Just got approved for my surgery and it is scheduled for 4/5/16. I am beyond excited and I am looking forward to working with someone new like me or even some one a little bit along in their process. Accountability is huge and I would love to bounce ideas, issues, and life with a few good people here. I will be having the gastric bypass. Danielle Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

My surgery is 4/5/16 and I am beyond excited. Got the call from the nurse today to confirm details and get my arrival time. Due to a hand injury I am working half days until my surgery so that only gives me 20 work hours to go. Any support now would be wonderful. Tips and tricks, things to avoid or things you found worked well are all welcome. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Hey all feeling sore and sometimes nauseous but otherwise ok. I only had to stay one night at the hospital. According to the surgeon everything went smoothly. The only big issue I have been having is urinating but it seems to be getting better with time. Thanks for all the well wishes, it really helps brighten my day! 4/5! So excited due to my BMI being under 50 I only have to do a 2 day liquid diet before surgery; however, I followed my wife's two week high Protein, low calorie diet before her surgery and I have dropped about 35 lbs. since Dec. 2015. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
Yay! So happy for you. I will be joining you soon in just a couple short but very long weeks lol Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

April 5th! I am beyond excited. Wishing everyone success for their surgery and a great journey as we all work on our bodies Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
I think it depends on the person. My wife had her RNY in January of this year and she can't tolerate it; however, as you can see in the comments, many are fine with it. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Fear of eating out and dumping
dnpatrick9 replied to Thecloude1's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
The great news is with certain websites and apps you can find out what meals consist of and their daily values which can help you decide if a meal out will fit the perimeters. Or if you worry and it is a restaurant that does on the go, you could order and try at home that way if dumping does occur you would at least be at home to deal with it. My wife is worried as well but always tries to try new things at home to help lessen the fear. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
I carry a lot of weight in my arms and I am hoping to start a regime to help tone and strengthen them to hopefully reduce the amount of saggy skin after my weight loss. Any tips, exercises, or suggestions are welcome. Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

calling all april 2016 bypass patients
dnpatrick9 replied to newmebithebypass's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I am scheduled for 4/5 and I am beyond excited. I started and then had to stop the process two years ago due to some other medical issues but was able to get back in the beginning of the year to get it all taken care of. My wife had the surgery in January this year and it has helped me prepare for the surgery mentally and physically. We live in Michigan, so we are excited to drop weight and do some camping this summer! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
Good idea! I will create a routine to do incorporating those. Thanks! I am getting so pumped as my surgery date is getting closer and closer! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I used to swim in high school and I loved it. Unfortunately there isn't a pool close to where I live or else I would hop right in. Thanks for the suggestions! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Definitely a huge bummer but I am happy that you are able to get in again relatively soon. My wife had the opposite happen. Two days before surgery she was diagnosed with bronchitis, sinus infection, and laryngitis. Took another couple of weeks to kick it and was back for surgery rather quickly. I wish you the best on your new surgery date. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

My 600 Pound Life: 2016 Season
dnpatrick9 replied to Inner Surfer Girl's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
My wife and I binge watched the first 3 seasons and have been waiting for each new episode. I agree the shower scenes can be excessive. Although it is a major part of their daily life as it takes a lot of time, effort, and at times a few people to help, but it doesn't need to be a lengthy part of the show. I loved Nikki as well. Her spirit and talent was subdued as she gained but it was nice to see that with every pound and effort she was getting back to being the fun, funky girl she was before the weight gain.
