it's really all u can think of. I have a Protein shake in the morning. One scoop of one brand is 15 g and two scoops of Bariatric fusion is 27 g a bottle of isopure is 40 g and I sip it all day. It takes the whole work day to finish it. Then there's eggs usually scrambled, cheese, I put unflavored bariatric fusion powder in my mashed potatoes and Soup. I like fish so I had broiled fish the other day. Hope this helps. I was never a big meat eater so looks like isopure is here to stay. Sent from my SM-G530T using the BariatricPal App
  10. I had a hiatal hernia which made it hard to swallow so I wasn't able to have much at all. I'm week 5 right now and have had broiled fish and I tried one bite of Pasta yesterday. I just missed the taste so much. But it didn't take much to feel full from it. Now I don't crave it. Not sure if that's what you mean by solid. Sent from my SM-G530T using the BariatricPal App
  11. I am also finding it hard to swallow. 5 weeks out now. Looks like a spoonful of Peanut Butter and some Isopure for dinner. Sent from my SM-G530T using the BariatricPal App

Help! I think I eat too much.

I feel the same way. I know my stomach is smaller and I feel full but I sometimes still think I can eat the way I used to. Which often leads to vomiting. I've been tracking my food on loseit.com and staying under 1,000 calories a day. It calculates how much Protein you get in a day too. I am bad with measuring. Alcohol, parties, fun?

I appreciate your answer. I know this is a lifestyle change. I just don't think I can completely give up that fun part of myself. Thank you for sharing. I'm gonna wait a couple more months and try it. I don't plan on drinking a lot. But I would be lying if if said I didn't miss it. Good to know you didn't gain. How much have you lost? 16. Did anyone else have hiatal hernia repair as well? I am 1 week out. Was sipping broth and got air or liquid trapped in esophagus. Felt a spasm and my chest tighten. Could not burp. Intense pain and burning. Has anyone else experienced this? Sent from my SM-G530T using the BariatricPal App

  19. Every since I was around 12 years old, my mother has been harsh about my body and the way I look. I remember her making comments like "do you want to be as big as a house" and "you're a fat pig". I was not a large child. At 13 i weighed 125. I remember my mom lecturing me on the way out of the doctor's office saying that is an adult weight and is need to be careful. My mom is very thin and does not understand how badly these comments have messed with my mind. Even present day, she was one of the people who wanted me to get this surgery. I am glad I went through with it. I'm only 2 weeks in and very emotional. My mother is continuing to not be supportive. How do I tell her off without sounding bitter or jealous? In fact how would you handle anyone who makes inappropriate comments about your weight. I'm finding it is hard to block them out. Sent from my SM-G530T using the BariatricPal App

    Trying not to be angry

I think I do need to just distance myself. And yes this all happened before I was heavy. It was almost like reversed psychology. I snuck all the food I ate and became what she always told me I would be. Ironic huh? Sent from my SM-G530T using the BariatricPal App
