Lol...true dat bigmoe99. It's the prilocec that my surgeon prescribed...have to break open the capsule and there are little small balls of medicine inside...they don't dissolve so it makes them hard to get down. Constantly picking them little suckers out of my teeth..lol

Anybody have a sure fire way to get down the omeperzole?

Open procedure is where they make about a 12 in incision as compared to a bunch of small incisions when it's done laproscopiclly.

I was also an open procedure. Forgot to mention that.????

My surgery was on the 25th. Vbg revision to roux en y. I just got out of the hospital today. 1 1/2 days without any type of liquid is tough. My swallow test showed no leaks so finally got to have liquids yesterday. I see what yall are saying now about not really wanting anything. Other than to wet my mouth I didn't want it. I also was hit with the gas pain...whoa! Wicked..but a gas-x strip did the trick. I'm feeling pretty good, and I haven't really needed the pain meds. It's still hard to get up and down, but getting easier as it goes. I also have to sit a minute or two before I stand to stave off the dizziness. First night back in my own bed will be interesting. Lol. I really got use to the adjustable bed in the hospital.

30 more minutes till admit!!! OMG it's really happening! I'm not really nervous as anxious. All prayers appreciated. I'll keep everyone updated.

I am waiting to be cleared by NUT, then my doctor will set a date. I'm having a VBG to RnY revision. My doctor says it is going to be an open, no "if's, and's or but's". Anyone else have this revision or an open procedure? If so, what was your down time (Im a nurse and need to get back to work as soon as possible)? I would appreciate hearing yall's stories. My VBG was over 20 + years ago, and like childbirth, I have forgotten all the pain etc. Then again, it may be just that old age thing. ???? 55yo 5'5.5" Heaviest weight 320 lbs Currently down 22 lbs in 1 mo pre op supervised diet. Mine is in the 25th of this month. I too am an open and also vaguely remember the pain but it's been so long it has faded. Not sure of that's a good thing or a bad thing.lol. ***update: started my 2 week pre op liquid protein diet on the 11th. First couple of days are a beast, but it's getting better. Lab work tomorrow then pre op appt Tuesday. Surgery is set for the 25th of May and I learn my surgery time Tuesday. Getting nervous, but it helps reading about Y'all and your journeys.
